Because the public were more welcoming to recasting back then than now. Nowadays, recastings are more obvious, which destroys the immersion, specially during binge watchings, if it doesn't have a reason why in the story for the character having a different face, voice and, sometimes, height and body shape, like in Doctor Who.

WM and hulk were recasted in the early mcu days i believe they are afraid that it could confuse general audiences. That can easily be fixed if they throw a cheesy line like "oh you look different" or remind them that variants can look different tho.

@BlinkNetwork889 there was definitely quite a bit of fan service and some moments that didn't fit but NWH didn't let that stuff overtake the heart of the story. It was genuinely compelling to watch Spider-Man fight to save his villains from their tragic fates despite everything it costed him. Basically the fan service in NWH feels more like a side dish than the main course.

Okay little rant here: An X-Men vs Avengers before Secret Wars simply isn’t feasible unless: Cut all upcoming D tier characters shows/films and focuses on their most popular long standing characters they have left. - Thor 5 to repair the perception of his character and introduce the gods finally and set him up to either sacrifice or close his story by Secret Wars. - Dr Strange 3 to continue his either villain arc or the consequences of him using the Darkhold, the incursion he caused, the multiverse and Clea. - Captain America needs to succeed and at a minimum crossover with Wong and Shangchi team they’re building along with connecting with the Thunderbolts. - Give Wanda her solo film (the only remaining liked female character before the actress walks away) fix her arc and have her hiding out in a Mutant universe and connect us to their X-Men team and even tie the Illuminati massacre as a catalyst (like she was in Civil War) - Spiderman 4 finally give us the decision of getting the Symbiote before Secret Wars or after and have Peter deal with the grounded stakes and grow on his own and then you can drop the whole everyone forgot him nonsense. - Fantastic Four will play in its own universe and even tease Franklin being a mutant causing conflict then more than likely by the end of the film will jump into our main timeline and connect to the newly set up Avengers. - DeadPool is already primed to show the X-Men in the void and different variants like MoM and 97 have done and will be crossing over into the main timeline by the end of that film. Maybe just maybe you could make a AvX work.

⁠@@DuskMindAbyssL take - 616 warring with 1610/ultimate universe was a huge factor in secret wars 2015, which is more likely to be adapted than the original secret wars which was made with an incredibly loose story to go alongside a wave of action figures. avengers vs xmen also needs to be carefully set up. it’s a great and honestly by many i’d say very underrated book, with tons of great character moments that feel earned because of the long-built up lore around the phoenix saga, and especially how scott summers has emotionally changed from then and the following years. frankly, at this point, the mcu needs to start thinking about how to make movies before they try and tackle character driven events like these.

Moon Knight doesn’t even know any of these people. I don’t see why he would get involved in anything not Khoshu-related unless he had a good enough reason that makes sense for his character.

Hulk NEEDS to fight juggernaut

I wish we could’ve seen Steve Rogers fight Wolverine. The man out of time against the animal who’s seen it all. It’d be so good!

I fear this would be far too complicated - and for me, a little dull. I found the airport battle in 'Civil War' to be incredibly contrived, and frankly boring, when compared to the espionage and action of Winter Soldier, which carefully crafted a sense of suspense, intrigue, and visceral combat... all of which Civil War possessed, but frequently veered away from in favour of giving the audience more Big Costume Battles. Marvel films are often at their least inventive when it comes to two or more characters having a set-piece battle. I'm in no hurry to see more of this for the sake of it. Essentially, this idea requires the filmmakers to find a way to introduce two teams that are unfamiliar to the audience in their current form. I imagine that introducing a group of X-Men is going to be quite enough for a film to handle without also having to reintroduce a selection of less well-known Avengers characters and trying to create a plot which bonds them into a new team. I think that Marvel probably need to move away from convoluted plots whose main purpose is to tie this element to that element and reference another element and set up a future element. It was amusing to apply some of the aspects of comic book structure for the initial run of films... but it has become unwieldy and is leading to a loss of focus upon what really matters: telling stories rooted in exploration of character.

This entire concept makes me think I don't want to watch another superhero movie for a decade.

After watching X-Men 97 i am dying to see the X-Men in the MCU.

I'm very proud to own issues 1-4 of X-MEN vs. The Avengers comics from 1987.

The Marvel’s already set up a universe where mutants & the X-Men are fully established, just have that universe collided with the Earth 199999999 again, an Incursion caused by Kang & we see the Avengers & X-Men come to blows & by the end team up to prevent the incursion from destroying their respective universes.

It could work, but the team would have to be Hulk, Spider-Man, Kate Bishop, Clint Barton, Sam Wilson, and Iron Heart as the main six. With the six you gave, they'd need a separate movie to establish them as Avengers and a team because some of them aren't even aware that the others exist, and only three of them have ever worked on a team. With these heroes, the Avengers mostly know each other. They're already well acquainted with Spider-Man, and Kate is well acquainted with Clint. Iron Heart could kinda just show up and they could let her in as the Iron Man fill in. Also, I think Deadpool 3 is going to establish the X-Men in the MCU, so all of the Kang stuff would be unnecessary, and I think the story would work better as something more grounded.

Ngl, i dont think Sam should get the Serum. Just because he is a legacy character, does not mean he should be more powerful than who camd before. Thats how we get Dragon Ball power level discussions and a well written story shouldnt have to rely on that. What makes Sam as Cap interesting is that he DOESNT have it and what he can do without it. They could make a more Mumen Rider tyoe thing with him as he really is just a man, trying live up to the symbol that is Captain America. I still feel like this aspect could still be used in upcoming movies if its written extremely well

Unfortunately the way they’ve made phase 4 and 5 so far they have forced themselves to need to make a whole avengers movie just to make a new team before they can even dream of doing anything like you’ve suggested in this video, that’s how much time they have wasted since 2019

I think that this will not work for Avengers 5, we need to bring the avengers together first. But in Avengers 6? I imagine they will do the plot from Hickman's secret wars which begins with an Incursion, in the MCU that incursion will be from a version of the xmen universe, a beyonder will appear, probably the Quantum Kang, and smush all the universes together into battle world. Doom will steal the beyonder's powers and put earth back but keep all the heroes from both worlds. the end

My half-joking idea for Avengers 5 is to bring Ultron back. Have Hank Pym finally start to snap from years of the Pym particles getting to his head combined with the anxiety of Kang showing up one day, and he finds the last ember of Ultron wherever Vision hid it. While I think it would be fun to do any number of relatively famous storylines like AvX or set up something with Doom, I also genuinely believe that most of those stories need too much setup and time to have the full payoff they could have. Meanwhile, Ultron is a familiar face that almost none of the new roster of Avengers had to face, Hank's spiralling I think would be a fascinating tragedy to round out his and the Ant Man story, and Ultron's new plan could simply be revenge, and the villain has to grapple with what does that emotion mean and feel, especially when most of the actual people he wants revenge on are gone.

They should have multiple Kang variants fight each other using proxies from various dimensions AND each Kang variant seeks an artifact that Kang created: Ten Rings, Quantum Bands, Necrosword, Celestial Ship, Armor. One team could use the X-Men and another the Avengers. They battle to save their respective world's from collapse into incursion. Kang's kill each and absorb and steal each other's power until only on Kang remains. Every time a Kang kills and absorbs a variant that reality collapses in an incursion event. Teams of heroes from those realities fight each other to stop it but fail.

I agree that this needs to happen. An Avengers vs. X-Men movie not only gives us hype for the MCU, but also nostalgia. I think it should work like a Time Runs Out scenario where the X-Men universe from The Marvels is having an incursion with the main MCU and our MCU Avengers will fight that team of X-Men that are the same cast members from the original Fox X-Men films. That helps with the technical issues of the X-Men getting to a place where they can fight the Avengers. Another thing is I am fine with Kang being an overarching villain, but I feel like Doctor Doom is not only the cooler choice, but he can be set up in not only the Fantastic Four movie, but also Doctor Strange 3, so it doesn't feel like he randomly appears. I think Doctor Doom should inevitably defeat Kang at the end of this Avengers vs. X-Men movie, somehow become God Emperor Doom, and create Battleworld, but by the time both teams realize what Doctor Doom is doing, they are too late and realize they should not have been fighting each other all along, being the perfect movie to hype Secret Wars, having multiversal and grounded elements, doing really cool fan service, and perfectly set up Secret Wars with the perfect villain of Doctor Doom.

Can we get a better Avengers lineup, I just can’t see an awesome team with Shang Chi and Shuri. Maybe we could get Daredevil, Punisher, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and possibly even White Tiger.

How X-men actor get older

A clean slate X-Men was absolutely something we needed, but it's so unlikely now because they keep dipping their toe back into the Fox pool. Multiverse of Madness, the Marvels, Deadpool 3; no one is going to care about new versions if they JUST saw the old ones in the latest MCU fair, and it'd confuse casual viewers too. Like yeah, EVENTUALLY they'll need new X-men, but it'll be too late then; we want proper MCU X-Men teaming up with the characters we know and love (the ones that are left anyway)

This would be AWESOOOOOOOOME

The only way I can imagine this working is if the end, ended both the mcu and xmen verse. The og xmen cast are too old to carry on for another 10 years of movies and the mcu is such a mess just end with a reboot. But it would be a good way to go out.

I know this much: I want Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool to interrupt the opening credits as soon as the name of whoever is going to be the new Wolverine. I want him to drop a F-bomb right then, cause this is PG-13 and they only get one. And like… every time Wolverine is on screen, he needs to be just steadily muttering under his breath that this new kid is no Hugh Jackman. Like, really beat that dead horse. You think he’s gotten it out of his system, he’ll see new guy Wolverine and start all over again. Cut to a new scene with different characters on screen and instant before he can drop another f-bomb. I want DP to basically be moping through all of his scenes, like it’s not even worth it without Hugh. Maybe at one point he half-asses some fighting, because he just doesn’t care, and we do a death barrier scene like in DP2, except there’s Hugh sitting at a bar in the afterlife, clinking beer bottles with a CGI Stan Lee, and then DP gets sucked back to the fight. Maybe also have Natalie Portman and Idris Elba. And after the end-credit scenes are done, I want a good 20minutes of outtakes just about Wolverine being recast. Like the bloopers from DP1, “You look like an ugly avacado made love to another, even uglier avacado…”

I dont care about Avengers 5 or 6, because I dont care about the remaining Avengers characters. I should, but I dont. I mean, name one character that has gotten better since the end of Phase 3 or a new character that has been introduced that is on par with the characters from Infinity Phases.

I have two recast options for Kang: either Corey Hawkins or Ray Fisher. If Marvel wants a caliber actor to replace Jonathan Majors, those are two who I can name.

No! I absolute hate the idea of cyclops being made into a villain. I hated it when it was done recently in the comics, and I hate the idea of it showing up on film.

its not too late for the mcu to ge everyone back bro they just cant be doing what they were doing from 2021 to 2023, but if they change it starting with deadpool 3 they can bring people back and get them hype again and someone send this vid to disney lol

Too soon. Avengers 5 needs to reestablish that the Avengers are a team that comes together to solve the big problems noone else can. We need to have Sam coordinating a team or teams to solve all of these seemingly unrelated problems... Multiversal Kangs, frozen celestial, saving Monica...stopping incursions. Somewhere between Civil War and End Game we lost the base level humanity in these heros. Sam was a Ptsd counselor and coordinator. We need to see him using those skills in addition to combat and team building skills to bring together the established Avengers and the littany of new comers who can be in training. No need for Xmen(yet)...even though theres a high chance we will get Wolverine or Deadpool as a residual character in the next few team based films.

If you were gonna have Sam as the leader then it should have been done 3-4 years ago not now, you can't build that up. Bring back Cap, and then that can happen. Multiversal Kangs? Tie it into the Beyonder lore, "they have touched the multiverse and they will destroy everything we have built" easy way to introduce the Beyonders and wipe out most Kangs and leave maybe a few like Immortus and Iron Centurion who survive barely and go on to create the Multiversal Avengers. Stopping incursions? Blow up the world that is colliding with yours, there's great character development. But they won't do any of that, too many ideas but they will not use a single one. Mad Celestials, Beyonders, Avengers Forever, Multiversal Avengers, I doubt any of it will happen.

I don't see logically how Avengers 5 can be AvX when we have yet to see ah X Man, and there is no Avengers team. It feels like a set up for fans to bash the MCU for rushing to throw things on screen for fan service, which is what killed DCU, and what is killing Sony

Ms. Marvel is the lead in the least popular MCU things, so I wouldn't make her the key to anything. It'd be like if George Lucas insisted Jar Jar be the key to everything.

Did everyone just forget that avengers vs x-men was a horrible story? Or do the people who want to see just never actually read the comic? The idea was already terrible in the comics and only made every character look like dumbasses. An mcu version would be even worse, especially since there's no X-Men mcu movies right now so there's zero build up. Bringing back the x-men fox characters is just more cheap nostalgia bait that everyone seems to be tired of. The fox X-Men characters suck aswell so the writers would need to really bring their A-Game to make people care. This is just a REALLY bad idea that would take ALOT of good writing to make it work.

Oh great, another multiversal slapfest, that's definitely what we need right now. If you're going to do Avengers v X-Men, at least go the political angle. Treating the X-Men like action figures to mash against the Avengers flies in the face of everything that makes them actually compelling to watch.
