Nine year old video. Su (the main singer) is 25 now the other two, Moa and Yui are 23 (born two weeks apart - Yui has since left the group and has recently been replaced by 20 yr old MOMOMETAL) ) . They are a phenomenal band and have such a diverse range of music under their belt. Su can sing anything and even raps on one incredible song. The cute factor has been toned down a bit as they matured into adult women but it is definitely still there and they continue to blow fans away with their virtuosity to this day. If you like beautiful singing try the more recent “Monochrome’ and then the alternative “first take” version of the same song. You’ll realise they aren’t a flash-in-the-pan gimmick so many wrote them off as back in the day…..they are the real deal.

This was recorded in december 2013, and the girls were 14/16/14. They are now 23/25/23. One of the little girls left (Yui) and they recently changed her (for Momometal, who is 20). So yeah, if you are from 1997 they are your age. Now, not 10 years ago xD Actually this was recorded in a concert called Legend 1997, because it was a celebration of Su (the singer) 16th birthday.

Babymetal is a two language play on words. Japan loves those. Babymetal in Katakana looks nearly identical to Heavy Metal. It's not Kpop Metal it's Jpop Metal. Specifically the kind of Jpop is Japanese Idol. Kpop is everywhere but Jpop is very underrated. This is an old video. You were born in the same year as their lead singer. The others Yui and Moa are a year and a half younger.

Japanese 🇯🇵 not Korean. Japan has a long history of rock and metal music, Korea not so much. The J-Rock and J-Metal scenes are big and western rock/metal bands have toured Japan since at least the 1970’s. In fact, the band Cheap Trick reached stardom from their 1978 live album recorded at the Tokyo Budokan. There are currently many great bands including Lovebites, Nemophila, Gacharic Spin, Asterism, and my personal favorite BAND-MAID (& BAND-MAIKO 😂)!! You should check all of them out, but start with the Maids: - “Freedom” - official live video Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🎸🥁🎤🎼🇯🇵😀✌🏼

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey 🦊🤘🔥 Now they got a metalverse but that's a more recent era so highly recommend to just wait to get there but in case you wanna know, they already released 5 singles from recently released album "The Other One", this month they will join Sabaton's Europe Tour as a special guests, they also announced a World Tour including US Festival like Blue Ridge, Louder Than Life and Aftershock this year, so get ready for more coz you don't wanna miss the opportunity to see this group live if you got the chance. Dance choreography and metal had never been seen before and they somehow managed to make it works creating their unique own genre called kawaii-metal, mixing Jpop (not Kpop) and heavy metal along with many more sub genres and rhythms, you'll have so much fun going through this journey and the energy won't stop. However this isn't actually live version, is studio album version over a live performance which was partially live only on the vocals and choreography with backing track sound. They have their own band called Kami Band introduced later on that same show and after that Kami Band become regular at live performance. The band you saw here are called "baby-bones" and they're wearing skeleton costumes while air playing so this isn't a real band but they were helpful during early era to bring some show. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute), mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. The name is pun intended play of words with heavy-metal which pretty much sounds similar to BabyMetal, is also to represent the birth of a new genre. They are: *SuMetal* (lead vocals), now 25. *MoaMetal* (scream and dance), now 23. *YuiMetal* (scream and dance, former member since 2018) *MomoMetal* (scream and dance), she is 20 and is officially the new member since last weekend. None of them are related. This was in December 2013 at SuMetal 16th Birthday, the other girls had 14 yo and there was a big party you have seen nothing yet, wait for "Babymetal Death" Some recommendations for next songs like: - _Catch Me If You Can_ live at Budokan 2014 (you got a safe to react version with subtitles at GuilhermeCait channel) or... - _Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!_ live at this same live performance Legend 1997 in Makuhari Messe Japan when SuMetal is celebrating her birthday becoming a metal goddess queen and leaving her idol jpop form (you can find one at Gans Tomas channel under "Head Bangya" title). They just want some chocolate and they're worried about weight like any other normal girl, simple like that and just to have fun, but you're gonna find more meaningful lyrics in others songs, trust me. See you next time! 🦊🤘🍫

I don't need to watch her "Ghosy Love Score" reaction to know that within moments, it was invaded by the Nightwish Army, led by Gabe, who gave a massive info dump on the band, who have a long history. And nothing wrong with that. They do it with bands people have a lot of questions about. In fact, I'm willing to bet that @jakemuller8626 probably has a document saved, since that was all pretty precise, and he probably shares that a lot.

Thanks for this reaction. From the low vocals of Jinjer to the high vocals of Babymetal, those are some extremes. 🙂 Yeah, as others pointed out, K-Pop is (South) Korean Pop and Japanese Pop is called J-Pop. Babymetal has a mix of J-Pop with metal, but their discography is really broad.

@@InnaSoloMusic Its an incredible story. You literally see them grow up in front of you. All of their earlier gigs were performed without support acts and started earlyish and were over quite early. This was because they had to comply with local child protection laws which limited the hours young people could work and at what times. Check out Black Babymetal especially Onedari Daisakusen. There were a few songs that Yui and Moa performed without Su. This is the most famous. Also their first ever MV Doki Doki Morning. Then you will really see just how young they were when they first started.

Nice reaction. welcome to the foxhole. What did you just get into? The happiest place in metal. That's all. Some info on this song. The music heavy right off the bat. Then you get Yui and Moa making what is the sounds kids in Japan make for guns. And they hold their hands in gun shapes. Which means they're not asking for chocolate they're demanding it. In a kid friendly kawaii fun sort of way. They act out a lot of their lyrics in the choreography for their songs. It helps in the translation. Since they sing mostly in Japanese. As the song goes, they hold off on eating it because they worry about their weight. But as you've seen they burn a lot of calories on stage. No real worry there. And as all kids will do. They eat the chocolate, and it makes them so happy they trumpet about it. Once again you can see that play out in the choreography and this time you can hear it reflected in the music as well. This is the video that made them internationally known. I like to suggest starting from their beginning with Doki Doki Morning. And then you can just go through their discography. Going from oldest to newest. This way you can grow with the band. Literally since they started so young. You already got some info that this show was for Su-metals 16 birthday. If you like to mix up what you're listening to. Babymetal is right up your ally. Over ten years later from when they started. And there's nothing like Babymetal but Babymetal. Enjoy the journey through the Foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music.

Thanks for your video! Finally we got to BABYMETAL ))) It makes no sense to understand what genre it is, because... not everyone, but many of their songs have different genres to reach as large an audience as possible. What exactly, it seems to me, is one of the meanings of this project. But regardless of the song, any performance of these ladies is a awsome show wich was created a lot of talented people whether they are composers, musicians, choreographers, special effects specialists and others. You may like it or not, but any case it's interesting to watch them and any person who first heard about them will definitely be surprised more than once, watching their live shows. Let's keep going! :) But one hint, it's better to get acquainted with their music in the order in which the releases were. They started in 2014 and their creativity changed along with their age. From 15-17 years to 24-26, respectively.

Babymetal is a fusion of metal and Japanese pop, and any other genre they decide to throw into the mix. They established the new genre of metal as kawaii metal. This is a studio version of the song off their self-titled first album which was released in 2014, and the footage from that concert is from the Legend 1997 concert, which was to celebrate the lead singer Suzuka Nakamoto's (Su-metal) birthday who just turned 16 at the time, she's currently 25 and they just released their fourth studio album The Other One. The other two girls which are dancing and doing backup vocals are Moa Kikuchi (Moametal), and Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal), both 14 during that concert. Yui left the group a number of years back due to health reasons, and the new person in her spot is Momoko Okazaki (Momometal). My recommendation for the next song to react to is Karate, a single off their second album, but from the more recent concert from 2021 that was held at Budokan before they had taken a break. The YT video is titled BABYMETAL -「KARATE」Live at Budokan 2021 [字幕 / SUBTITLED] [HQ]. I am very much in the camp, that while the old songs are good and worth reacting to, it really is best to see them performed live more recently when possible. While old concerts are still good and fun, and the girls were excellent artists then, they really have progressed as artists as they grew up. If you are curious to see what this same Gimme Chocolate song is like performed at a recent concert, it was performed at the same Budokan 2021 concert, and the video is titled BABYMETAL - Gimme Chocolate!! Live at Budokan 2021 [SUBTITLED] [HQ].

Welcome to the foxhole and I am glad you enjoyed the song. It went viral in 2014 and made them known outside of Japan (no kpop here but jpop). It was filmed in December 2013 to celebrate Su-metals 16th birthday and was named after her year of birth “Legend 1997” (you share them same yesr of birth, what a coincidence xd). She is the lead singer and is supported by Yuimetal (retired in 2018) and Moametal, both born in 1999. The just released their first concept album “The Other One” but that is something for later, when you know their earlier songs better. Gimme Chocolate:- Old school Thrash Metal. Combinations of Metallica "Fight Fire With Fire" and Slayer "Raining Blood". Heaviest, Brutal song about Chocolate. React to the song on late night show with Stephen Colbert. Old school metalheads can appreciate the metal, younger audience can appreciate the J Pop with a very catchy chorus. Gimme Chocolate!!:- "Gimme Chocolate!!" (ギミチョコ!!, Gimi Choko!!) is a song by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal from their self-titled debut album. Though it was not released as a single in Japan, the song became an international success, with its music video gaining over 143 million views on KZread. Later, it was released via earMusic in the United Kingdom on May 31, 2015 as a digital single. "GIMME CHOCOLATE!!" Single by Babymetal. •Album: Babymetal. •Language: Japanese English. •Released: May 31, 2015 (UK). •Recorded: 2013. •Genre: J-pop, heavy metal, kawaii metal. •Length: 3:52. •Label: earMusic. •Composer: Takeshi Ueda. •Lyricist: Mk-metal, Kxbxmetal. •Producer: Kobametal, Ueda (arrangement). Babymetal singles chronology:- •"Road of Resistance" (2015) . •"Gimme Chocolate!" (2015). •"Karate": (2016). Background and released:- The song premiered on December 21, 2013 at the Makuhari Messe Event Hall, nearly coinciding with Nakamoto's sixteenth birthday. The song was first released in Japan as part of the band's debut album Babymetal on February 26, 2014, with a live music clip of the premiere uploaded to KZread the day before, on February 25, 2014. The song received a release in the United Kingdom as a digital single. The band you saw are called "BABYBONES" and not a real band, they are actors mimicking playing the instruments over a backing track. BABYMETAL Live band are called KamiBand:- The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. They wore white robes and painted corpse face to resemble the dead spirit. All the Kamis have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult.

You can listen to twenty different Babymetal songs and they will show you twenty different things.

From the Babymetal Reactor Resource kzread.info/dash/bejne/o2hkuM-NeLbOZMY.html Going forward, if reactors want to keep reacting to the videos, I've come up with a solution that will make it possible to continue using the videos with logos that have already been tested against blocks. I've made a spreadsheet - docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZYdthVAHYaOAYL6AuhVOHotQinMoPPFEuspqDMIIGD4/edit#gid=0 with links to both the logo videos and the non-logo videos and are hosing them on a Russian social media site that won't remove them, and is out of the reach of the copyright trolls. There are a bit over 30 videos on there now, but I'll keep uploading more every day until they're all back up. I'll also be adding new videos that I'll test on an alt KZread account before adding to the spreadsheet. If you can't access the spreadsheet for whatever reason, here are direct links to both the non-logo videos and the videos with logos: No logos - ok.ru/video/c6630874 With logos - ok.ru/video/c7184602 For reactors that want to put your own logo over the videos, here is a link to the logos I use that are already made transparent - drive.google.com/file/d/1JUVfJGp36xR2n1FHl7PzRIxXhA5P4VyW/viewor you can use whatever logo you'd like. You can download the videos, which I recommend since the site can be a bit laggy sometimes, from this free website - sovid.net/ I recommend using the "HD" option when downloading to keep the file size reasonably small. Although there are other videos on my channel there, only use the ones on the spreadsheet because some of the other non-logo videos aren't KZread safe. Kitsunes UP!

Great first reaction and welcome to BABYMETAL! They started back in 2010 as a sub-unit of a j-pop (they are Japanese, so no k-pop) idol group as a fusion between j-pop and metal called kawaii metal and originating their own genre. Actually, their name is not about their age (although when they started in 2010 they were 12 and 11 years old so, it probably had something to do). And yes, they are gen Z. The name was chosen for two main reasons: - To symbolize that they gave birth to a new genre of metal music (kawaii metal). - Because the writing (and pronunciation) in Japanese is very similar to the writing of "heavy metal" (and they love puns): BABYMETAL = ベビメタル (be-bi-me-ta-ru) heavy metal = ヘビメタル (he-bi-me-ta-ru) This MV has the studio audio over the visuals from the show "Legend 1997" held on December 21st 2013, the day after SU-METAL's (Suzuka Nakamoto, the lead singer) 16th birthday. YUIMETAL (Yui Mizuno) and MOAMETAL (Moa Kikuchi) were both 14 at the time. "Gimme Chocolate" is a fun song about the girls wanting to eat chocolate but being a little worried about gaining some weight. Funny lyrics, cute vocals but the instrumentals are so freaking metal, with a very thrashy and industrial sound, guitars tuned down, crazy riffs and killer solo. And that juxtaposition is the point of the whole concept. Here is something from the same show but fully live: "Headbanger" (Live at Legend 1997): kzread.info/dash/bejne/g3mnscOGkrGsp9o.html Until next time!

Well, no, it would be J-Metal rather than K-Metal, as it's Japanese, not Korean, but this is not J-Metal. J-Metal is generally far more brutal, beastial and disturbing. Their backing band (Kami Band) is J-metal. This is called Kawaii (cute) Metal. If this is from the Legend of 1997 tour, then I believe the singer (Su-metal) is 16, in which case the other two (Yue-metal and Moa-metal - Yue is no longer with them) would have neem 14. They're all in their 20s now. I think they were 15 and 13, or possibly 14 and 12 when they started. They did actually start out as a J-pop group, but then they met the Kami Band and haven't looked back.

What does it matter how old they are.? Its about the MUSIC. Why are you so distracted by their age?! What about the musicianship, composition, vocals and show, all of which are top level? Those things matter, not their age.

Sugoi! The girls were 11 & 12 years old when they started in BABYMETAL. They are lead singer Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, now 25), Moametal (Moa Kikuchi, now 23), and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno, now 23). Yui left the group in 2018. The newest member, just revealed a week ago, is Momometal (Momoko Okazaki, 20 years old). They invented their own genre called "kawaii" (cute) metal, a mix of J-pop and metal. BABYMETAL has been highly successful and are most known for their LIVE performances. More please! Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult #kawaiimetal #metalAF

Here are some fun facts about this song and the group 1. Gimme Chocolate was named one of the most important metal songs of the last 10 years 2. Dragon Force performed this song with BabyMetal 3. The Red Hot Chili Pepper performed this song with them. 4. They are buds with Metallica and Slipknot 5. They had a cameo in Corey Taylor's video 6. They performed the Judas Priest classics Pain Killer and Breaking the Law with Rob Halford of Judas Priest 7. They are the only Asian group to ever hit #1 on Billboards Top Rock chart. 8. BabyMetal and Black Pink are the only albums by girl groups in history to enter the Top 10 of Billboard’s World Albums Year End Chart. 9. In a recent interview Corey Taylor of Slipknot was asked who he listened to at home and he said "BabyMetal" 10. In 2015 Vogue Magazine Japan named them Women of The Year. As for what to watch next: 1. Head Banger - Legend of 1997 - your will have to change your entire concept of audience reaction. Your headphones will fly off your head. 2. Road of Resistance Live in Japan - Generally considered one of the finest recordings of a live performance ever by anyone. 3. Pa Pa Ya feat. F. Hero When Metallica saw them live they said they were astonished by their awesomeness

Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊'Gimme Chocolate' was the video that went viral and got them noticed 9 years ago - that was largely because of the shock value when you get that heavy thrash opening, then the unexpected tone of Yui and Moa with their "atatatatatatata dukyun". Do not expect the next song you hear from them to sound anything like this one - they have about 60 songs now, they have songs using virtually every metal genre, but they will also mix in so many other musical styles and genres with the metal. Their origins were as a Metal-JPop fusion (they are Japanese, so nothing at all to do with KPop which is Korean), but they have evolved and developed so much since then. They started in 2010 aged 12 and 11. In the 12 + years since then they have become the biggest Japanese act internationally ... they are both original and unique, you won't find any other band quite like them. In live shows they are supported by the Kami Band, some of Japan's very best session musicians - early on they did not have the budget for a live band, so at some early shows they had the guys dressed in skeleton suits who were in this video (known as Babybones) pretending to play the instruments to a pre-recorded backing track. The Kami Band were phased in gradually from later 2012 playing at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows (including this one). They became the full time support for all live shows shortly after this concert, which was in December 2013 the day after Su-metal's 16th birthday. Try another song (always live if possible - this video had the studio audio) to get a better idea of what they are about - 'Road of Resistance' live in Japan isn't bad.

Great first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL started back in 2010 and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. Plus the 20+ awards they have been given. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too.🤘🦊🤘

Su, the lead singer was born in Dec 1997. So same age as you near enough? The music is best described as "bubblegum pop". Music melodies/vocals that are intentionally major (happy) sounding and catchy just for the sake of being so, and widely used in music aimed at children. Bubblegum + metal made a genre that some call Kawaii-metal (cute-metal). Today, Babymetal are actually surprisingly grown up in their sound and are a distinctly fusion band mixing additional genres into their sound. You could react to tonnes of their songs and they all have completely different vibes. Doki Doki Morning was the original song, the gimmick. The dudes in skeleton outfits are a mime band to fill out the stage. Guys with face-paint or masks are the later Kami band and when you see them, Babymetal are, for the most part properly live... and they are really, really good live. Watch Babymetal live.

I have a few questions for reactors tbh. Do you guys see when the videos were posted? Also I wonder why you guys first result to Kpop. They used to be a kawaii japanese metal band but now since they are in their 20s they have a different take on their music style. Still metal, just not Kawaii metal anymore. good reaction though i liked it.
