@@ashlenamusic The Nidarosdomen versions of Under Stars and Little Boy in the Grass are jaw dropping. That's how I first came across them. When I finally listened to the studio versions...they felt a wee bit flat tbh. But that's only because those live versions are perfect by comparison. Her very first TV performance, where she sings Awakening, is pretty cool tho! You can definitely hear in that song the vibes she would later perfect. It's a pretty lovely song...and lyrically a dark little fable. And Aurora looks....way more normcore and conventional than she ever looked afterwards lol.

Gurl !! you know I agree with every single word you just said. As a 68 year old woman I haven't been that passionate about any particular artist or band since my teens, Aurora changed all of that for me. She is the best of the best, outstanding in her field, no one comes near her. Thanks for this awesome reaction and I hope your baby girl feels better soon.

I AM crying! This was the video that first introduced me to Aurora. My friend had posted it and I was instantly mesmerized by this magical creature. I watched her performance of The Seed from this same session, then the Nobel performances, and then every-frickin-thing-I-could-find!

I grew up in the time of the 'British Invasion' in music and still love and appreciate the Beatles.........but, this interpretation is magical........"jai guru deva om" is a Sanskrit mantra for self-realization

That was a nice start of the day 😊Love The Beatles, but never listened to this one much. Aurora's version on the other hand... As for harmonies, I think the PNC LIve Studio Session version of "A Dangerous Thing" is great, even without SIlja. "Aurora x Pomme - Live on RHYTHM BY MODZIK" is another gem, with Aurora and Pomme performing "Everything Matters".

This PNC Live Studio Session is wonderful. It's smiling, and so peaceful. As it's an acoustic setting, so rather stripped, and some tempos have been slowed down, her voice is so highlighted, just haunting (and "a Temporary high" is cool too). Rhaaaaaa, what a voice!!!😍 Even if not in Glasgow, it's a great show!😀 Hum, I know you know... 🙃 sorry for rambling, and have a great day, then...🙂 I guess I know already what I will do (listen to?) just now...

@@Josian-ps7fb Hehe, yes I love that Glasgow show! The one I return to the most these days. I like the PNC one a lot as well though, and especially this version of "A Dangerous Thing". Agree on "A Temporary High" for sure! Definitely prefer the stripped melancholy version. Have a good one! 😄

And THIS is why record companies hitting channels like this with copyright strikes is beyond absurd.... It's like they think people are using reaction channels to listen to the actual songs...as if that's how people enjoy full songs. Reaction channels, especially the good ones, make NEW fans...draw new people to an artist. It's literally free advertising....and yet they go after such channels. So weird. The music industry, historically, is SO bad at recognizing new cool (and lucrative) trends until it's far too late. Ok....that's my rant lol. ;P

Your view of Aurora is spot-on. She is the exemplification of "Living your best life" . That's her attraction, we should all strive to be living our best lives.

This performance really makes me miss Silja and Magnus being in the band. They were so perfect and magical all together.

They sure were. I only discovered Aurora two months ago and I am hooked. And I am a solid full-blown heavy metal fan. but I've seen numerous live videos on KZread. Silja and Magnus and Aurora definitely had an energy that was indescribable.

I agree with everything you said 🤗 Beautiful version by Aurora, which I’m pretty sure John Lennon would’ve loved❤️ Lennon wasn’t satisfied with the “Across the Universe” production. He didn’t like it when it was finished in early 1968, and he didn’t like the mix that appeared on Nothing’s Gonna Change Our World. But he still thought the song was one of his best, telling Rolling Stone in 1970: “It’s one of the best lyrics I’ve written. In fact, it could be the best. It’s good poetry, or whatever you call it, without chewin’ it. See, the ones I like are the ones that stand as words, without melody. They don’t have to have any melody, like a poem, you can read them.” Many are saying they miss Magnus and Silja, I do too, but I also miss Fredrik on guitar, he’s a great musician and backup vocalist too❤️ See you next week Ashlena🥰🥰

I agree with you that this is better than the Beatles original version, which although beautiful, was never a favorite of mine and just doesn’t reach the sublime level that Aurora and her band do in this version (and a particular nod to both Silja and Magnus’ backup vocals). The most striking thing is at the end, when Aurora adds the lyrics “are you going to save our world” and then “I am going to save my world” before going back to “nothing’s going to change my world” one last time. As always, a call to action and a personal promise to herself not to give up on making the world a better place.

My recommendation to a reaction is "A touch of the divine". Fantastic peace of art! Singing, dancing, poetry för 24 minutes. There is even a version of the same piece where she speaks for five minutes before the work of art starts. No one has reacted to this, so you could be the first!

Superb and sublime. Absolutely outstanding performance! When I found Aurora years ago it was with her cover of Life on Mars. I find it mind blowing how she creates such achingly beautiful music so consistently. She makes the world a much better place to be.

Ah, Aurora and covers... Here again, she takes the song apart, and puts it back together in her own way. From what exists, she makes a gorgeous ring, and adds her own part of beauty as a gem, setting it there, so to speak. Her musician mates are wonderful here, and the result is much more than a simple addition, everything one does enhances what the others do, it's really awesome. Such a pure and marvelous jewel, this musical ride across the universe... Anyway, thank you for this great and kind reaction to Aurora, this endearing phenomenon, this amazing musical jeweler.🙂👍

And yes, the original version by the Beatles is no comparison to it. I totally agreee with everything yiou said about the cover. But I loved your thoughts and words right after that... this is what reaction channels are all abolut, or what they SHOULD be about ! it would be fun, if you would include reactions to her quotes in your official tuesday reaction. you can find them on youtube if you search for aurora quotes. it's collected by youtuber rob for, who cuts them in short pieces with link to the origin. there are over 500 now. an enormous work for the archive. p.s.: there is a very similar cover version, which is, believe it or not, even on par with auroras from the artist group 'laibach'. it's just way older.

Wonderful yes, but would she have been able to sing this song in the first place had it not been created by others? The creating, the writing, that's the hard part --- making something sound more pretty or aesthetically pleasing is easy after the fact --- lots of artists have done that --- the original was recorded over half a century ago --- of course it's easier to _do it better._ It's just the way modern audiences are wired. This is why most people today would prefer a color remake of an old black and white film regardless of the quality --- it just has to be new and look or sound pretty, that's enough for them. Of course there is no doubting that this rendition of _Across the Universe_ is stunningly beautiful, ethereal and of high quality --- what else would you expect from _Aurora?_ But let's be thankful _The Beatles_ wrote and released it in the first place, otherwise, we would not be here experiencing this amazing performance.
