I have to admit that in the direction the story is going now I'm getting interesed how G.I Joe and Autobots will eventually cross paths.

Working on that video along with the latest Void Rivals! I definitely have some things to say about TF #7!

I think Duke #5 will not only set up the G.I Joe team, but also set up the Destro series.

Agreed! I'm really looking forward to seeing more of the compendiums for GI Joe and Transformers.

The Energon universe is slowly but surly making me a G.I. Joe fan! I always liked the franchise (mostly watching Snake-eyes in Sigma 6, Resolute, the movies, and Renegades), but now I'm really liking the characters and ideas.

Nice! I'm really only familiar with the original comics/cartoon and the IDW run, so you've got more experience than me with some of the other continuities!

Masterful analysis as always MB3! This was my favorite issue so far, great action and reversals. This definitely has increased my interest in GI Joe and Duke in particular, and I think having Baroness on the side of the angels to start is a stroke of genius. IMO the most interesting Joe characters are the main Cobras, so throwing one in with Duke instantly got me interested. Side note, doesn’t match but I instantly thought of “Profit Director” Destro when I saw his SWEET 1970s suit. I remember you referenced that in the first vid, I’m really hoping that’s an ongoing gag with the character 😂

I agree, I think the Baroness situation is intriguing and a fun new twist. Hopefully Skybound feels the same way and will keep playing with that for a bit! I'm with you in thinking that the Cobra characters tend to be more interesting...here's hoping we'll get some interesting Joe characterization once the team is in full swing. That's a good observation about Destro's suit! The P.D. Destro thing slipped my mind while making this, but it's VERY appropriate for that swanky get up! I also hope they continue to make some indirect references to his "Profit Director" persona! 🤣

I’m looking forward to the upcoming Scarlett and Destro mini series. The Scarlett mini has me curious on if it will feature the first appearance of Snake Eyes into the Skybound universe, given their shared connection in most continuities, or if he’ll debut in his own mini.

I'm wondering that, too...it seems like Snake Eyes could show up based on the previews, but maybe they're saving him for even further down the line! I'm good with either option, personally.

Welcome back. Been missing these looks into the Energon Universe. Ironically I don't have much to say on this issue really. Other than to say I'm excited to see how this all wraps up. Really curious to know if Duke is gonna find out the truth that Mars isn't connected to Starscream in the next issue or later.

Thanks! Glad to be back doing these again. And I'm right there with ya - I feel like the poor guy has to learn the truth at some point. Although, it could be interesting to have Duke hold onto that incorrect notion for a ways into the future...could make for even more of a shock when the truth does finally come out!

I feel like Baroness was underused in this series, we get introduced to her at the end of the 2nd for backstory 3rd then 4th we see her get some action only to escape...most likely to Destro Series? I am interested in a one on one fight between Duke and B.A.T. though, from what I saw it only had a basic arm and a gripping claw arm, I hope we see it change its arms mid fight.

Yeah, I get what you mean. I do wish we got more from her, but there's only so much space when you're working with just five issues. Destro seems like the next logical place to see her pop up, but I guess we'll see. I'm definitely looking forward to the B.A.T. fight!

Thank you! 😃 And yes, I agree with you about Rise of Cobra. I think there's potential for an interesting dynamic between Baroness and Duke, but I definitely don't think Skybound should put them into a romantic relationship, as that did not work out so well before! 😂
