I didn't know Aurora covered this song either! love it! Another song she covered that I haven't seen you react to which was huge on Canadian radio is la la la la by naughty Boy. Just like you said with this song, i never noticed I didn't really pay attention to the lyrics until I could hear them more clearly under Aurora here is a link to her cover if you want to put it in the polls. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iWmDxLNsiNuspNY.htmlsi=xVkJ9xoaSAv3Wrk1

Absolutely right about the lyrics coming through! For me it was like hearing it for the first time even though it's been one of my favorite Alanis songs. Something about the way Aurora sings it just reaches into your soul and makes you feel like she's singing what you want to let out. She's so captivating in her covers and her own music feels so healing in so many styles!

I think this cover is the one that Aurora have change the less, so GOOD. OK I don't want Aurora doing Alanis voice on a film, I want them to calab! They actualy are closer in spirit then we can think at first, They would bring something so incredible toguether. ok I can dream. Thank you Ashlena and to who ever suggested that.

I feel like this is the one song that Aurora has covered that she has changed the least because it's so suitable for her style and voice. I have frisson the entire time I listen to this song, but especially when she sings, "disillusionment." Their voices and styles really lend themselves to each other. Now I think Alanis should cover Aurora. The first suggestion that comes to mind is "Hunger." :D

It is so delicious when she reaches up for those high belts! I could tell you were thinking the same thing. Believe it or not, I heard Aurora's version first. I just don't listen to a lot of mainstream music. When I checked out the original Alanis version, I too heard some similarities in their voices. I agree with you that she has a unique and excellent voice. In fact, I checked out more of her stuff after hearing her original version of this song.

The song is on the record "Good Night Songs for Rebel Girls" celebrating extraordinary women in music. You can find it on Spotify. I think this is the first Aurora cover that is close to the original. She always has a clear pronunciation when she sings, which enables us to understand the lyrics but also to feel them. In this case, however, I'll stick to the original. Not that Aurora didn't do it well, but rather because the original is closely related to my own story. Funny experience a few weeks ago: I'm driving in the car with my teenage twins (17) and Dad's playlist is playing. -Alanis Morissette Thank U-. One says "Do you actually know that Aurora covered the song?" The other replied, "Yes, but that was a long time ago in 2020" - "Yes, yes, but I think the cover is better...." This was followed by a lively discussion about the various Aurora covers. Dad sat quietly and smiled, apparently my two now also (Secretly) sometimes hear Aurora...

@@ashlenamusic If you consider that Dad always gets rolling eyes when he listens to Aurora, or other dad-related music, in the car, then that's something 😂. They mostly listen to American or Danish rap/hip hop music where the word Nig... and Fu.. fills every second verse. Ok... one is more in the direction of Heavy Metal, but still... a small success.😊

This comment has nothing to do with this song, but yesterday I watched the two performances Aurora did in London. The last number she did to close the concert was Invisible Wounds. I expect that the concert you will attend later this year will be much like the ones in London consisting mostly of the songs in her latest album, and endiing it with Invisible Wounds. Make sure you have an adequate supply of tissues on hand. Although the visual and audio quality of the two concerts was not all that great, it appeared to me that the song had deep meaning to her and someone said it looked like she had tears running down her cheeks. The other song that no doubt will pique one's emotions is Dreams. Ashlena, I envy you. I think of all of Aurora's past concerts, this one may be extra special. I, and all of the rest of those who enjoy your reactions, will be anxiously waiting for your reaction to the upcoming concert.

Yes, I totally agree, Alanis is an awesome artist, but Aurora, like you mentioned, she really makes it easy to "listen" to the lyrics, and as an old person with not great hearing, that is just another thing that I really love about her.
