Thanks Chris for talking about this topic. Couldn't agree more. This is definitely hurting us. Whenever there are policies, there are business opportunities. There are always 'smart' people find the loopholes and abuse it. Outside our small local shopping centre, you can spot dozens of delivery drivers sitting in the car waiting for orders at any time of the day.

No you're not being racist, these pricks are scammers, always looking for a scam, makes me really fucking angry. Saturday lunchtime run, which should have been a good day, I got $0.00, not one order over 3 hours, that was with Uber AND I've just paid for my police check, that's a scam on its own, fuck I'm angry right now. Thanks again Chris, another good post. Cheers 🍻

Great video Chris, unfortunately it's gotten much worse than just gig work. I know alot of Aussies that were born here and had successful business that are now struggling to make ends meet, not just due to the housing crisis but these foreign visa scammers are also flooding service businesses by setting up, advertising using google ads and destroying local markets undercutting prices that local aussies cannot afford to compete with and continue to support their young families and so on. Australia has been destroyed.

This is absolutely true, I accidentally went to one myself in Parramatta! I was the only one who turned up every day and completed the work, it felt really odd at the time! 😎

Now immigration is working on it and according to new policies students will be tested before admission, they are not giving visas to college students. This is gonna end but will take time.

I am an international student from India, and believe me, I don't think you're being racist! I can't comprehend these slow-witted individuals who choose to do labor jobs their entire lives and refuse to study. I am paying $36k annually in tuition fees, and this is my final semester. I have never worked more than 23 hours a week and could still afford my rent, food, transportation, and other necessities! In total, I have paid $75k (including $3k for books and miscellaneous expenses), and my first job, which begins on June 18th and which I secured during my internship, is paying me $89k per annum. To anyone reading this... WORK LEGALLY, STUDY DILIGENTLY, AND THIS COUNTRY WILL OPEN DOORS FOR YOU. STOP TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THIS COUNTRY!

People say it's racist? It's also affecting intl students well into their studies. I'm hearing of one who may need to defer their studies in Australia and head home due to rental shortage. Interesting Perth is mentioned. may explain why things are so bad here.

Wouldn't it be easier to just apply for a visa. I'm in America I mean if I wanted to work or live in Australia I would just apply for a visa to work and live there.
