Yes! I chose a midwife for both of my births. I chose to be unmedicated for both, and I did not want to have an IV because they are incredibly painful and give me hematomas every time. Every OB I have seen did not make me feel like they would support me in my goals for not using medication, and even actively tried to persuade me that I couldn’t do it in one instance. I have only had good experiences with midwives, and both times I labored and birthed in a side lying position.

I Decided to go to a midwife, due to my work taking me off and canceling my health insurance. My husband and i were forced to pull a personal loan to go to a midwife! I feel it is an amazing choice we both made. This is my first pregnancy! I did a ton of research before making my final decision. I decided to do a water birthing! I heard it less stressful for mom and baby when born. Also i feel its better to birth more naturally for how my body wants too!

We’re currently trying for #2 but with the first baby we had a midwife and it was great, we were military at the time and our main options were midwife, we were also a group of pregnant women that met each time together with the midwife and got to bond and learn together. We also did get individual visits with our midwife but I felt a midwife listened more to my concerns. I also birthed on my back and it was terrible. Broken tail bone and a 3rd degree tare. I will never ever do that again. Looking forward to taking your birth class when we finally do conceive and learning more. Thank you so much for your channel learning so much already!!

I find if they are sitting up right and pushing the baby has trouble coming under the pelvic bone. I like hands and knees squatting pushing, I like having them push on their side or put the back of the bed up and let them lean on it on their knees with pushing.

I gave birth laying down on my back and I’m wondering if that is why I was having trouble at the end when my baby was crowning . The doctor had to use a vacuum and it unfortunately came off my babies head which caused his scalp to open.

Yep, ended up happening to me. Taken to er, after midwife, then hit 10cm by then, epidural (issues with midwife), baby's heart rate dipping, oxygen mask, suction device to get him out.

So I said I’d update on my conversation with my doctor! He said that he doesn’t mind what position I’m in to give birth, he did say if I have an epidural, there are some limitations obviously, but otherwise I can do what feels right for me! Pretty pumped for labor and delivery now.

I’m 35 weeks pregnant and a ftm with plans to give birth at a hospital. I am becoming increasingly more and more nervous about giving birth and especially giving birth at a hospital. This video is confirming what I knew but also making me more anxious that my birth will be harder than it needs to be. I couldn’t secure a hospital tour so I have no idea what supports they have or anything like that. I saw your video for a faster labor and birth but wanted to ask if you could provide any tips for positions that do not involve a ball or any props that may not be available at a hospital. I want an unmedicated birth if I can handle it- with little intervention as possible.

I gave birth at a Kasier hospital, had midwives throughout my pregnancy but had a doctor deliver my baby, which was odd to me but okay. Anyways I was having trouble pushing my son out so I asked them if I could squat & they brought out a squatting bar & everything which made baby crown very quickly. But then they kept telling me to lay back to make space for baby. No! Baby had enough space & they physically forced me to lay on my back. Which I had trouble pushing again btw. I was going through so much so I felt I didn't really have a say-so. Horrible. The nurses that night were somewhat demanding of how I was going about my labor. Now pregnant with second baby & want to be more firm with what I want.

Thank you! Lol I was wondering if there is any laws on birth plans? Of course if mine or my baby's lives are at risk I would let them change some things around but I really want to stick to a plan so there are no questions when the time comes. I was able to go without an epidural my first pregnancy but they still kept offering it to me which made me feel almost as I should get it. I would definitely want them next time to not even mention it. Also they had a problem with my yoga ball because they wanted me hooked up to the monitor the whole time, I finally got a nurse to say yes & I was able to sit on it for a couple of hours doing my thing, lol. Last complaint, they gave me pitocin when I didn't ask for it & without even telling me. They mentioned it to me at first but the doctor said no that I was already going quickly, but yet they still gave it to me! Lol definitely don't want to get it next time. That labor was only 7 hours from me waking up from water breaking (minor, minor contractions) to popping baby out. I was 6 cm when getting to the hospital an hour after water breaking so I don't know how much faster they could have possibly wanted it to go. I'm definitely going to do a birth plan this time but I always wondered what are its strengths & weaknesses because I don't want to go through this again because as uneducated as I was. Long message sorry, just wanted to let you know where I am coming from. Definitely interested in the class & have always loved your channel. You were the one that inspired me to get a yoga ball for easier / faster labor. 😁💕
