I have followed Audioholics for quite some time and I have noticed Audio Advice for a couple of years. It doesn't take long to realize that Audio Advice videos with Scott's narration is the real deal. Scott is knowledgeable and genuine and does not waste our time on things that really don't matter. Also, he appears to choose his product line carefully. Good job, guys!

Gene, I hear that Sound United has entered into an agrreement to be acquired by Masimo, a global medical tech company. Perhaps a subject that would make for an interesting discussion on one of your live episodes.

Amazing Partnership! One thing I would like to see is a dedicated Theater Room, that also doubles as a Stereo Listening Room!

I'm a listener from Boone NC so it's cool to hear from a NC business. I was a student living in Raleigh North Carolina and I bought many speakers from Craigslist during the time. Most of the speakers I purchased were originally from audio advice! I heard nothing but positives about audio advice. I pieced together my set of Linn AV5140/5120 and Snell SUB 550 and they make a fantastic system!

Hey Gene, I just wanted to mention, that maybe could you have a video going over the best amplifier/receiver for home theater users, who want to create a great home theater with as few amplifiers/receivers as possible. I mean what I am looking for is a detailed review/comparison between the Denon x-8500ha, and maybe the Marrantz 8805 I believe. Though this could change based on what Denon announce /release this year, for a big full home theater receiver, type products… but I have no idea, unless you guys recommend I go with the Denon or Marrantz, for I am just getting started with a dedicated home theater. For I have a room in my basement, that we have added about 6-9 or so Klipsch cdt-5800 c II, in ceiling speakers in various places, that I think should work with Dolby Atmos, with the rest of the Klipsch rf-7 iii line of speakers, now I have generally liked the loud horn type of sound the Klipsch provide, but I want to make sure I buy the proper receiver to take advantage of the wattage, those speakers can provide. I should also note that I should have enough speakers to make either a full 7.2.7 or a 9.2.7 set up possible, though I also realize I can’t connect a 7.2.7 since I don’t think their is a receiver with 14 channels of output… at the present time.

Would sure love to see a future review of the Heco Celan revolution 9 that audio advice sells. I'm considering pulling the trigger on this particular tower but there are no reviews in English anywhere that I can find.

You should do a video on using MSO (Multi Sub Optimizer) to get better seat to seat consistency for bass.

I've tried it out & my results were less than my expectations; unfortunately. Have you used it? How'd it work for you?

  • @brandobond

@@doublet147 It worked pretty good. I tried following some guides for getting flat bass using just REW and I had a perfect response at the MLP. Then I measured some other seats and most were terrible! That's when I tried MSO. Took a while to learn but it was a big improvement and I achieved decently flat base from seat to seat. However there are some issues between 120hz and 200hz. I'd love to see a video on using MSO to do mains integration too since I think that is what is causing my problems (and I haven't found a tutorial for using the subs+mains option on MSO).

@@brandobond same here. I used REW & got great MLP levels; other seats weren't bad but sporadic. When I tried MSO, it made every seat slightly better than average. None were good enough though. The results didn't warrant the change IMO. However, I will say, I have six seats I'm trying to balance & no acoustic treatments currently. I have treatments on the way. I'm looking forward to trying MSO again after I install them.

I notice that you say DIY a lot in the video but I do not see anything DIY related on the Audio Advice site. Do you have another site that sells drivers, capacitors, power supplies, etc? Either that or what do you mean by DIY? Either way great selection of speakers on the main site.

Hi, I have new flagship Denon AVC110 Great. Setup using a mic. After watching many youtube post now decided to set up a manual. Great. My question is my 2ch music has SVS sub and B&W CDM9 I have set Sub + Mains and Front speaker to large with cross-over set at 80Hz. I have set my films to all speakers small and the subwoofer only cross-over 80Hz. my side speakers are CDM1 B&W and all my speakers are wired 5.1 Bi-amp. Any tips or advice I could consider trying out would be great full.

43:15 I think it's infuriating the amount of people online who recommend that you buy multiple pairs of headphone or multiple pairs of speakers to figure out what you like. I see so many people saying "well it's Amazon so they can eat the cost" but that's simply not true in many cases. The seller on Amazon is who gets screwed over, not Jeff Bozo. Buying things you know you will return is a waste of resources and a waste of other people's money. DON'T DO IT!
