Totally agree! I'm being treated for mild depression and Bach (and other classical music) is essential to my psychological warfare! IN other words, helps keeps the 'black dog' at bay.

Love Bach! My favorite concerto is Bach's in C minor (first one in this recording), that I played with my piano teacher for my piano recital when I was a senior in high school. (That second movement is sublime, and SO fun to play!) It is medicine. It is healing. It is magic.

I always listen to Bach's music with full of joyful and touchable tear in my eyes. So heavenly beautiful.

Well, you can bet Johann wasn't staring at his cell phone all day to have created the most magnificent music ever created by the human race! And performed to absolute perfection too!

Both pianists, D. Ránki & E. Klukon give brightness and dynamism performing Bach's piano concertos. The orchestra's melody rhyming along the piano's musical notes give an exquisite and captivating resonance of beauty. Great Conductor. Sonorous and majestic Rendition!

A unique perfomance: both the soloiist are SPLENDID they quarrel disscuss agreee with each other and orchestra, they talk and they listen to each other with care and sensibility. Perfection understaning vivid if not hot temperament at times, I dare to say hot and cold alternatingly as I could only hear this in my head and never on the stage: you made my day no matter that my body may be mouldering for some time already Hochachtungsvoll Johann Sebastian Bach.

Es un deleite escuchar siempre al genio de Bach en cualquier instrumento, lo que me apena no saber que la mayoría de los escuchas que comentan su experiencia son de origen no latino o de habla hispana, la cultura es universal pero no selectiva a un país, se pierden sensibilidades supremas los pueblos sensibles como México de donde soy

Es común que la gente no acceda a este tipo de música en México, o bien, que los medios de información limiten la variedad de la misma, de ahí la responsabilidad social que tenemos de darle el debido lugar a uno de los genios de la música clásica, sin quitar el mérito a las composiciones mexicanas de calidad...

Sergio Mora Cuanta Razón señor sergio en Uruguay donde vivo Brasil y Argentina la "masa" de población no tiene noción de lo que es la música clásica calma el alma y tranquiliza hasta al mas egocéntrico Bach es magnifico en todo su armonía es única, es lamentable pero cuando estas personas escuchan música clásica mismo sin conocer nada ni autor nada les gusta ! Y no es porque no haya educación ni nada es que no es de cultura latina una pena !

Matias Nicolas Somos afortunados Matías Y Doctor porque cuando fuimos tocados por la magia de esta música le damos sentido a nuestras vidas, no todos lo perciben, se los deseamos, porque es mejor morir escuchando estas notas que hacerlo en silencio y sordos por no atraparlas y hacerlas nuestras, educando al oido dejando de escuchar demasiada música popular que distorsiona el valor de los clásico y perfecto como Bach, Mozart, Haendel, Mendelshon, VIvaldi y porque no Chopin, saludos y felicidades, pareciera que fuimos escogidos por Dios.

Helma Stultjens maar natuurlijk Helma, wil ik dat niet zeggen. Het kwam alleen niet bij me op dat JS Bach ook tot jullie muzikale wereld behoort. Wel klassieke muziek in het algemeen, maar niet speciaal de Grote Meester. Dus leuk om weten dat dat dus anders is.

Absolutely splendid performance! I loved the rapid tempo in the 3rd movement. Favorite passage around 10:15 - nicely done trills despite the rapid tempo. The video is a few milliseconds off vs. the sound, which detracts a little. Overall, great musicianship and a fantastic celebration of Johann Sebastian Bach. Bravo!

Lovely playing, very lively. Sometimes rather fast tempos, but I like it that way. The part with the really quick piano runs (and then thrills) from about 10'52" is amazing!

you are right it is lovely!!iv just uploaded a full symphonic piece with a real full orchestra let me know what you think you seem like you know music.

Well, first, I must inform the next matter. Many Bach researchers insist that this harpsichord concerto came from the concerto for oboe and violin (BWV-1060). Therefore, we have to comprehend that this was the music work of arrangement. Bach frequently did such behavior. For example, for lute, Bach had arranged the 2nd movement fugue of the unaccompanied violin sonata. And then, he had made a nice tune of lute..... ( BWV-1000). The next would be my personal opinion, I agree that the usage of grand pianos on behalf of harpsichord. Because, the expression of piano is stronger and clearer than harpsichord. Incidentally, Glenn Gould was also doing that. In addition, having listened to those grand pianos at heaven, J.S Bach might be pleased. And I think this piano performance at KZread is awfully good. Of course, I admit those who love harpsichords. From Tokyo

Ok it was written for the harpsichord- and then it should be a viol, a violon, and the smaller string instruments of yesterday if you really want to make it authentic. Just enjoy the music for crying out loud.

While we're at it, there are some areas, where the contrapuntal rhythms (ensemble playing) between the pianos and the orchestras were not crisp or clear enough. One note was not correct. Beautiful middle movement though.

Thank you for your precious comment. I think these are pretty difficult and delicate matters. Well, because English is not mother language to me, I can't guarantee whether I could understand sufficiently what you remarked. By the way, I've read various musical document. As a result, I comprehended that Bach had learned about various concertos from Italian composers like Vivaldi. But I am told that he didn't compose original harpsichord concerto at all. Bach's every Harpsichord concerto had come from other concertos such as his several violin concertos or concerto for oboe & violin . But I've been told that the score of the latter wasn't found until now. Anyway, regarding J.S Bach, I have to study more.
