AWESOME Dental Sealant Procedure in HIGH DEF

In this video, a dental sealant procedure is demonstrated on a real patient. I have seen some other demonstrations using plastic dental models, but this is an actual procedure recorded. The video has been sped-up ~ 5 times speed.
There are plenty of different ways to do a sealant, but it is really important to start with a clean and dry tooth surface for best results. I use air abrasion to really clean the surface and remove any stains, plaque, and caries. This also improves the adhesion of the sealant to the tooth.
Keeping the tooth clean and dry during the procedure (AKA isolation) is critical to get the best long-term result for the sealant. The rubber dam shown in this video is the best and most ideal way to isolate the tooth during the procedure.
When sealants are done poorly, they can actually make the tooth more susceptible to leakage and cavities. The sealed tooth must prevent leakage and be easily cleaned without trapping food. I like to spend the time to make a few smaller applications of the sealant material to prevent any voids and get a really smooth surface.
Watch all the steps involved in the process for this REAL "simple" filling, or use the chapters below to jump to any section.

I know some like to cure their sealant material at the same time with their bonder. You did them separate, why is that? Do you notice better results curing separate
