I can't imagine how difficult it must be to play songs like this one live, his voice, the sound. RIP Chris
Rest in Peace Chris Cornell.
Absolutely no fucking vocal effort. Man's a legend ✌🏽👌🏽
Has any one else ever noticed how Chris talks about the sun quite often in his lyrics- just something I noticed
@ryanprice1889

Was just thinking about this the other day. The word ‘sun’ does occur pretty frequently in Soundgarden, Audioslave, and his solo work lyrics

Amplifying the bass line on this song was totally needed. It's so good
This version of the solo is the one that should’ve made the album. So much soul.

Why did they leave it out like that in the album though. I don't think Tom had a problem coming up with a solo for that part in the final version.

Interesting. I was just thinking of how this solo pales in comparison to the album version. I really love that solo, I think it's one of the best uses of the whammy pedal ever. I'm talking about the second part, not the single notes.

Depression is an awful disease to live with. It eats away at your soul so you have nothing left. I'm 63 and I function on a day to day basis with this. Good days and bad days. You have to find something in your world which makes you want to carry on. With Chris it came to a point where he could not, the same s Chester as well. God rest their souls.

And he used to wear earrings in two ears, nothing shining or fancy, a great sense of aesthetics. He was the man and have the face perfect for that. After his wedding some changes were implemented. The earrings were gone, the hair always cut very short, an enormous tattoo over the little one he had in his right upper arm, white tennis shoes, gap stile pants, fancy coats. This went on up until 2007-2009, when he seemed to take part of control again, by then he looked tired, thinner and sad. When he finally reunited with SG, he started to look and sing better and better with age.

@@adriana4489spot on. She completely changed him. Only in this final years did he gain back some control but he was defeated. You can see it in his face and performances. He was trauma bonded before it was ever a thing. ❤

Damn how I wish I could have seen Chris Cornell with audioslave, one of their best songs and great performance
Man it is easy to forget how exceptional a guitarist Morello actually is under all his effects. The effects are incredible and make him what he is, wouldn’t have it any other way, but its just great to hear him every so often just let loose and pour his soul into just a straight forward guitar solo.
Chester bennington said it in a radio interview. He precisely explained what depression is . I totally related to what he said and it's not easy to live with. You just want the pain to end. The constant unhappiness is brutal. RIP C.C.

"Memory of the one Who lives inside my skin" I promise U this will not be the last time i heard this song...... & this song will be accompany me till the end of my time...... RIP Chris Cornell.
I wish I could like it at least a million times!
Tom’s solo so rocks in this version. Tim’s thundering bass. R.I.P. Chris. What a band. 💯👏🥰
It still blows my mind that Cornell teamed up with the guys from RATM all these years later. You just knew it was going to be epic!

Perfection. Can't believe it's been more than 20yrs
I could relate on verse-3 so much. Got Asperger and my long term-memory is killing me. Every small happening fires a (larger)memory in my head. I've seen, endured and felt to much. Nothing really to be learned anymore. "Shapes of every size Move behind my eyes Doors inside my head Bolted from within Every drop of flame Lights a candle in Memory of the one Who lived inside my skin" Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington, both are in my heart/soul forever.
I really really miss you Chris!!
A wave full of memories hit me whenever I listen to Audioslave’s music. Makes me nostalgic. I love this son, it’s my favourite. Chris we miss you, you may be dead, but your fans aren’t. Your songs will live within us and we will pass it on to the coming generation.
Today is June 20, 2024 and I still feel the same way I did on May 18, 2017 when we all heard the unbearable news. he was a godsend for us all! I can’t wait to see him when it’s my turn to leave here. Love and light to everyone!
some people told me richie kotzen can sing those songs.... but when I hear chris sing that shit, i just start to cry with nonsense.
It's weird now, how at the end of the vid he has his hands up to the heavens. Very symbolic now that he's gone. RIP CC. Say Hello To Heaven For Me!!
Shadow on the sun Once upon a time I was of the mind To lay your burden down And leave you where you stood And you believed I could You'd seen it done before I could read your thoughts And tell you what you saw And never say a word But now all that is gone Over with and done Never to return And I can tell you why People die alone I can tell you I'm A shadow on the sun Staring at the loss Looking for a cause And never really sure Nothing but a hole To live without a soul And nothing to be learned And I can tell you why People go insane I can show you how You could do the same I can tell you why The end will never come I can tell you I'm A shadow on the sun Shapes of every size Move behind my eyes Doors inside my head Bolted from within Every drop of flame Lights a candle in Memory of the one Who lived inside my skin I can tell you why People go insane I can show you how You could do the same I can tell you why The end will never come I can tell you I'm The shadow on the sun Shadow on the sun Shadow on the sun Shadow on the sun Shadow on the sun Shadow on the sun Shadow on the sun Shadow on the sun Shadow on the sun Sun Sun
the solo WTF!!!!great
I can maybe. MAYBE belt this song out once. But to do this in a concert after who knows how many songs and still sound that good blows my mind.
Timmy C...man...the best!!!!
Enemy of microphone stands everywhere. Chris could murder'em. I watched him slam the mic stand into the stage mercilessly and the stage guy kept running out with more duct tape! 2003 at The Pageant was EPIC. Some people to say to me 'I dont like Audioslave' then I ask did you like R.A.T.M? They answer' yes'. Did you like Soundgarden? 'Yes' is the answer. Then I say well how the hell do you not like Audioslave? They basically sound like what you would imagine it to sound like before they were a band. Well it did for me anyway. Great band great riffs whats not to like lol.
