They operate side by side. SU-35 covers the SU-34, the SU-34 is a bit bigger though, a bit less maneuverable but still performs remarkably well for a bomber.

F35s would down every single su35 in an air to air combat. It's not even a question. What point are you trying to make? Also take into consideration that it's not Americans using the Patriot missle system in Ukraine. American military is obviously going to be the most effective with American aircraft and defense systems. The SU-35 is an exceptional fighter but you totally neglected to mention that Ukraine uses PAC-2 Patriot batteries, not the newest 360radar batteries, not even PAC-3. I recommend people check LTAMDS Radar for Patriot.

That is because compartments and weapons are still being modernized and adjusted for it, and the same applies for the SU-35. The 80s are more relevant then ever, the 80s will carry out the bulk of aerial warfare, not the niche F22s and F35s.

Both Su-34 and Su-35 have Ground Radar Geolocator and ECM Khibiny module on wingtips. But Patriot Radar is not AESA only Phased Array. To evade Patriot Pac2 missile, 3D Thrust Vectoring on Su-35 and Patriot old Radar are key factors. When Su-35's MWR alerts pilot, pilot can do zero or very low air speed mode (like unflying object) using 3D Thrust Vectoring to deceive the radar and lost target lock via TVM. Why 2 numbers Su-35 were hit? Aircrafts are not everythig. Pilots (manned or AI) can differ.

Low speed flying as a way to break a target lock will only work on pulsed Doppler look down radars. The key here is look down radar it will only work on a radar looking down from higher altitude ie an airborne radar. Patriot is ground based so this technique won’t work, if fact reducing speed will just put the target aircraft in a position of being less able to use rapid manoeuvres to evade final interception.

@@alfretwell428 Patriot radar also uses Doppler filter. Otherwise, radar scope will be filled up with geographic clutter (mountains, hill) and also even birds. So, doppler filter is not in use only for airborne radars.

The missiles on outside of the jet give off a signature that is picked up on radar from MASH.

To do tight high g evasive manuever is taking toll on the pilot. Most of time patriot launch a volley of 2 missile upon lock. So to evade those 2 missile is quite hard. And if su35 manage to do this, it was a very good feat.

'Lotta adjectives here without the necessary qualification that manoeuverability means little without a _very _*_well trained pilot_* to use it. More likely the Su-34s have proven vulnerable because of their mission profiles : high altitude glide bomb runs as opposed to the Su-35s hanging back or staying low. ---- Best way to beat a Patriot is to break line-of-sight from it's ground radar *as early as possible.* The nose radars of the PAC-2 missiles don't have great range and are mostly for accurate terminal guidance.

They use both, but fighter jets have out manoeuvred missiles for years, while a missile is far faster than the jet it is less manoeuvrable, very high speed means difficulties in making very sharp turns in the last second, like stepping out of the way of a fast car at the last second, it cannot react in time.

It's not outrun, it's out manoeuvre. Missiles don't really chase the target aircraft. They aim to rendezvous with the plane, by calculating the speed and flight path. To out-manoeuvre the missile has to be at a certain distance/ range, too far or too close doesn't work. A very high skill high risk action.

Dropping the payload shouldn't reduce the pilots reaction time. He has a second man for that. The Strike mission profile certainly exposes the aircraft more however, and pilots are not going to drop the payload at the first sign of trouble. A lot of SU-34 were probably shot down while evading with a payload still attached.

An amazing video, thank you for posting it. I have few points tho: 1- you have my upmost respect for being biased on your video. When it comes to anything Russian, western tends to say stupid things. 2- we always forget that Russians are fighting in Ukraine the whole NATO countries with cutting edge technology air defence systems! We’ve seen some casualties but we also seen many casualties in these air defence systems! 3- comparing that war with any war that US air force had, we will see that none of them had a decent army equipped with air defence or capable fighters to know the exact strength of them. 4- wondering how both S-400 vs Patriot would react when fighting 5th gen or good fighters like F-18 or SU-34 !!??? Only time will tell and. I think the clash will eventually soon happen since Russian army is taking control and momentum day after day.

Su-34 are bombers, and therefore, they're very heavy aircrafts while the su-35 are fighter jet relatively light when compared to the su-34.

The SU-34 and SU-35 operate in completely different configurations and fly different profiles. The use of SU-34s weighed down with massive glide bombs flying in a predictable pattern only works in an uncontested environment. We saw the damage that a single Patriot battery caused to the SU-34 fleet this winter. The SU-34s have been used to good effect over the past few months only because Ukrainian defenders ran out of Patriot Missiles to convert them into scrap metal. The SU-34s are making hay while the sun shines but they won’t survive long when Vipers are hunting them.

Cars, computers, TVs and washing machines - Su-35 is made by the same pool of brilliant russian engineers, what could possibly go wrong?

The US have received full intelligence on the SU35; I must say the cannon on that sob is really something!

You have to stand next to the sukhoi to appreciate the size. They dwarf the mig29. And the extra airfoil surface and engine mean they are no less maneuverable

Whike stationed at Potosi West of Vegas, we went into the Karnak for Buffet & there was a Sega Testing room & I jumped on a ball turret sim anrbspent most if the next 60 seconds dounf corkscrews once the other jet showed up. I survived but wish I had video of that ball going round & round - not even any G-Force either!

He shows a Su35 dropping flares! Lmao even the stinger manpad has a very good chance of taking one down. That's why Russian pilots do not do direct close in air support. It has anti- flare software and is being constantly improved.

Imagine the stupidity of thinking a super maneuvering jet could maneuver around something travelling either Mach 3.5 or 5.5 projectile. I guess it would be like saying a snail can out maneuver a bullet.

I think the future of drone fighters will be able to turn a lot more aggressive.

You could literally not be further from correct in how you describe the interplay of a missile and an aircraft in a high g turn. The turn does not in any way effect the missile's radar lock on the aircraft. Turning the aircraft forces the missile to turn, bleeding its energy away due to friction, causing it to slow down, lose effective range, and run out of momentum before it can strike the aircraft.

Very agile and highly manoeuvrable fighter aircraft in the world.

Soon after this things will become SU35 SU34 flying turtles highly maneuverable thrust vectoring armed with hypersonic shovels 😂

Because the patriot was destroyed long before the Su-35 took off😂

there are to much variables that need to be calculated in, in order to know how effective one system is, how well trained are Ukranians, which exactly radars to they use what was the distance,.... and on the other side, what exactly variant of SU-35 did Russians used, how well trained was that pilot, what was the payload that he carried, what was his mission, what was the terrain in that area,....... you can't say one system is performing bad if the system is not used in the correct way, in the correct set up, or by non experienced soldiers, and so on

Missiles have proximity fuse, dog fighting those are impossible. 🤷‍♂ It's just a youtube video.

Patriots are a cheap by the dozen system. Their accuracy is dependent on the number used. 1 system is irrelevant, 4 is sub par. 6 are usually minimal. It'll take 7-8 missles to eventually down 1 fighter.

This is wrong! A high G single axis turn can not defeat a patriot. The patriot or any missile with a decent seeker head can anticipate the aircraft’s location (lead) to make a kill if the turn is in one plane (single axis). A multi-axis turn is another matter. If the pilot does a non coordinated multi axis spiral (elevator and rudder) the missile software can’t anticipate the necessary lead to intercept the aircraft. That Russian did a slipping spiral.

The Su 35 is more powerful jet than the American made F22 and F35 in terms of real combat operations. Can anyone explain if one was shot down by the patriot air defense system in Ukraine war?

Patriots even have no time to fart when hypersonic missiles are incoming. Most of the delivered Patriots are gone. This is why the "comic-in-chief " is begging for more and more.

Low effort production. As already mentioned, please give us reliable sources other than the Ghost of Kiev. High G manoeuvres are intended to bleed the limited fuel resources in a missile hunting the plane before it gets close. Missiles have a smaller mass and no pilot. They can withstand much higher G forces.

Answer: it is not. Just get into the range a scary bird ;-)

The Su 34 is in no way the Su-35 twin. The Su 34 is way bigger, it have to pilots seated arm to arm not at tandem. The Su-34 is a bomber and thr Su-35 is a fighter

Very Briefed And Summarized Ideas: I think that the Russians should experiment by converting part of their stock of obsolete fighter-bomber aircrafts into attack drones, and try to seize air supremacy over cities and vital sectors of the Ukrainian geography... Russia has a stock of MiG-23/27 and MiG-29 that can be developed into fighter/strike drones after providing them with technology that enhances survivability, supplying them with radar warning receiver rwr/ missile approach warning receiver mawr and then using them in the form of air masses or large formations from several air divisions to try to seize air supremacy or st least the air superiority over important parts of Ukrainian geography... It is possible to launch hundreds of guided combat drones (MiG-29, MiG-27, MiG-23) towards, for example, the capital, Kiev, and at the same time use the Su-35 or MiG-31 from the skies over Belarus equipped with the Kh-31p anti radiation missile or any tactical surface-to-air missile with hypersonic properties to conduct (DEAD or SEAD) missions destroying enemy air defense systems or suppressing enemy air defense systems and gradually gaining the air supremacy over the Kiev oblast at least above 6000m. By the way, I think it is possible to develop a model of the r33/37 air2air with a ranges between 200 and 400km with speed of 4.5mach&6 mach, to be anti-radation missile, although the 60 kg payloads is considered much less than comparable anti radiation missiles but this weight is much heavier than the 6kg useful payloads of the 155/152mm laser guided artillery rounds which is used effectively in destroying heavy air defense systems across Ukrainian theaters of operations. for example, I think the r37 is supposed to have the ability to homing on the electromagnetic sensors (radars) carried by the AWACS and JSTAR aircraft, not only homing on the large radar cross-section of those aircraft's, these qualities should qualifyed the heavy long range air2air missile to engage the ground and naval based radar systems...

Moving Past the "to:dr" part... Spring 1980 I was up on the Mogollon Rim (AZ) and saw a B-53 with its cabin windiws taped 8ff flying by wire at 500 foot altitude. (planting trees) Also have seen A-10's flying slow in tandem maybe also tested as drone work. The SR-71's used to do "Touch & Go" runs over South Tucson)
