Autel Scanner: ABS modulator bleed / How to Get air out of ABS / Anti-lock brake system bleeding

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Using an Autel scanner, I show ABS modulator bleed or how to get air out of ABS or anti-lock brake system bleeding. I use the Autel MP808TS scan tool. Air trapped in ABS can cause a spongy pedal and compromise braking. ABS pump bleeding is a must to restore optimal braking. If you are considering how to get air out of ABS module using a scanner, this video will be helpful. Other Autel scanners e.g. MK808, MS906 etc, as well as XTOOL and other scanners can also perform this task. I also show how to bleed brakes without removing tires.

    Thank you for the very informative video.I would like to know if the one person break bleed method ( catch bottle and tube only) with no pump can be recommended to flush the break oil? My car is 2018 Japanese model with ABS? I have the oil which came with car and is +4 years now.Can do it my self? Thank you?

    The no pump or gravity method can work, it just takes a long time in comparison. If the brake fluid is sealed, it should still be good. If it was opened or the seal is broken, it's not recommended for use.

    Do you have to use the scan tool? Can you manually bench bleed it? Ive got a 2010 Impala and im about to put a new modulatoe in, im thinking about leaving the block in , and switching the motor and board. Recommended?

  • @DIYAutoworksNG

    You mustn't use a scan tool, but the manual bleeding process is messy. Pumping brakes, opening and tightening the ABS brake lines for the air to escape (it will come with fluid). Not sure of the design of the Impala ABS unit, but if there's a separate electrical component attached to the pump (as in some models), you may be able to change just that part without disconnecting the lines. If the lines are removed, bleeding should be done. Ultimately, do refer to service recommendations from the manufacturer.

    Questions this is for electronic Breaks and not Hydrolic breaks? Also would you happen to know if this Scanner Tool can reprogramm non key fob keys? I have a 2005 Lexus ES300 and 2001 Toyota Sequoia.

  • @DIYAutoworksNG

    Sure. Tried and tested method it is! Where a scanner/ABS bleed is necessary is if you replaced any components or replaced the ABS lines.

  • @DIYAutoworksNG

    @DIYAutoworksNG

    The ABS bleeding procedure with the scanner on this car does not involve the rear brakes, however, after the scanner procedure, you will be required to bleed all wheels manually following Honda's sequence.

  • @DIYAutoworksNG

    Remember that the procedure is focused on bleeding air out of the ABS itself, not the entire brake system and lines. The manual procedure takes care of air or old fluid in the brake lines.

    It means the test is not supported by the scanner on your car. Can be due to a number of reasons, the car may not support the test or the car does, but the scanner doesn't.

    Just did an ABS bleed with scanner on my jeep wrangler. The scanner only had me bleed the right front and right rear tires then said the operation was complete. It didn’t ask me to bleed the other two tires. Is this normal?
