Another tutorial on backgammon play for getting just beyond the basics. Here, I look at some more opening rolls, with some more elements to consider.

Thanks for your fantastic tutorials - so helpful for beginners like me. Could you please do one on what to look for in a backgammon set and make some recommendations about brands etc?
Thanks for the tips!
I really like your thoughts on the 2,3 roll. It's one of the rolls I tend to struggle with, but I'm excited to try some of your ideas out.
@KripDrip Because it would be a terrible move :) A common beginner mistake, is to over fixate on leaving checkers safe. Playing to the 6 point does nothing for your position, other than giving you an overly heavy point on the 6 point. Bringing the 2 down gives you a useful builder for making important points and potential hits on later turns, and it's hardly very vulnerable out there on the 11 point, is it?
How do you feel about playing an opening 4-3 like an aggressive 4-1? Slotting the 5 point with equal chance of making the point next roll. Do you find that leaves you too vulnerable behind the bar once you make the 5 point?
thank u for very interesting and useful videos , can u recommend me some online backgammon tournaments for real money?
On a 4, 3 opening, why wouldn't you go 13/9 and 8/5? You're starting the 5, and putting a builder behind it.
