BACKPACKING PANAMA TOP TIPS
These are my best tips for having a travelling adventure backpacking in Panama. That doesn’t have to mean “budget Panama,” but if you’re travelling the Gringo Trail that probably means a tight - gap year - budget, right?
I cover the Gringo Trail in Panama from Bocas Del Toro, San Blas Islands, to Panama City, including hostels, public transport, partying and the most interesting sights like the Panama Canal. Or maybe you’re just looking for the best Panama beaches.
This video’s not meant to be a definitive Panama travel guide, or even an exhaustive list of Panama sights, sounds or destinations. It’s just my advice if you want to travel to Panama based on my own experience. (Which was part of a general backpacking adventure covering Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala and Belize - all of Central America except El Salvador!)
My recommended list of hostels in Panama and Panama City: -
VILLA VENTO SURF HOSTEL - www.hostelworld.com/hosteldeta...
HOSTAL MAMALLENA - www.hostelworld.com/hosteldeta...
THE LOST & FOUND HOSTEL - www.thelostandfoundhostel.com/...
If you’re backpacking or even just vacationing in Central or Latin America, let me know, I’d love to hear from you! Send me a pic or message.

This was the most helpful Panama video I have seen. Thank you for posting and staying on point. A lot of people seem to drift off topic in this style of video.
I'm travelling solo to Bocas next week for the first time backpacking. Thanks so much for making me much more excited as i already am!
Thank you, love your personality!

I'm in Panama now and I'd say there are a few updates worth having about Panama City. They now have a new metro system and the buses are good. Fares are very cheap. So I wouldn't avoid public transport. Uber is also available if you prefer.
I just went backpacking across Panama! Another thing is to make sure you're getting enough water! I just got back as I had vlogged there last week, and I realized how dehydrated I was. I didn't realize the sun hits much stronger there than it does here in the U.S. - Just a top, hope it helps! :)
really informative video, think I might have to add panama to the bucket list!

Hey! Thanks for the tips, very helpful! I'm planning to go to Panama and I was wondering if it's safe to travel as a woman alone, who also speak no spanish ;)
Hey! Did you take anti-malarials for your whole Central America trip? Based on the Fit for Travel website, it seems like they are only recommended in Northern Nicaragua. Also, did you find that hostels have mosquito nets or take your own?
If you ever come back, you should try and see the area of San Blas. Most beautiful islands, same as Bocas del Toro.
I love your videos! And your eyes are gorgeous btw!

I was wondering if you ever wanted to take a trip to Oslo. If so I have two nice couches if you need a place to stay. :) just a idea. Keep posting videos. It's inspiring :)

+Jana on the move Hey Jana, I wouldn't stay in Panama City longer than a few days. I was there in March and weather was a bit hit and miss!

You are too cute. I'm going to Costa Rica and Panama for a month but not sure whether to start in Costa Rica and work down or start in Panama and work my way upwards. What do you think? Your videos are awesome x

Adam I just do temp work when I'm at home to save up for whatever my next adventure is so I'm not tied down to any work - I'm making a couple of videos about this soon though!
Is the airport easy to navigate?
Hey, you may have mentioned it in previous videos, but do you usually travel solo? You use the term 'we' a lot when talking about some of your amazing adventures. I have always wondered if you are implying that you have met friends at your hostels.

I really look forward to hearing it. Planning Europe mid next year, then onto Central and South America :D Thanks!
Panama City has Uber, which I hear is quite safe and reliable if you're ever in these less developed parts of the world.
Did you get a bus ticket out of Panama prior to arrival? I hear its mandatory prior to entering. I'm thinking of backpacking central America this summer but I want come one way through Panama and the other through Mexico.

I did not have my bus ticket out of Panama, it is not mandatory, just tell them what your plan is :)

I love how you started your video by saying you weren’t being sponsored so what you were saying was honest….therefore, my powers of deduction tell me you don’t believe in anything you promote…..hmmmm, maybe don’t promote things 🤷♂️ integrity.
