According to biologists who saw the film, it seems like the evolution of sapient intelligence caused the na'vi ancestors to prioritize the body's energy on brain power over the third set of limbs, so the two pairs of arms fused to one pair over time. We can see this process re-occurring in the prolemuris(the monkey-like creatures)as their arms are fused from shoulder to elbow.

This movie is so beautifully done. The CGI is flawless with the Na'vi and the entire environment on Pandora. Some of my favorite sequences involve the Ikran, Toruk and the Tree Of Souls.

I wish you saw the extended cut. It's only about 10 minutes longer, but has some scenes important to the plot.

Absolutely. That movie feels crippled in any version that is not the Director's cut. No wonder people thought it was shallow and for the looks only.

This kinda late but idgaf, In the Na’vi language ‘Ma’ translates to ‘Oh’, it’s used when calling upon a person or someone in general. “May eywa” = “Oh eywa” “Ma Jake” = “Oh Jake” “Ma’Tsu’tey” = “Oh Tsu’tey”

So to clarify why the RDA is mining on Pandora, they need the Unibtainium to keep the atmospheric processors, maglev trains and other technologies on Earth operating. They need it because Earth is on life support, and if they don't mine it eventually the Earth will finally die and everybody on it will die too because there's nowhere left for Humanity to go. You watched the theatrical release, the extended cut is the one that actually gives you the full story. They didn't wanna show that one in theaters because it was just a bit longer.

Hi! First time I watched this movie I was teenager and I loved it. I thought the music was phenomenal, CGI was mind-blowing, story was enjoyable, but what i loved the most was world building - designs of the ships, vehicles and the attention to certain details e.g. Pandora's atmosphere composition, it's lithosphere, Na'vi language and more. Throughout the years I've seen KZread critiques for example about the music that it wasn't alien enough or designs of the animals and plants weren't alien enough, because James Cameron wanted the setting the western audience would be more "familiar/comfortable" with. I've also heard the critique toward the plot e.g. that it's not original and features "white savior" and something about native Americans(can't remember what exactly). With all that being said I belive that all those critiques have some merit but I still enjoy this movie and it's sequel tremendously. Honestly Way of water is a better movie out the two. Sorry for my english btw. I'm not native English speaker.

Jarhead is just a less flattering name for a Marine. And though this is kind of Dances With Wolves in Space, Cameron has a knack for adding drama, action and top-notch visual effects. A James Cameron movie I MUST recommend is True Lies. You will LOVE it.

Avatar and lord of the rings are 2mothers of movies, Avatar Mother of Sci-Fi and lord of the rings Mother of fantasy, with out them it would be a lot different but this2 inspired others

in my opinon the most visually stunning movie of all time you dont get the full effect unless you have watched this on the big screen it is simply breathtaking. and just like us humans we move to a pristene place and just destroy it for our greed now we run out of place to ravage on earth we goto other planets to do it.

42:58 issue with him before was that he was chosen by the chief to be Natiris mate, only best hunter can get the hand of chiefs daughter same like American natives tribes were, lucky for them pandora's natives biology works a certain way that they can have 1mate for life so once they are mated no1 can stop their relationship easy way to oppose ur parents if u are Navi :D

I understand it is hard to get into something as emotional as this, but to me it looks like you didn't. It feels to me like you only fulfilled a duty watching this movie, only commenting on it, but not really feeling it. It's a bit of a disappointment to me, and if I'm right, it spoiled the idea of this reaction. But ... I may be wrong, of course. No offense meant.
