I just bought a 2014 Audi S3 cabriolet. Fully optioned besides the auto folding mirrors, in Sepang blue. Previous owner had it modified at a well renowned place. Underground Performance in Australia. It's got the CTS downpipe and intake, turbo elbow, dogbone mounts, vogtland lowering springs, and of course stage 2 dyno tuned. ECU and TCU. Been following your channel since before I bought it. Considering going stage 3 after I sort out the roughness of the ride. I think it's because of the 19 inch rims and the lowering springs. It has magneride. Hopefully those shocks don't need replacing soon. It's not too bad, but we have shit roads in Australia. Thinking 17 or 18 inch rims with some ps4s tyres. Launch control doesn't seem quite right either. Too much wheel spin. 3 of the tyres are good, the front left one was a cheaper replacement unfortunately.

Thinking I need spark plugs, coil packs, high pressure fuel pump, definitely an intercooler because it's stock still, the turbo... Anything I'm missing?

Forgot to mention it's got 100k kilometres on the clock. Was modified and tuned at 20k.

Such a great build! I’m thinking about the vortex xl for mine too. Is it possible to run that turbo without MPI SYSTEM? I don’t want to get into e85 strictly 91-93 octane tunes. Curious if just upgrading to slightly larger injectors would work.

Thank you! And you should you’ll love it! And I believe to run the XL you need the mpi kit and the lpfp but that’s something you can ask eqt themselves I’m not too familiar but from what I’ve read and asked it’s the setup you need. I also don’t plan to run e85 for a while just a 93 tune

The is38 has a common issue as it happened on my friend’s Golf R, the thrust bearing is the weak point. Well in the UK its common known with the IS38

You think the bearing on the hot side of the turbo went bad causing the fins to make contact with the housing ?

@@_NB233 I believe it’s called IHI it’s who supplies the genuine is38 for Audi/vw

I'm running that kit. I'm still waiting on sensors though.

No you don’t have to, the oil feeds in there by that line almost instantly on startup

Hey did you start the engine without connecting the actuator or just waited for the extension to ship to you?

No I didn’t start it until the extension came. I was so mad that I had to wait a few weeks lol.

Heaps of good tips I don't think I'll be doing it , but anything can easily pass through the turbo....haven't you seen the video of that airforce guy that gets sucked through the jet engine and couple of hours later giving an interview with a bandage on his head

Thank ya, and yeah it’s not the easiest for jobs but very true I just figured there would be signs of damage on the intake side if it went to the exhaust side

It’s weird seeing people upgrade from the is38 cause I’m upgrading to the is38 from the is20 on my a3 😂

fair, I don't want to go too big and turn it into a money pit, I'm in the army and can barely afford this as is. so to make it even less reliable wouldn't be smart, but stage 2 93 oct s3 level power should be fine without building internals. and its my daily so eventually once its paid off and i get a civic for a daily then ill start shooting for really big power @@RatchetWrenches
