I stopped hearing anything after you said you’re getting going on the audiobook for The Way of Edan. Bring on Pinocchio and Arnold!!! 😁 Cheers, buddy!

Cheers in Nepal!
What no booshes? 😂 Great video Allen. I really enjoyed Prophet of Edan, and I hope you do as well. 😁
The Ravens Mark trilogy is what got me back into reading and I really enjoyed where it started and where it went. I strongly look forward to hearing your thoughts when you finish it!
I’ll readalong for Shadows of the Apt. I haven’t read it before so I’m looking forward to it.
Good luck with the August reading! Hope you enjoy Gates of Fire more when it reaches the next section :).
❤
Looking forward to your narration of Philip's books. Don't beat yourself up over your "lack of preparedness" on your FIRST AUDIO BOOK NARRATION. Currently reading Frugal Wizard. I'll get back to Will Wight's Elder Empire series after that and then read Yumi.
I'm loving the Empire books - both were 5-star reads for me. Have a great start to the school year!

@@TheLibraryofAllenxandria I’ve actually been back on contract for 2 1/2 weeks, but first day for kids is Tuesday!
I'm currently reading Daughter of the Empire and it is indeed very good
The Last Uncharted Sprints showed up in my feed today (4 days later). Maybe you've broken the algorithm. August TBR sounds great.
The Janny Wurts Empire books are excellent, big love for those, I read them back in the day and have re-read a couple times since. In fact, where are they? Hmmmm, may have lent them to my daughter...
Child of the 80's, I grew up on Feist, Wurts, Donaldson & Williams so I read the Empire trilogy many, many years ago & loved it, would do a re-read but there's just sooo much stuff to read! Light Bringer's very, very good btw..jus' sayin ;-)
Hey non-fiction counts too. I want to see your reviews of those. History with Allen is great
Even though theres still a long wait for book 4 , I loved Scott Lynch and his Lies of Locke Lamorra and am reading the second book in the gentleman bastards . Ive bought daughter of the empire but dont know when ill get too it.
Oooooh I might hop on the Empire trilogy readalong with so many people reading it right now. Excited for you to get back to Shadows of the Apt this year, and especially excited for your Edan audio!
Hey Allen, would it be possible to put indexes in your sprint videos where the conversations happen? It would make it a lot easier to figure out where all the fun stuff is happening.
Quality over quantity, I hope these books will bring you joy!! And take all the time you need with the audiobook recording, I am certain it will be well worth the wait :)))
I'm reading Gai-jin now as well.
Finished Daughter of Empire. No Pug sightings. But I really liked. Am about half way into Prophet of Edan. How about a Maine/Bahstahn accent? Fahlahdria, Sequahrah.

That ending shot with the aviators and peak 80s music, I love it every time it comes up. I read Changes, will be re-reading Golden Fool starting tomorrow, then I guess I'll read the next Dresden Files book, maybe two, before August ends.
Yay!!! Super excited for the Edan audio!
I've been tearing through the Accursed Kings series this month. I'm already on the third one, and it has only been taking me a few days to read each one. I did pause long enough to read the new Dragonlance book, Dragons of Fate. This has been my most productive month all year with reading and maybe my most enjoyable.
All done with Servant of the Empire. Found it better than the first book, for me anyway.

I hope my reviews get to be as fun as I go along.
Best of luck with the audiobook(s)! Had to be you. Someone else might have gotten it wrong.
I just finished Legend which was amazing and lives up to all the hype. I also started Daggerspell on audio by Ruth Urquhart. This book is an absolute gem!! It needs more booktube love stat!! I also listened to Ender’s Game which I think may have the best audio narrator ever…this book also has the best ending ever!!
On my August TBR I have: «First Book of Lankhmar» (a «Fafhrd & the Grey Mouser» by Fritz Lieber Omnibus, so will spread these Classic S&S short stories inbetween the other books), the «Vindolandia» Trilogy by Adrian Goldsworthy (Historical Fiction, set along the Hadrian Wall), «The Tartar Steppe» by Dino Buzzati (Fiction with Kafkaesque features set along a border about to break into war, have the 70s movie adaptation: Gorgeous! Filmed on location at an actual ruined fortress in Iran, with soundtrack by Ennio Morricone!), «Count Belisarius» by Robert Graves (Historical Fiction, about the Byzantine General and Conqueror, often dubbed «The Last Roman»), and «The Last King of Lydia» & «The King and the Slave» by Tim Leach (Historical Fiction centered on Lydian King Croesus and the Persian Empire)!
I'm so excited for the audiobook you're recording! As for the readalong, I've read Daughter of The Empire in May and am almost done with Servant of the Empire (100 pages left) and though I have my issues with the series, I'm so looking forward to the liveshow discussions as the Japanese inspired cultural elements have been so fascinating to me (I wanted to join the Shogun readalong but only managed to read part I, which I already enjoyed so much - I will buy the book when I can in an edition that doesn't make me feel like I'm reading a giant brick 🥴). I found the pacing in book #1 much better (I've seen Evie complain about Daughter telling more than showing, and though it didn't bother me too much in book #1, book #2 sins even more in that area in my opinion). BUT I know the ending of book #2 and it sounds very promising (don't ask me why, I couldn't help myself, I needed some motivation 😅), so I'm looking forward to seeing the whole picture once I finally finish that trilogy. ☺️
I have 3 books this month Rainbow Six (vol. 2) by Tom Clancy, The Path of Daggers by Robert Jordand and Plum Island by Nelson DeMille
Congrats on the successful readalongs!
Any updates on the rest of the Aurelian Cycle? Just finished the whole series and I am floored at how good it was.
I'm currently reading: *Fantasy* Blade of Dream / Daniel Abraham - I haven't been reading as much as I would like recently but this is fantastic so far. *Western* Butcher's Crossing / John Williams - Also fantastic so far. I've put down for now Brandon Sanderson's Final Empire, its good but I'm 200 pages in and I'm just not invested so far so its sitting in limbo of "should I give it more time or just DNF", tbh I'm leaning more and more towards justing DNFing it, especially since recently i want to get to Dagger & Coin, as well as restart either Discworld City Watch or Books of Babel instead.
Jak X Combat Racing was such a fun game. It did crash on me while saving and it wiped out my memory card, but nonetheless I still have good memories of playing it.

@heidi6281 Those are both very good! WoLaS is a step above in writing. Recommendation is taking it slow, you will pick up the style and be barreling along before you know it!
