More like a nuclear disaster in 2017 that was never perfected. Does it hit its target? Ehhhhh some times. Is it reliable? Absolutely not. Are their countermeasures not disclosed to the public? Yes. America only lets the public know of technology that is at least a decade or two old. Radars were upgraded decades ago to spot them. Also America has used hypersonic projectiles for a long time. Besides a single stealth bomber could knock out the launch site. Also new satellite weapons use directed dense EMP and other Directed Energy. As far as I remember the design of that type of weapons started when US started to deploy a new missile defense system around russia, lying as usual, that it is not being built against russia, rather agains iran. but russians didn't buy that bullshit anymore, so they tried to oppose the deployment, then gave up and have built a new concept for the nuclear charge delivery to restore the parity, no matter what missile defense system is built. they simply don't care anymore.

I dont think anything beyond set speed can re-direct. The acting forces at mach 10 plus. It doesnt make sense. A drag car thats going 120 mph, and loses control, though its off course, its still tumbling in set direction, now speed that up 5000 percent, there is no re direct. The data collected, if possible can perdict its target. Mach 20 is insane, but with the right tools may be more predictable.

yes, but is it reliable and can it be manufactured consistently where it can affect the geo-political battlefield, Russia has been known very publically to say one thing and the reality is completely different. Time will tell.

@@nabawi7but nuclear weapons don’t have the same effect as reactor explosions so it’s far less catastrophic to the area hit. The worst part about the explosion is the blast itself.

The US won’t show its cards until it needs to.

Ну так инженеры когда сделали посейдон, с его водным пузырем, справедливо задумались а не прокатит ли такая же тема, но уже с пузырем плазменным. Сам авангард и генерирует этот кокон, походу это и позволяет набирать такую скорость. Помню еще заявляли, что смогли каким то там хе.. чудом, реализовать систему связи через этот плазменный пузырь. Теоритически это возможно, хотя бы потому что сама плазма может выступать в роли антенны. Может и по другому как то, хрен его знает, секретная инфа же.

Загружают в бортовой компьютер карту мира, по ней и летит при помощи инерциальной системы. Да, она не совсем точна (отклонение 500м примерно макс), но для ракеты типа этой это не так критично.
