I have problems to start, have changed so many parts, now i think it is my decompression valve/pin The little thing to realise pressure when starting

    So if im hearing some timing chain noise can i try this meathod i seen of losening the two outer bolts on the timing chain tensioner until i hear a click then tighten them? Will this hurt my valves or something?

    Excellent video. I have a Massimo 500 that I am getting ready to get into. It cut off the other day. When I try to crank it turns real fast. I removed the side plate on the head yesterday and turned key. Timing sprocket didn't turn. What do you think? Thanks.

    Could have broke the chain or it had too much slack that it disconnected from the crank sprocket that drives the timing chain. Either way sounds like you need to open it up and get it fixed!

    My magneto and starter gear are both in good condition but after it has been torqued the starter gear has the smallest amount of in and out play. Must be the washer in between the starter gear and timing chain gear is wore? Should a guy replace the washer or could it be something else?

  • @Hunters_Mechanics

    Did you place the washer at 2:56 as well? That one should eliminate the play. The washers shouldn''t wear down at all, especially to cause a noticeable play

    Since the magnet sits on a key, the magneto will always show the position of the crank, so when the magneto is lined with the 'I", the piston will always be TDC

    @@Hunters_Mechanics right on man thanks for being so quick to respond as well. i appreciate that! so upon tearing mine apart for idk 4th time or better lol, i i got a little more meticulous with it. i had pressed the bearings and bushings in but i didnt pres the thrust bearing i think its called or crush bearing lol not sure but the washers and bearing that they sandwich on the chain side. i pressed all that in and its night and day the difference! im still having some slight play from something when i get going down the road it wants to pull just a bit one way or the other every so often if that makes sense. so all the goofy pulling wasnt due just to the rear end but i think its the bearings in my a arms. food for thought is all i guess. love the content though im thinking its coming in for the winter and tore down to the frame and gone through so your videos will be verry useful then as well thanks man!!

  • @Hunters_Mechanics

    @Hunters_Mechanics

    2 жыл бұрын

    You may have your cam installed 90° off, that would cause it to look like its at top dead center but in reality the piston is only half way to TDC. Unless you mean you have the bottom end gear lined up with the line in the case and its at halfway to TDC, then something is wrong lol let me know more details

    @@Hunters_Mechanics The bottom is lined up at the bottom, and the cam is in line with the marks on the cam shaft has th holes up with the compression bolt on the side just as in your video but if I stick a screwdriver or wire to touch the piston its mid stroke Or in the middle . @@rickrob7380 are you for sure that the piston isn't at top dead center since the spark plug hole is so deep itself? If the bottom is line up with the marking inside the case or the slit on the case, that has to mean its at top dead center.
