    Daniel, if you haven't figured out the Bow Change, (if I understand the intention correctly) hold the note and hit the keyswitch while the note is playing. That tells the engine to do the bow change of the sustain. Exactly what you wanted earlier.

    I know a bunch of talented composers already do this, but would love to see you put out a course for composing. I love your teaching style and the way you work in these 'avin a look at videos, as well as type of music you seem to gravitate towards. I feel I could follow along better (and be more entertained) that some other admittedly excellent courses.

    @@DJLA Sorry, didnt watch the whole thing at once, just thought at this particular moment that the info might be valuable to share! Your modus operandi is in fact nearly identical to mine 😂even the small details like keeping your tracks labeled strings 1,2 etc. and tidying up the mess at a later point when my ADD monkey brain thinks that its time to get some order into the chaos

    The problem is not the slur, but the absence of normal legato.(?) In normal libraries I got it AND can easily add a slur, when needed (BBC, CSS, etc). Anyway: Your music is incredible beautiful and emotional and powerful !!!!!

    I think the level of portamento vs slur transition is dependent on how hard you hit the key. Also apparently there is a rebow, you need to press the sustain pedal and rehit the note.

  • @thisislance

    Small correction: It's actually just CC1. Velocity makes no difference. There have been a few other videos out there, posts at VI-Control, and comments in various Discord servers explaining the behavior, as well as people discovering/documenting at which CC1 values the slur level happens to change. I think people have said that staying below 80 keeps it to a minimum.

  • @AlonsoComposer

    @AlonsoComposer

    16 күн бұрын

    It's not designed to do runs, it can do some faster stuff such as repeated tremolos layered with legatos (as shown in this video) but no runs. For runs I'd get a dedicated library as pre-recorded runs always sound better. Cheers!

    I have Vista so of course the price is a no brainer. Whether I make the cost back in profits is no matter. I must have the good stuff and this certainly is the good stuff. Otherwise, why write? Thanks DJ.

    The always-on portamento at CC1 80+ quickly becomes tiring and repetitive to the ear. I removed Pacific from my template because of that.

    Great video as usual!! But do we really need another strings library? I'm surprised companies are still justifying releasing libraries like this. I think the VST world has strings fully covered by now. There are SO many other VSTs that could be created that would be much more useful. Better vocals are needed for sure, more ethnic vocals from real singers from that culture, not just another white girl trying to sing a certain "ethnic style". And how about a shamanic instrument pack. And if a company is bent on Strings, why don't they include lots of phases on each instrument? Things like The Orchestra are unique additions and deserve being purchased, but yeah for a normal strings VST, I see no reason to continue to buy these types of packs..
