He was actually almost on board for the first one. But he didnt like how the script was in its then current iteration so he walked away. Then RDJr came onboard.

I really hope not! Marvel's credibility is already doing poorly enough at the moment without adding people like Tom Cruise & Dwayne Johnson to degrade it even further. Besides, if RDJ is in it, I don't see Tom's ego prepared to be second fiddle to him since he will want all the good scenes and more screen time.

That wouldn't make sense since he's in his 60s. Unless he's playing an older version of Tony or even his dad, Howard Stark, it would be more logical to get someone younger since they will be playing the character for the next 10-20 years. And I'm pretty sure Tom would also want big pay checks for each movie as well which, since Marvel movies aren't doing so great at the moment, they can't really afford to offer their leads.

I was never particularly happy with them having to kill off RDJ's Iron Man in Endgame, but as long as we are indeed going to be seeing him one more time at least as a variant for Avengers 5/Secret Wars and they have him play a big part in saving the multiverse before any eventual soft reboot of the MCU, then it is one of those things I could learn to forgive in retrospect.

at 1:28 he said that steve rogers could possibly be dead, he is definately dead, we saw his funeral in falcon and the winter soldier

Ok hear me out remember in Endgame when Tony was secretly building the time travel device. What if he knew then about Variants specifically of himself. What if he warned his variant of this but didn’t tell anybody and wanted to let it play out hoping it wouldn’t happen and he would be alive. This could be a plot point for having him back

Wait what? I wish he doesn't return in Avemgers 5. If he returns in Secret Wars, it'd have way more of an impact. We really don't want people to feel like Marvel rehired RDJ cuz he should be their saviour and all. They should make an Avengers movie without RDJ first, to establish their capacity and show their capability. They should set up Sam Wilson to a be a great leader first. Then in Secret Wars RDJ can just pop up give some amazing scenes next to other fan favorite characters. If RDJ shows up in Avengers 5, who the hell's gonna care about characers like Sam? Just to be clear, all I wanted to say is RDJ has been there in every Avengers movie so far and then his character got sacrificed. So a variant of him returning in the very next Avengers movie is just like saying there's no hope without him and that's not true. Shang-Chi, Loki, Moon Knight, GOTG 3, WandaVision, etc, all worked really well without RDJ. Marvel can make good movies with good directors and writers. RDJ in Secret Wars? Sure! RDJ in Avengers 5? Please no! We all love RDJ, but there's proper time for everything to happen! On the other side, if the cameos include a few(I mean not a whole crowd) X-Men or Mobius and Sylvie or some legacy characters like Fantastic Four then I am all in! Just that RDJ, belongs in Secret Wars and he will kill it, it will be awesome, just gotta save him till then!
