I'm a 27 year veteran California Police Officer and "eating in public" is NOT a crime in California. Now it may be a City Municipal Code Violation in certain cities. But Municipal Code Violations are usually a fine. But it's obvious that they wanted to take him to jail, so that's why that Officer came up with that "resisting arrest" bullshit. I'm guessing that Detectives are looking at him for a more serious crime and they told these Police Officers to find something to arrest him for so they can question him. As Detectives will often tell Patrol Officers to find something to arrest a person for so they can interview them. And "eating in public" is the best thing that these two idiots could come up with. These Police Officers should be embarrassed. And if "eating in public" is not illegal where they're at, then they should be prosecuted for violating this Man's Civil Rights!

Once arrested, you have been CHARGED with a crime ,regardless of whether you are convicted of that crime. Job applications will usually ask if you have ever been CHARGED with a crime and a Separate question if you have been convicted of a crime. A CHARGE of resisting arrest is a BIG problem for a citizen. You don't want to be CHARGED with any crime. Excellent video!!

In California if you are driving an out of state car and have a out of state license you can be arrested and your car seized.
