When your book is published, will we get a “Daniel Greene Author Deep Dive” ?
I started reading WoT because of you and I've loved every page. You've quickly become one of my favorite KZreadrs. As someone who loves fantasy doesn't have an outlet for it in daily life your content is like having a convo with an intelligent friend.

Q- When will "The Witcher" vs "The Wheel of time" going to happen?

Navdeep Singh Saini in the video of him comparing Harry Potter (I think) to the golden compass, he answers that question. He says because he’s cheap and wants money, he’ll do it when the wheel of time tv show airs.
If you shout at Pips when he's on the counter, he'll just learn not to do it when you're looking. Put some double-sided tape on the counter. Cats hate that. After a bit he'll learn not to do that.
"What kind of monster just wads it? That's horrifying!" - The best viewpoint you have EVER given on anything!!! I 100% concur...
I started reading wot August and I’m on the third book now, I’m really liking it so far.

QaA: Whats your top 3 favourite - magic systems?
"he's just moved to Portugal" well, I'll have to meet him then. 😂😂
That cat was making me laugh so hard...XDXD
Tech vs Magic - you're so correct! They way I think of it is that in a magical world where only some group can use magick, non-magick users would be akin to people with disabilities. And Tech would be akin to prostheses.
Thank you for introducing me to the WOT series! I just finished the 1st book and I absolutely loved it!
Thanks for giving Octopus some love!!! So under rated!!
I’ve recently just finished book 7 of the wheel of time and I found that the amount of times RJ mentions bosom increased intensely.
I feel you on the Old Wise Wizard/Mentor trope. It's my all-time fave as well. ❤️
Finished Eye of the World in just over a day, and started Great Hunt. Thank you for convincing me to start it 😀

Finally decided to hit the patreon because I love the work you do man.
Let the Dresden grow! I am very excited to see you are enjoying the series so much.
As a person who seeks to become a author I am happy to have found your channel, please continue you bring the light in the often dark days
Lol had to leave a like after "I'm scared sh#$%ess!" 😂 keep it up my guy
Nice to hear the shout out on Patrick O’Brian’s series. I had a hard time getting started in the first book but once I found my stride, I plowed through his books. I have no desire at all to go out to sea but I was fascinated by his books.
Goosebumps is an amazing book series for nostalgia! I have lots of fond memories of reading those books back in the day
Thx for taking my recommendation forQandA thank u :)
I’ll definitely be here for a full series of King videos. I can’t get enough!
Love the new bookshelf
Mistborn Lore deep dive! My favorite series! So pumped!
Cool point about technology and magic systems. I hadn't looked at the issue that way before.
I feel like Philip DeFranco is a good metric for finding out if a person is a decent human being
LOVING the tech vs Magic comparison.
old, wise, badass and crazy Bayaz agrees your favorite trope.
If you love Master & Commander, you should read the Horatio Hornblower books (and possibly the Honor Harrington sci-fi series)
im glad i watched this, cause i always wanted to read master and comander, and never heard anyone talking about it
you should make a video where you take a bunch of fantasy personality quizzes, Like what kind of allomancer you are or what kind of surgebinder, or what element you bend from avatar or colour from lightbringer. It would be a good video.
3 things 1. For the Harry Potter duel thing, in the books and sometimes in the movies it is shown that they don't have to say words aloud if they reach a certain level. 2. Is there Mr. Pip merch and if so where do I get it! 3. Can you do a video on main characters facing off and who you would think would win?(maybe bad guys to?)
Dude, I mean Dainiel. I was listen to the radio just the other day, and this woman was taking about about Octopuses (Octopies?) She said, there is no animal on Earth that are more different than us, and they aliens on Earth. Cosider this, most people who work with them, like them, when exposed to them. She told this story where this one where a woman was frighten of Octopuses, and they repelled her. After a few weeks, the repulsion vanished, and she liked them just fine. She said, "When you work with octopuses, you just have this feeling, that there is something there, a consciousness looking back at you, and it's not horrible.
@Kikilang60

She also said, "When we do meet Aliens, we going to do just fine, if octopuses are any indications."
"Frothing at the mouth with puberty" 😂
100% have to agree with the comment on one of your past videos that said that your editing made a leap from very good to "hard to see how it could be done any better"
So glad you named your pet Pips. If I had a pet it would be Pips or most likely Bella. I am not a horse person but how can you not love Bella.
Can you do a video on what you mostly do during the 12 hour work day?
Oohhh like stormlight kind of where only certain people get shard plate but people are trying to create an artificial version I feel like that's a pretty good example
on magic vs tech question i thought you were going to bring up "a little hatred" is right right behind you. it also reminded me of Fables, in their fight against The Adversary.
Pips trolling Daniel Greene is the best thing I've watched today.
Been a fulltime streamer for 8 years and the "I'm scared shitless" moment rang so true. The feeling doesn't go away unless you blow up and become rich unfortunately... but I still wouldn't trade it for any other career.
King series with deep dive at the end!
PUT HIM DOWN BEFORE HE STRUGGLES - Daniel Greene, 2019
You should do a video of your cat... just cuz 🐈🤩 also, what books your cat would like based on its personality
I have to echo alot of the comments below, THX for recommending the WOT, luv the first book so far!
Adorable cat
I mean the question about whether magic or technology is more powerful in terms of conflict is kind of silly since it can be however the worldbuilder wants it. Magic is not something that exists in this world, and so is a totally free variable that one can alter and change into as many permutations as one wants. Technology is also a variable, albeit a more restricted one, since one can place a technological level at whatever place you want in history.
I like the idea of a few videos on king and wrapping it up or starting it with an author deep dive.
Q - Will you ever (even in the far future) review sci-fi? Also, grabbed a copy of 'The Blade Itself' on your recommendation. Not disappointed, cheers!
Dangit...you are becoming my favorite KZreadr!
For the Tech vs Magic issue visualized, check out "Wizards" (the Ralph Bakshi film).... kinda trippy (in the Bakshi manner), but a decent take on a future world where magic and tech collide.
I've never quite understood the concept of a "redemption arc" in fiction. (Or real life, even!) What is the standard for the wrongdoer to be considered "redeemed"? Who sets that standard? After all, there are things in life that cannot be "fixed" or undone. The core of "redeemed" means bought back / paid for. Does the wrongdoer decide what is sufficient payment for what they've done? And payment to whom? The person, family, or society they have wronged?
Good episode D
0:07 Sanderson interview incoming soon :P
Hey Daniel, Consider moving your LED lighting in your book shelf to the bottom of the shelf behind the books, it will still give ambient lighting and won’t wash out in your videos. Just a thought, keep up the dream!
Have a great weekend!! 🎃👻
Funny, Mount Gilead as in Gilead in the handmaids tale
Portugal, yey! :)
Idk if Maddie is a reader too, but if not I wonder what is her favorite series to hear you gush about.
Cool video my man. If you love octopodes then i recommend you take a look at Adrian Tchaikovksy's Children of Ruin if you havent already. As always love from the UK man.
Aww, Pips is all grown up :)
Do you think you can do a read along? Maybe on Patreon or discord or some such? Would be awesome to have a group of people reading the same thing at the same speed (by setting goals) and exchanging ideas. Did i just describe a book club?
Did Daniel just "RAFO" us with the Brandon Sanderon interview?

Great call on Master & Commander. Those are tremendous books. If you’ve never seen the movie (starring Russell Crowe), please check it out - it’s such an underrated gem!! One of my all-time favorite films.
What is your opinion on web novels? And have you heard or read "Mother of Learning"?
I really can’t wait until you get through Changes from the Dresden Files. You’ve got to make a new video once you get there. Also, consider the audio books for The Dresden Files. James Marsters (Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is an incredible narrator for that series. He IS Dresden.
Whether it's possible or not, I would love love love to see you interview Stephen King.
Always fold. In my mind, wadding leaves possible gaps... ewww LOL
I’ve heard Octopode because Octopus is Greek and that would be the Greek version. Heard it on a trivia podcast years ago.
U talked me into king damnit will be looking forward to more king videos. All hail daniel
Can we get a snippet of your book, like a couple pages?
7:33 the plural of Octopus is Octopods.
Have you read any Terry Brooks or Tad Williams? If so what were your thoughts.
Love what you're doing, dude. Just promise me something. Don't burn yourself out. I know you're a workaholic, but it is ok to step away from it every once in a while. (Something I think Maddie is helping you with a great deal, based on what you said, here.)
You should read Anne Rice's vampire books. They are horror historical fiction with some fantasy and science fiction that has thrown in the mix. ☺ I love those books.
TA for your opinions. I agree (mostly), but as American that is my right to slightly disagree. :) My question is what do you look for in a new writer of young adult fiction books? Humor, suspense, or details (Harry P took ONE bath in seven books - tell me the food they ate....)
now i have to read master and commander. god damn it
I half expected when you held up Pips that you were gonna say that you trapped Greene Daniel in Pips' body. Now I'm slightly disappointed.

As broke as my ass is...I might have to be a patron because your channel is so damn good.
Q `n A ... What about the origin stories of Star Wars? a lot of magic is in there.. and Tech!!
What is the name of the outro song. I don't know i always feel a bit bittersweet after listening to it
plural of octopus is octopodes or octopuses, i prefer the former cause it's more fun
I do agree that authors often do focus too much on women’s physical appearance, but in my reading experience I’ve found it happening with men in a roughly equal amount. Men are also initially introduced with focus on their height, muscle, jawline, ect. However when the characters physical attributes are unremarkable I find it not mentioned much for both men and women. Just my experience so far. Loved the video though, great job.
Great to see a fellow Witcher fan, have you played the games
I was so sure you were about to say Green Daniel had moved to Pips body the way you held him up and hesitated while talking hahaha!
DO A SERIES ON STEPHEN KING!!
You've probably answered this a million times but I haven't watched all your videos. I'm currently on LoC and it's almost starting to feel a smidge slough-y. Where, roughly, would you say the slough starts/ends?
Octopuses is probably the most correct. And yes, they are the best.
I would read the first Goosebumps book Welcome to Dead house again if I were you. I read it for the first time this year, and it scared the shit out of me. I wanted to read the Goosebumps I didn't read as a kid and my god! That first one was one of my biggest fears. It was creepy!
Can you go back and review buzzfeed's and pasture's top fantasy of all time list.
@Daniel greene should I start with Brandon Sanderson books or Brent weeks help me
also there is a fair argument that the reason magic is secret in harry potter is becouse if there were a conflict between the magic and nonmagic world the magic world the muggles would win. (and that makes Voldermort dangerous because his superior speacies views will end with all wizards dead and not all muggles subservient)
Hey Daniel! Ever read "The Magic kingdom of Landover"? If so, what did you think of it?
Recently saw your video on the different subgenres of fantasy and noticed that you haven't gone into alternate history much. I can recommend Harry Turtledove. He's got a great series about aliens invading during WWII, and it covers from multiple viewpoints all the political and physical interactions between all the players. You know some more realistic and serious take on an intelligent race with its own cultural and biological natures that means to conquer and rule with superior-to-the-time tech... but not really wanting to drop nukes and ruin the planet for the colonization fleet coming in sometime behind them... He's also got some similar stuff, like what if Robert E Lee was at the Alamo, or if the South had won the war. Though I haven't read into those, I was more interested in his magical version of WWII. Dragons stand in for planes, behemoths for tanks, leviathans for submarines, crystal balls for radio communication, ley lines as natural energy sources and ships/trains that allows fast travel but only along those lines, and other stuff like that. Still a gritty view of war from perspectives on all sides and in all sorts of positions and occupations as he does in his alien invasion series.
I have a request for a comparison video. Bella from Wheel of Time vs Samwise Gamgee from Lord of the Rings!
Have you ever talked about Dragonlance? Chronicles and Legends to be specific. I didn’t grow up on the Lord of the Rings so this was my “Lord of the Rings” until I watched the movies and then read the books 📚 What is your opinion about Dragonlance?
Added Q: When will you interview Joe Abercrombie?

Dean Ryan Martin yes I need this
One common theme in Fantasy is the old ways of dying in the rise of technology. Do you think Fantasy should explore coexistence between fantasy and technology?
I have been thinking about your Lightbringer review off and on ever since I watched it, and "divisive" is the word that sums up that volume and ending to a tee. I too recieved my copy early and tore through it, but was heartbroken with disappointment with how sloppily I felt that it was done, how too many things were tied up too nearly with not enough explanation, NEXT SENTENCE IS A VERY VAGUE SPOILER. (ex: The Secret Pirate Queen reveal and Immortals plotline wrap up, then reflection on the integration of that into the story as a whole were both gutwrenching in their sloppiness and hastiness.) The book was so divisive, i am divided with myself, and as a result I can't even rate it as a whole work, because you have the first 1/3rd which was 15/10 amazeballs! Then the last 1/3rd, which suffered frim Night Angel Ending Syndrome, It felt rushed, sloppy, hasty, victories unearned, way too fucking many fakeouts, there were things that should have been explained, literal deus ex machina, timeline issues, and I feel like the quality of the writing dropped in that portion of the book, and got worse in the epilogues. I am super, super hugely dissapointed in this book, and I can't wait for your spoiler review, when you can expand on the issues.
