It's not Geddy Lee, it's Arjen Anthony Lucassen himself! Arjen!!! 🤘 The man with the flute is the legendary Thijs van Leer, you know him from Focus.

Ayreon songs are like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates - nobody knows what a particular song is going to sound like when they hear it for the first time.

That tall space hippie is Arjen, himself; the progenitor of this entire project. He is, definitely, a big fan of Rush and Geddy Lee. The Space Fleet is for the Narrator, John DeLancie, who played Q [Also played Discord on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic], up top.

The old dude on flute was Thijs van Leer, used tot play in a band called Focus. Another band from the 70ties. Great band, together with Jan Akkerman they were the founding fathers of that band.

Arjen is a big SciFi Fan. so it`s not sooo far to come in an Starfleet uniform to a concert ;). A lot of the Ayreon concept/story albums takes place in the Ayreon Universe with a global scifi story about the "Forever". It`s prog rock in my opinion, all is allowed ;).

This is one of my favorites from Ayreon, too, especially the whole instrumental part. I love how Arjen uses melodies and instrumentation like that, and I didn't catch the 5/4 previously.

Nice. One of my favorite songs too. Sometimes simple does the trick too.

Ayreon music is very varied, it can be metal, it's usually proggy but there are bluesy funky songs like this one too I can see it being your favorite given how you reacted to previous songs

And the amazing Q (John de Lancie) from Star Trek making the introduction. 8.2 is a decent score, I bet if you had been there you would score the whole concert above 9.5

Nice guess but this ain't Geddy, it's the 6ft 8ins tall Arjen Anthony Lucassen who composes all the Ayreon and Star One projects plus others. If you watch any of the Star One 2003 live concert he also plays guitar and only female singers are sisters Floor and Irene Jansen

Not Geddy. I know he seems lagger than life but Geddy is like 5 10. Pretty normal height.

Does Arjen's music maybe make you like long songs? Myself, I cannot stand the crap you get on radio stations anymore. A proper song needs time to evolve.
