    I only managed 5, but hey, maybe they’ll release it again right before A3 for me to get that number up. 😊 It’s one of the most re-watchable movies I’ve seen in ages, but I have felt that way about most of James Cameron’s movies. They’re experiences.

    I cried in cinemas when the humans were hunting down the Tulkun spirit sister and the calf. It’s just so slow and painful to watch that overtime it makes you realise what we are doing to Earth right now. For Neteyam’s death too, just hearing Neytiri mourn over the loss of his oldest son really puts the perspective of a strong parent

    I didn’t even realize it was Ronal‘s spirit sister but still cried. And when I saw Ronal and understood, it tore me apart, because it wasn’t just any Tulkun I had seen dying, it was Ronal‘s spirit sister, who was so happy about her calf and Ronal’s pregnancy.

    her cover wasn’t blown @13:08, she was making the calls to tell her children she was near. notice that all of them perked up and immediately began looking around. it was a familiar sound to them while quaritch and his crew wouldn’t have recognized it as anything more than an animal call.

    1:13:00 Oh DAMN I never thought about that! But that's a great theory! When Jake first comes to Pandora, all that Grace and Norm can talk about is Tommy. He was the perfect scientist/avatar-driver, and Jake was kinda just thrust into this position and had to find his own way.

    The one thing that makes me really think everytime I see it is the fact that even after Neytiri had cut spider, and threatened to kill him. She STILL throws him behind her and away from Quaritch. She could have done it for a few reasons, but I personally think that this is her way of taking his son from him too. She won’t kill spider because her kids love him and see him as family, and Neytiri would never do anything to cause her family pain or harm and after spider saves his dad and returns to them, Jake cradles him and says “a son for a son”. The best part is that not only did Neytiri “take” him, but Spider also CHOSE to leave his dad and return to the sully’s.

    Payakan is a killer by the “Tulkun way.” Meaning he bears the burden of those deaths because he gathered them to go attack the humans. Thus, he is effectively the same as a killer in their eyes and was outcasted by the group.

  • @jamesmarciel5237

    @jamesmarciel5237

    Ай бұрын

    Actually, No. The Mayakina Chief explained it. The Tulkun used to fight amongst themselves, but adapted to no longer fight with each other. Payakan’s whole family and pod was killed by the whalers, only he survived. Since he was the only survivor, all the other Tulkun and everyone else were mistaken that he actually killed them. Because there were no other witnesses. This is why he was outcast and called a killer. Payakan didn’t call anyone else to attack the humans. The humans were already tracking Payakan’s pod. Hunting them, they killed the Tulkun pod, Payakan’s family, but he took the blame for killing the pod.

    1:00:00 Your thoughts on Recom Quaritch are the same as mine! I watched the first film in 2009 and thought human Quaritch was fine for a villain for what the story needed, but otherwise 1-note. Then TWOW comes around, brings him back BUT with a twist, and he immediately is not quite the same man he used to be. Honestly, I could write a whole academic essay on just the moral, ethical, psychological, etc etc themes that come with Project Phoenix. The Recoms are just a means to an end, weapons. Disposable. That can't be good psychologically in the long run...but we shall see with the sequels, for I'm confident that Lyle Wainfleet (and possibly Mansk) also survived. I'm so fascinated by this concept, and it's why Recom Quaritch is one of my top favorite characters in this movie beside Kiri and Spider. Kiri is my spirit animal, ngl. I get serious neurodivergent vibes from her; she's the icon we all need. All the kids in this movie were great and didn't come off as annoying like some films sadly make the mistake of doing.

    For Quaritch and the other military members of his team, they created clones for each and uploaded their memories to the avatars they were in the process of growing just in case they were killed. So they have most of the memories of their human selves and the personalities. However as you saw, Quaritch started to change overtime the more he bonded with his son Spider. Sidenote: it's Kiri not kitty😅

    15:54 Cam & Zay, the reason why he is commenting on their tails is because they aren’t from a Sea Clan. The tails of the Sea Clan are much bigger and muscular because the use them when they are swimming. Jake & Neytiri’s family were of the Forest Clan and their tails developed thinner and not as muscular because they didn’t use the the same way. The arms of the Sea Clan also developed differently too. Their arms kind of flatten out when they are swimming. This helps them like fins or paddles to help propel them thru the water while they are swimming.

    Growing with with the MCU, I think we are so used to seeing characters with nothing to lose take risks (and usually play off the seriousness of the situation with quips and jokes) that we are unfamiliar with characters that have everything to lose and barely take risks. It’s not mentioned in the movie, but it’s canon that Jake feels guilty for leading so many Na’vi to their deaths in the first movie. He’s a human turned avatar Na’vi. What right does he have to lead them into battle and become their chieftain? He’s taken on the responsibility of keeping his “inherited” tribe safe. It’s a lot more personal now that he has kids. The stakes just went up. He doesn’t want to lead his own kids into battle and to their potential death. Yeah, he wants them to defend themselves, but you’re usually taught to fight as a last resort; not to seek out and intentionally put yourself in danger. Lion King says it best: “Being brave doesn’t mean you go looking for trouble. Be brave when you have to be.” Jake let Lo’ak and Neteyam, who are 14 and 15, accompany him on that train raid in the beginning to be spotters, nothing more. But Lo’ak wanted to do more and nearly got himself and his brother killed. Yeah, they made the bone-headed choice to put themselves in danger, but these are minors. We all were shaking our heads and saying this was a stupid idea when Simba took Nala to the elephant graveyard when Mufasa just warned his son it was dangerous. He trusted Simba to be responsible with that knowledge and he disobeyed. Same thing happened here. Jake trusted them enough to let them do one thing that was reasonably safe but still helping, and they (well, Lo’ak) couldn’t even do that. It’s one thing to act upon what your parents limit you to do (obedience,) and it’s something completely different when you overstep those limits (disobedience.) Boundaries are set for a reason: to keep you safe so you can ease into more extreme situations when you are ready for it. 14 and 15 years old is way too young to try to take matters into your own hands, but I think we forget that because we are too used to these superhero movies and TV shows. Geez, I feel I’m stating the obvious here, but that’s only because it blows my mind that some people don’t get what Cameron is trying to say. They are too much in their own heads trying to think up a better solution to outsmart the story being told instead of going on the journey and considering what is being shown to them. How are the characters are feeling, why they are feeling this way, how do they come up with their plans of action, and how do they try to keep their plans from blowing up in their face? Lo’ak constantly has his plans blow up in his face and it’s up to his brother to bail him out of it. Siblings do that for each other, sure, but this isn’t like picking a fight at school or something childish like that. This IS a life or death situation. A 14 year old isn’t or at least shouldn’t be responsible for his own life. I’m just putting this out there and I’ll let you guys discuss if I’m making any sense because I see a lot of people upset over how Jake is hard on Lo’ak, or they don’t understand why Jake was mad at Lo’ak over Neteyam’s death. I personally do think Lo’ak shares some of the blame here, if not all of it, but he probably would have been killed if Neteyam wasn’t there to buy him and Spider time to escape.

    I understand you have a channel for reactions but for such a big film it’s a shame to skip out on the 3D movie experience especially when you said you loved the first one in 3D. Might be worth checking this out in 3D when it likely gets a rerelease before part 3. Perhaps see part 3 in 3D and give an out-of-the-theater reaction and a longer video to review it. That way you don’t miss out on the 3D fun

    Yoo check out the deleted scenes. It turns out that they didn't make cut because they wanted to balance the good and the bad of this movie. For example, Neytiri's scene when she threatened to kill spider, the deleted scene was more terrifying than the scene that made the cut. I can see why it didn't make the cut, but it really shows Neytiri's rage after losing her first born.
