I appreciate your tips, but I think you haven't really experienced the Panama Canal, unless you've sailed it. I haven't been yet myself, but I've been trying to visit for a few years now, and I see many reasons why Panama would be a good introduction country to Central America, especially for Americans. But you are correct that at least Panama City seems much more expensive compared to other places in Central America, though I think Costa Rica is more expensive, especially tours and national parks. At least in Panama, it seems you're paying more, but getting higher quality. But it's very difficult to find high quality accommodations in Casco Viejo at a budget price. Like you said, if you wanna be in a better location, you have to be willing to pay for it. Only ONCE was I able to find a cheap deal to Casco Viejo. I DO think Panama is a little expensive for Central America, but you have to remember that the U.S. dollar is the national currency. There's a lot of U.S. investment and expats, and the Panama Canal Zone was once a U.S. colony, so the region has been influenced a lot by American culture, such as taxes and tipping. At the same time though, you do have that modernity, that other Central American countries lack. I ain't paying for that rooftop view though! It's FREE! FREE on the rooftop view!😂

Very well explained, I definitely see why it is more expensive but it wouldn't stop me from going there again! I loved Panama City! 😍

Very nice and interesting video! I hope you are enjoying your journey through Central America and I wish you a lot of amazing experiences! :-) (BTW, how did you solve the problem with the proof that you are not going to stay in Panama ? Is a return air ticket from another country back to yours OK too ? I hope I do not need to have an air ticket right from Panama.. ?)

Thank you so much 😊 Well, I always ensure I have a ticket to the next country before I land. Sometimes when I am not sure about the dates I book flexible tickets so I can change. This is a very good question: Is a return air ticket from another country back to yours OK too? - I wonder myself! I have never risked and tried.

@@AlikiTravelBlog Thank you for your reply. Well, I have never been to Panama, so not sure there. But in Peru,Ecuador, Argentina, Bolivia etc. we always crossed all borders by land, so we did not have any air tickets out of those countries and we have never had any problems there. Hope it will work out in Panama too.

@@AlikiTravelBlog Really ?! And did you fly between the countries or did you travel by land? If you travelled by land, what tickets did you use as a proof of leaving the country? I hope the entry requirements have not got stricter since I was there last time (2017)...

@@luciesukova4112 flights and land. I traveled by land to Bolivia from Peru. I had flights already to Brazil for that one. not sure...was quite strict when I traveled a year ago. They asked for proof at every entry - land border or airport.
