I have that record also. It was given to me by a gent that worked for the Edison Voicewriter office in downtown Philadelphia. I still have it and also noticed that this piece was edited to probably economize time on the LP.

Can't believe how good it sounds eventhough it is a cylinder player. Very good quality.

You have some govenor/drive issues on a truly wonderful phonograph. The recording would sound better if you would record with lid down. Show off that beautiful mechanism before playing.

Does it ride the groove? Does that keep it moving to the right?

No, the reproducer is stationary and the weight on the bottom and stylus only move up and down in the groove. The mandrel and the record mounted on it are moved horizontally at an even rate by a series of gears ending with threaded half nut moving across a threaded shaft.

Clarinet is very pronounced.

I know someone who has an original of this.
