Just a quick question as I am new in rigging I rigged a dog model when I move the ear eye lashes also move with it.
Hey man! this is a great tutorial thank you! I am just having trouble adding an IK spine to this rig and I can't find a tutorial for it anywhere on the web. Please could you show us how to do this? I use IK spine for animating quadrupeds so I think its super important.
@CGDive
Жыл бұрын
This is the spine you get with ARP. Recently they added an master control for the upper body. See here kzread.info/dash/bejne/oIKC0LisXdXckps.html I hope they will add one for the butt as well.
Another great & informative tutorial. I am now using ARP rigs exclusively. I still harvest Daz rigs but now the Diffeo addon can bake the Daz genesis face morphs to shape keys allowing the direct import of shape key facial animation to Daz Genesis characters who have ARP body rigs. I have video on my channel .. it solves my problem of facial mocap for ARP rigs.!

Todor, just bought the course, but I'm having an issue following how you got the "Recommended setup" for the hind legs at 21:03. There you have two bones in the foot, and no pelvic bone... but at 16:54 you only have one bone in the foot. You also have this in the final rig blend file for the dog. Wondering what happened here..
@CGDive
Жыл бұрын
Hi, At 7:57 I already align the hind leg in the "recommended" setup. At 16:16 I then offset them just to show another *possible* setup but at 18:29 I say that I prefer the previous one. Then I go through the Undo History and undo many steps until I get the previous setup. Also, check out 18:44 where I explain why I chose the "recommended" setup. Let me know if this makes sense. I think the "undo" portion threw you off but the tutorial does not skip any steps so it should all make sense.

The next video in the series (rigging a fox) will include a face rig. You can already watch it with the paid course, link in the description :) Or wait a week or two until I release it on KZread.
What scale is your dog when you imported? I noticed .obj was one option, but no .fbx. When I brought in the obj version it was HUGE, because autorig pro's rig(dog option) was SO TINY! :) how or did you correct for this?
@CGDive
Жыл бұрын
I always try to work in "real world scale". I am not sure what the size of the original model was. If it was too big/small I probably re-scaled it. It's essential to do these checks and fixes before you start rigging. Fixing things after the fact is always more demanding.

i wonder if any of these settings would help me rig a therapod instead of manually doing it
@CGDive

Once you know how to add "limbs" you can rig most things. Theropod shouldn't be a problem.
I have purchased the auto rig pro. i try to bind, but it is error. please kindly help to provide us how to solve this issue.
How can I rig a character that I've applied vertex groups on? It's making me either delete them or they aren't included in the binding process; I need the vertex groups for fur and stripes particle systems I have on my cat.
@CGDive

I have trouble understanding the problem. Who is making you delete them?
Thanks for your tutorials. That's really good to learn auto-rig pro. I have two questions from the videos with animal rig. I am trying to rig a dinosaur, (raptor shape) with Auto-Rig pro. I used a dog armature. I thought it's close enough to modify. Two problem I encountered. -Bank bones? The one you placed behind the heel. The raptor's forefoot is more like hand. So, I did disable it, then whole arm is gone. Couldn't find "Bank" option inside limb option. How do I disable those without disable arms? -This is the biggest issue. I finished placing bones, I clicked "Match to Rig" It made mess. The new control bones don't align to the model. The new control bones looks a dog shape. So, looks like Auto-Rig still using some reference of a shape of dog, and a shape of a dinosaur is too far from a dog, and looks like Auto-Rig got confused? Or, do I missing anything before I click Match to Rig? Could you tell me how to solve or work around plan? Thanks in advance

It's not easy to say because I am not sure what you did exactly. I may literally have to watch over your shoulder to say for sure :) But I'll be working on a dinosaur tutorial with Auto-Rig Pro in the near future! Also, I am going to release a detailed video about bird rigging next week (wing video coming today!). Birds evolved from dinosaurs so there are a lot of similarities. I hope it will help!

Can it be used for six legged animals? Like mythology Fenrir (six legged wolf) or Slepnir (Odin's Horse with six legs), the Palulu'kan in Avatar or the Displacement Beast in D&D
@CGDive
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, sure. You can start with a dog or another quadruped. Then in "Edit Reference Bones" mode use Add Limb to add another leg. Just align it to the additional leg and parent the leg bone to e.g. the closes spine bone. Then can mirror it with the Dupli Mirror button. :)

what's the bone hierarchy like when exporting in to game engines like Unreal Engine 5 or Unity?
@CGDive
Жыл бұрын
ARP has dedicated export features. They should simplify the armature. I'll be testing and making videos about that too.
Good video. I have a question. I bought it a year ago Auto-Rig Pro and only today I started to study. There is one thing not to catch dogs. I made a mesh, but my doll has an open mouth, if I remove the bones as an incoming textbook, how should I make a closed mouth? The second question of animals in what format to export to the UЕ4 engine
@CGDive
Жыл бұрын
You should be able to rig the dog with its mouth open. If you want to close it before rigging, that's a relatively simple Edit Mode or Sculpt mode task. You need to learn Blender :)

@@CGDive I understand how to do this, but I don’t know how to sign it correctly and display the manipulator. In a word, I’m a noob)) You know, it would be easier if in a future patch you can select those bones that need to be deleted and add such a function to the plugin menu. Unless of course it is generally possible to do this. In any case, thank you very much for your work and quick response.
How do u memorize all these ? Auto-Rig,AcccuRig, And tons of rigging in Rigify One question - if a mesh is separated like - head, body, hands,feets are separated and in pose mode when posing the meshes are opening up/deforming how to fix that ?

The ARP rig and UE Control rig may have similar controls but they are in no way related. "Does this rig export to Unreal AS a control rig?" Not directly although you may be able to export your character as a standard Mannequin rig and reuse the existing Control rig blueprints.
