Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s Prey: A Panel Discussion on Europe, Islam, and Women’s Rights

Recorded on June 11, 2021
Prey: Immigration, Islam, and the Erosion of Women’s Rights, Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s book on the explosion of sexual violence and harassment in Europe, was published in early 2021. Since then, the book has sparked a worldwide discussion online and offline about the immigration of huge numbers of mostly young Muslim men (more than 3 million, by some reports) to European cities and its effect on the women who live there. To discuss this phenomenon, explain why many of these young men feel empowered to harass women, and offer some possible solutions, Peter Robinson is joined by Prey author and Hoover Institution research fellow Ayaan Hirsi Ali; Valerie Hudson, a professor of political science at the Bush School at Texas A&M University and an expert on women’s rights and demographics; and Christopher Caldwell, a senior fellow at the Claremont Institute and the author of Reflections on the Revolution in Europe: Immigration, Islam, and the West, published in 2009, and The Age of Entitlement: America Since the Sixties, published just last year.

There is an inordinate amount of dancing around going on in this discussion. The crux of the matter, the necessary solution, whether KZread allows it to be written in a comment or not, has not even been discussed in any depth in this video.

Brilliant show, thank you. Listening to your panel proves, as always, how Western people simply can't express the truth like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who has lived the life and totally understands what she's talking about. I respect and love Ayaan for her bravery and truthfulness. An amazing woman and a true world treasure

Good to see that Ayaan’s still out there. She’s one of the very few to recognize that Islam is a religion, a culture, and a political philosophy with totalitarian implications, all at once. Since we in the West have long separated these things, we’re nearly incapable of grasping what Islam is.

I will add that I attended Utah State University in the 70s when the USA extended refuge to Iranian citizens suffering during their country's revolution. This was a huge cultural eye-opening experience for me. I experienced first hand the lewed, disrepectful attitudes and behaviors of Islamic men. It was appalling. Their behavior did not demean Me, I spoke volumes about who these men were.

Ms. Alli's is perfectly right in all she is saying. The problem with this conversation is that caucasian self imposed guilt is at play here, liberal Caucasians feel they have to give leeway to especially those of African and Muslim extract, in order to not appear racist or biased in dealing with racial, religious and cultural differences.

By the way, Africa is like the Garden of Eden for its ability to support agriculture. Sub-Saharan Africa has abundant water resources, large areas of useful land for agriculture, and mostly untapped resources. So they could absolutely feed and support themselves at least as well as the Europeans or Americans do for themselves. The frequent food crises in Africa have more to do with social issues than environmental or geographical ones.
