My baby was posterior! Nothing to compare it to but it was FAST! 4 hours in labour, pushing for 10 mins and no one knew he was back to back until his head was out! My husband said “he’s got eyebrows!” And the midwife rushed over and said “ahhh that makes a lot of sense… keep pushing!”. 4 pushes and he was out! I had no intervention and amazingly I gave birth laying on my back! Our bodies are amazing 😻

I just had my OP baby vaginally last month! I'm still processing this. I actually am so happy to find this video. I am literally the strongest woman I know and it's been hard for me to process the amount of pain I went through. We did all the labor at home as we were planning a home birth and after 13 hrs, my midwives and I opted to go to the hospital for an epidural or possible c-section. I rode in the back of the car screaming on my hands and knees which I think is what helped my baby move along. Because when we got to the hospital, i had my sunny side up baby 30 minutes later. I didnt even get the drugs! I was totally upset in the moment but so happy after that I had the natural birth I wanted. Didn't have her at home but that's okay. I am freaking powerful and I worked hard for this baby

My daughter was a back labor baby and was turned the wrong way, and I had them bring out the mirror so I could watch the pushing process because it was taking so long and I needed motivation, and THEN she literally turned and came out on the next push but since she was so close everyone in the room saw her turn. It was INSANE!!! She’s my first so that was like the craziest thing in the world to me lol

My second and third were both OP. Definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I was a week overdue with my third and was getting (I think it’s called) the stress test and the baby’s heart was decelerating with every contraction so I had to go in. I pushed for three hours with my third after being in labor for about 2 days. Wish I would’ve had someone like you there!

Thank you so much for this video. My midwife is trying to scare me into a repeat c-section because my baby is sunny side up. "Oh, you're in for a long, hard labor." "baby is big you sure you wanna try to push her out?" It's honestly exhausting. I want to have a vbac. I will have a vbac.

First baby i had an emergency c section because my sunny baby got stuck on my pelvis and wasn’t going to get out. It great to know all the info in this video to prevent that happening again in a few days (41wks2days) definitely making sure I’m keeping his back to my belly this time 🙃.

My youngest(soon to be middle, I'm 21wks with our 3rd girl🥰) was sunny side up. It was sooo much harder to push her out then my 1st delivery. I was so confused why my 1st delivery was so much easier then my 2nd time around. I was 10cm for so long and had pressure but she just wasn't coming down. I pushed for almost 2hrs, had an epidural but it wasn't working at all. I'm almost scared to deliver this baby, praying that this doesn't happen again!😬 thank you for these tips! 🥰

I gave birth to my baby girl in 2018 and had a back labor. I pushed for 6 hours and had so much back pain. My doctor wanted to send me to have c-section and I asked her to help me with a vacuum and on the first contraction with the help of the vacuum I was able to delivery my baby. I wish I knew more about this subject and could prepare better.

I'm in early labor with my third boy. Both of my previous boys were born OP but I never had back labor with them. This baby is very different. I am having a lot of back labor and pain. My guess is that he is OP as well because I have never gone longer than 37 weeks pregnant (I'm 36 weeks and 5 days today).

First baby at 20 was back labor, no painkiller at all. Back pain so bad, thought I was dying for 15 hours. Was told later that reason I had such back pain during labor and for 11 months after birth (sitting to breastfeed was impossible) was that my tailbone broke during labor. They removed my tailbone 11 months after birth, but sitting pain has continued and now (at 67) worsened to when I lie down, burning through whole genital, perineal, and anal area. Am now told I had damage to pudendal nerve during birth and have pudendal neuralgia, NOT a broken tailbone at all. 😶

My favorite position to chill while 37w+4d is on my exercise ball! When I feel like I need some extra relaxation I roll out my yoga mat for knee padding and kneel over my ball, letting my belly hang. I’ll drape a towel over the ball so I can rest my head on it comfortably.

I have a scan tomorrow an I think it’s time I need to consider having my water broken, because I’m physically beyond exhausted nothing I’ve ever experienced before. Hoping you can help me gain some insight. I went into labor with my son (lost mucous plug, heavy bleeding). Took a shower at home and 1.5 hours later arrived at the hospital. I was 6cm. About an hour later I was ready to start pushing..that’s when they discovered he was OP. I pushed for 2-3 hours and he was here! I feel like if he hadn’t been OP, and his head hadn’t been in the 99th percentile, he would have been here MUCH sooner. Before I began pushing, the nurse told me to come to the hospital right away if I had any additional babies. I’m expecting baby number 2 this May, and I’m worried I won’t make the 30 min ride to the hospital. Legit concern?

How long did your unicorn-baby's mom push for? I had a sunny side up baby. I labored for total of 60 hours. I really tried for natural but ended up having to transfer from the birth center to the hospital for pain control and dehydration secondary to so much vomiting. I got the epidural for the last 18 hours. But the epidural was not effective the whole time ugh. Anyway I tried to push her out for 2 and a half hours and she didn't progress AT ALL so I ended up signing the consent and rolling into the OR. I was so disappointed with myself. SO disappointed. But I just wonder how long did this mama have to push her baby with the "unicorn" coning? I think back and wonder if I could have done it. I would have continued pushing but my nurse said I could possibly push for 5 hours and still need a c section anyway... Great video, thanks!

I had my 3rd baby on the 17th if this month and she was face up. It was so painful. I had the epidural and i.. it was just so bad and left me so traumatized. I was 38 weeks and 2 days when i went into labor on my own (first time ever!). I told my fiance (this is our second birth control baby) that unless he can guarentee that i wont get pregnant 100000% we are going to have a sexless relationship. Sure their is being snipped (both me and him) but ive hear so many stories of still having babies. I talked to my obgyn when after i had her and i said "i sware my epi didn't work and i feel like im crazy, i was in so much pain. I felt every except my stomach and my legs." And she goes "no you arent crazy. No amount of pain meds or anything can take that level of pain away." I never want to experience that again and we were talking about one more. Never again

I've only had 2 natural births, both Sunnyside up. The pain was worse than hell with doubling and trippling contractions. Pushed them both out in 10 minutes with episiotomies required to get them out the final bit of vag. Hah. But these were full body pushes and they turned sideways as their heads came out. 29 weeks pregnant with number 3 and doc thinks my pelvis might just make my babies Sunnyside up...so looking forward to an epidural this time. The pain is not worth it. They were 5 hours (7lbs 7 oz baby #1) and 5 hours 45 mins (9 lbs 6 oz baby #2) labors too. The intense doubling and tripplong contractions kept things moving but good Lord. I wonder how much better a normal facing baby feels.

The back labor was so intense I threw up from the pain. All natural births and pushed 3 times with my eldest and 5 times with my youngest. OP makes labor unbearable.

What if you are supposed to get a C-section but they come 3 weeks early. In the waiting room to get prepped for OR, to sign papers. They dont give you any options to try different positions. Is that normal? They made me lay down which is super painful but they didn't even try to push on my back, so I was screaming the whole time. Along with not telling me how to position myself to get the epi..along with a new anesthesiologist poking me all up my back. Is there anything I can do while waiting to go into the OR with no help?

Hi Mandy! Just subscribed to your page after going through a traumatic labor. I'm pretty sure he was OP. I had excruciating back and hip pain. I felt like my spine was being ripped apart. I was in labor for 30 hours and ended up having a c-section because I could not push him out after 3 hours. I received very little support from the nursing staff and left kinda disappointed that I couldn't have a vaginal birth. I'm planning to have another little one in the future. Is there a way to see if the baby is OP before labor via US? Thanks so much for your video! So informative. I wish I would have watched it prior to my labor!

I had my baby 9 months ago and wasn't prepared for back labor. I was in labor for 36 hours. Attempted home birth. Had back labor from the start. I couldn't even lie on my side or back. My midwife kept trying to get me to do so to spin the baby and I was SCREAMING. It was traumatic and miserable. I thought I was dying. Long story short she was ROP and took the long way around to turn and ended up LOP and stuck in my birth canal. I was transferred to the hospital at 30 hours. Begged for an epidural (which I was horrified about due to have back surgery when I was a teen) anyways got it and tried to labor for 6 more hours. Unfortunately needed a c section after that. It was a very traumatic experience. I'm now pregnant again and am going to do everything I can to have a vbac and not let fear get in the way. I want to make sure to spin my baby early hopefully. And use hypnobabies. As well as a TENS unit. Praying these things work together. ❤️

Update: I had my HBAC four months ago. It was so beautiful and redemptive! I used the hypnobabies course and that was one of the best tools ever! I listened to positive birth affirmations everyday. And when it came down to my birth, I was mentally ready knowing that we were made to give birth, and that I was safe! I used a labor tens unit from the UK and it was AMAZING. Those two things got me to pushing, I was crowning and my husband didn't even believe me, until my midwife showed up (even though I was pushing the whole time.) 🤣 Having the babe be in opitimal position is a game changer! It made labor go so smoothly. Spinning babies, chiro, and aquastretch helped me so much! But yeah, it was such a lovely peaceful birth! And left me so excited to give birth again!

That was me with #1! Extreme pain before I even got to 4cm. All in back. Pushing three hours. Needed to be turned physically by registrar to get him out! Hard core!

All 3 of my kids were op until pushing, so they moved last second. I also have android pelvis, so the shittiest one to have. All kids around 9lbs. Calling the back pain "somewhat painful" is the understatement of the history. I have VERY high pain tolerance, and when I had my 3rd child all natural the pain was soooo painful I begged someone to kill me. With no joke, all seriousness. 0 pain or tightness in my belly. ALL in my lower back. Did any of the nurses or midwives give me tips or advice how to deal with this? No. Not a single one. 🙄 #1 was ~56hrs #2 was 16hrs #3 was 4hrs.

Why don't people make precise videos rather than boring people with unnecessary stuff...
