More like a nuclear disaster in 2017 that was never perfected. Does it hit its target? Ehhhhh some times. Is it reliable? Absolutely not. Are their countermeasures not disclosed to the public? Yes. America only lets the public know of technology that is at least a decade or two old. Radars were upgraded decades ago to spot them. Also America has used hypersonic projectiles for a long time. Besides a single stealth bomber could knock out the launch site. Also new satellite weapons use directed dense EMP and other Directed Energy. Just like the Poseidon Putin will show this to the world not because it is awesome. But because he knows it isn’t and wants to impress idiots. Reminds me of the T-14 that uses a shit engine and manual reactive defences.

A drag car thats going 120 mph, and loses control, though its off course, its still tumbling in set direction, now speed that up 5000 percent, there is no re direct. The data collected, if possible can perdict its target. Mach 20 is insane, but with the right tools may be more predictable.
