Beautiful description of a typical hispanic kitchen. Molcajete style has a different flavor because ingredients are mashed, and not cut. Brings out more flavor and natural sweetness. Very impressive.

I'm actually going to try that way. I'm Romanian and I have in my kitchen what we call a mojar which looks quite similar to the molcajaete and we usually use it for grinding garlic and making sauce because, as you say, it makes a certain flavor come out. It's funny because I have that in my kitchen but I will have to go to a big supermarket to find a jalapeno as we have different types of hot peppers here. haha

I made your salsa recipe and sent it over. That night I got a call from her boyfriend. "um I have a question, are you sure you don't have any Mexican in you?" He couldn't believe anybody who wasn't Mexican could make a salsa that good. High praise indeed.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe! I watched your video several months ago and have made the salsa many times. I bought a molcajete so I could make it by hand and my wife and I love it! It takes a little time and care but definitely worth it. I can't imagine that I will ever stop making it now.

I'm Romanian and I have something similar to the molcajaete. We call it mojar and we mostly use it to make garlic sauce. But I was happy to see I'm on the right path for salsa by already having that in my kitchen. haha I can't wait to make some salsa. I want to eat some Mexican food and with limited options when it comes to buying, I decided to cook. Awesome recipe!

Love you 4 this. I work with Mexicans. We drive Dump trucks and cook on the weekends. The Salsa is a staple. I deep fry turkey when it's my turn but they do the sides and Salsa is always there...thank you. That bowl and pedestal thing is what they tell me I need. You confirmed it. 💘

I'm Italian and my wife is Irish/Spanish. I grew up eating traditional Neapolitan food. She makes the best lasagna; everyone on my side of the family agrees. You don't need to be the same nationality as the food you're cooking to make it authentic and good.
