Auto Bleed ABS Brakes With Your Smartphone. Autel AP200C Scan Service Tool - Even More Affordable.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I did a video about auto bleeding ABS brakes with an affordable scan tool back in February of 2018. (link below) At that time it was the cheapest option for auto bleeding with a scan tool. Now, almost three years later, I have discovered an even cheaper way with this new device. The Autel AP200C is a OBDII dongle based device and is designed to be used with your smartphone (Android or Apple). This is the ONLY OBDII dongle system/software that I have found that will allow you to auto bleed ABS brakes. In fact, I believe at the time of this video, this is the only smartphone/dongle system that will allow ANY form of bi-directional control at all. Up to this point, all these OBDII dongle systems available on the internet only display codes and live data, with no bi-directional control offered. This device is also a standard code reader with live data and will reset / clear check engine lights.
The Autel AP200C along with the MaxiAP200 smartphone app is a complete code reader and scan tool with ABS Auto Bleed, Airbag Resets, Oil, Throttle, DPF, EPB, SAS, BMS Services, ABS/SRS capability.
The Autel AP200 can be found here:

    Brian, (if that is your name, sorry if I got that wrong.) At any rate, got my AP200 in the mailbox this morning. After about 15 minutes I had the updates, both apps and within an hour I had all the fault codes, what it takes to fix them and the all important ABS brake bleed which I needed soooo bad. The Brake Bleed fixed my brakes 100% I don't pull to the right like I had a new rudder when I hit the brakes. Great Review, and thank you for pushing this product. I could not be happier. So what would the pros and cons be between AP200C ( phone app ) and the maxi-check pro?

  • @SlipFitGarage

    @SlipFitGarage

    3 жыл бұрын

    The maxicheck costs more up-front because its a standalone device but does not require extra fees to unlock certain features. The AP200C is cheaper to buy and includes ABS and SRS service functions for the first year, then cost an additional fee every year after that. Its also easier to store in your vehicle (its smaller than maxicheck) so if/when you suddenly need a scan tool (on a road trip for example) your more likely to have it with you. You'll always have your phone with you so that part is not a problem. I guess it depends if you plan to use the device full time, or just for the one-off repair. If you have one car to auto bleed (for example) then the AP200C is the cheapest route. If you plan to do brake repair on a regular basis, then the Maxicheck would probably be the way to go. They are both pretty much capable of the same type of service functions. One is cheaper up front and arguably more convenient to use (cell phone based), the other one is bigger and bulkier but would be cheaper in the long run if you plan to do regular automotive work. You decide. 🙂 Thanks for the question/comment.

    It runs the ABS pump to get the stuck air bubbles out of the ABS module. Once the bubbles are out of the ABS module, they are still in the brake lines. You still need to manually bleed the brakes the traditional way to finish removing the bubbles completely out of the system. Look for my previous auto bleed video (linked in this video description and in first pinned comment) for more auto bleed information. The scan tool doesn't actually RUN the auto bleed, it's just sending the command to the computer in the vehicle.

Not ALL cars ever made are capable of running the Auto bleed function. If you do not see the option, then it is most likely because it does not exist in your vehicle's computer to begin with. These scan tools are not actually running the auto bleed process, they are just simply requesting the computer in the vehicle to run that function. I'm talking about someone who needs to fix their brakes and get their car back on the road this week. (for example) Next year's update fee is irrelevant to getting brakes fixed this week. If you're a pro mechanic looking for a scan tool with ABS bleed procedure because you do this type of work on a daily basis, then this tool is NOT for you. If you're a guy trying to fix you own brakes, on your own car because of a broken brake line (for example) and you just need to get it fixed as cheaply as possible, this MIGHT be the tool for you. @@SlipFitGarage I see it on Aliexpress for half the cost. Should I do that?

    @@pullyoursocksup6302 I don't recommend Ali express but that's just me. If you have any problems with it, who's going to help you? At least with Amazon you know they have excellent customer service with an excellent return policy. It's totally up to you.
