Avoid This Mistake When Developing Your Editing Style

Creating an editing style that works for every season is a guaranteed way to ensure you create aesthetically consist images from season to season when colours, conditions, and subject matter change.
Developing a visual style or editing style is something all photographers strive for - it's that unique fingerprint that makes your photographs recognisable and aesthetically consistent from one image to the next. Developing this is especially important if you want to do photography professionally and it's totally fine if your style changes over time... mine certainly has!
In this video I talk about a simple approach to creating an editing style that relies less on colour grading and more on tonality, making it versatile regardless of the colours in your scene.

Thanks for watching and commenting! Yeah it definitely offers a lot of range and flexibility and allows you to shoot whatever you want instead of just being drawn to the same types of scenes/photos

You also started with the Adobe Color profile. That adds more saturation and contrast. Adobe Standard, Portrait, and Neutral offer more editable starting points for me.

Thanks for the tip Steve, really appreciate it! I've been doing a bit more experimenting with the colour profiles recently just out of curiosity! It's great to know you're enjoying the results of the profiles you mentioned - i'll definitely revisit those! Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏🏻
