The bike looks so much better with the twin exhausts. A balanced look that was missing from the old one.
Well, that looks ten times better with the twin pipes, Freddie. You can now install a centre stand, which makes life much easier when maintaining the chain or removing the rear wheel. Well done.

Exactly my thoughts- a centre stand will be my next purchase
Nice work Freddie. I'd say you've got your mechanic to thank for the exhaust coming off easily, it would have been removed to fix the engine. I'm glad someone else enjoys quiet stock bikes like myself.

makes total sense. They are fairly tough, cheap, easily found in local supermarkets and they work.

They’re now my gloves of choice. Whenever I used to use the mechanic’s latex gloves, I’d always have about three fingers that’d break. Marigolds always stay in tact, plus I can seamlessly go straight downstairs from doing the dishes or cleaning the bathroom, to working in the bike😆

Hi Freddie. Don't forget that it's all been apart recently for the engine work, so it's no surprise that it all came undone easily. It might have been a different story if it hadn't been touched for a few years!
Marigolds aside, impressed that you’re doing motorcycle repairs with a light coloured top, and it’s still clean!
Well done Freddie, you never know what you can do until you roll up your sleeves and have a go!
I would never have gotten away without oiling up the smart fleece!
Really enjoyed the section on the watch, i was a kid when Kneival was at his peak and he was a huge star. Good job on the exhaust, a huge improvement
Oh man! Even me (here in far and snowy Russia) is so much glad for you to change that such an unpretty exhaust to a stock one! The motorcycle looks perfect and harmoniously! Sounds like a heavenly music played by angels! 🎶🎶🎶💨😍
The reason it was so easy is because it would have been removed to replace your head gasket.😊 Not wishing to be that guy but ...Danish company manufacturing a Swiss watch?😂

First point spot on Kingdom MC broke the back of getting the exhaust off first after 5 years , secondly, lots of non Swiss watch makers say "Swiss made" UK based Christopher Ward is just one example..

Watches are often designed in a specific country - UK, France, US, etc. and then assembled in Switzerland with a Swiss movement so they can carry the “Swiss Made” label.
@ianfunnell8076

I’m guessing that’s because they just package a bought in Swiss movement? Such as all the micro brands that use the Seiko automatic movement!
@madrat5176

@@ianfunnell8076That’s exactly what they do. Microbrands often go with a Seiko or Miyota Japanese movement, while “Swiss Made” microbrands go with Sellita or sometimes ETA ones.

I'm partial to Chinese manufactured Swiss watches .... 😂
Dont beat yourself up over fitting the exhaust. We've all been there. Its all part of the learning curve.....👍
Don’t tighten one bolt until you have fitted them all!! Old mechanics wisdom. And don’t forget the engine has recently been apart. Much better looking with the proper exhaust!!
Congratulations! You were really teasing the mechanic gods by putting away the toolkit before starting the 'riumph!
Job done, so satisfying when you get your spanners out and DIY, 👍👍
I love your taste in music Freddie, very chilled.
It’s so satisfying working on the bike. I appreciate your apprehension but by taking things slowly you achieved your goal.
Hi Freddie, it looks much better than before and more classic. Enjoy the new look and sound. Alex
Wow. Intersting as usual. Thanks for convincing me that my love for Triumph's will remain unrequited. Such a money pit scares the hell out of me. Certainly a labour of love.
Freddie, that exhaust is much, much more in keeping with the look of the bike now (king and queen seat, pannier rack, original mirrors etc) - great job. Now onto that tank badge!..
So glad you out the proper pipes back on. I hate 2 into 1 pipes especially on the Bonneville. Looks so much better now.
Fantastic production Freddie .your channel is getting better and better 👏
Having the speed twin 900 myself I wondered why people buy aftermarket exhausts. It takes away the balance, the beauty and the most perfect sound away. Glad to see you restored all of it!
Glad you managed to swap the exhausts back to stock. You look very happy with it!
Good job Freddie! Yes love the Marrigolds gives it that domestic touch! Great to see you getting hands on with the Riumph Bonnie.... more power to you.
That Riumph you have really is a thing of beauty 😂 I love that you still haven't gotten to removing the rest of the tank badge haha
Oh yessss the green canvas baggie with the yellow glovies.... Fashionboy Freddie goes all in. But i like his tailpipes.
I have messaged you and bought you a coffee - the gasket arrived yesterday. Thank you so much! The biking community is awesome! Well done on the exhaust. 👍😀

Ohh Freddie the mechanic 😂😂⭐️ I’ve actually never removed the headers before the mufflers 😉 however, you’re the first to show me anything is possible if you put your mind to it 👌 It sounds still cool for a classic bike🤙 Well done super cool dude.

I hadn’t even considered this, but now you mention it, it does make more sense starting from the mufflers!
Honestly at the start of this video I was thinking why is he spending even more money on that old bike. Once you fired it up it all made sense. It’s a fantastic bike that is very much you and your channel. But what impressed me the most is that you work in your bike in clothes that I would only ever consider suitable for the pub and socialising. The most dapper biker we know. 😂👍
Now she looks like a proper retro❤ Should have done this the first day you got this bike. Btw, big fan of your channel.❣️🙂

Great job there Freddie! Nothing quite as satisfying as succussfully completing a job at the top end of your skillset. It looks way better, sounds way better. And it's made you fall even more in love with it! Well done 👏
It's sooo good to see someone who isn't a professional and feeling nervous do their own spanner work, I always try to do my own and sometimes feel so nervous and scared of things going wrong so great video glad it went as it should 🎉
Bike looking and sounding good. That triumph sound ❤
Great looking exhaust on your beloved Riumph
Congratulations on the “new“ exhaust! Not only does it sound great, it LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER! I was hoping to see Monika‘s initial reactions and feedback to the new exhaust, but she did note near the end that she loved it, too. Seriously, it absolutely changes the look of that bike. Now, you need to find an original Bonneville snap-on cover for the right side. 😉 I noticed you have what looks like a Motone customs cover on the right, and the original on the left.
Ive collected a few speeding fines in travels around europe . Never paid any of them !! We're not in the EU anymore!
Looks like you are falling in love with your bike again, very glad to see AND hear, what a looks and sound she has now! I have read some advise on tightening the bolts of the exhausts from front (at engine) first to back in order, after the bike has been heating up for a few minutes. That way there won’t be any tension in between parts when in operation and this might prevent failure in future. Sounds very logical to me so just wanted to let you know. Well seems like you are ready for that bike trip to the Netherlands! ;) I can share some nice places if you would like to know, road wise and even a nice Triumph/ Moto Guzzi dealer. Enjoy the ride! Greatings from the Netherlands, Gert
Freddie, can I recommend you using those interlocking foam floor mats when working on your bike, so much kinder on the knees that they'll thank you for it.
Much much better,weldone Freddie.
Well done Freddie 🎉 !!!
The bike looks so much better , 👏👏🏴✊🏴
The exhaust sound now dignified and noble. Good decision.
Freddie, The Spanish Traffic Authority, (Direccion General de Trafico) must be on a roll, I received my speeding fine through the post last Friday - 15th June 2023, 74km/h in a 50km/h zone on my GSA. 300€ but if paid within 20 days only 150€ (😂) - 50% discount. A winner 🤣🤣🤣
Oh that sounds really good.
Speaking of Evel Knievel, I was at his infamous Snake River jump in 1974. I rode there from Portland on my Ducati 750 Desmo.
It looks and sounds better now , glad it disassembled easily, probably due to the previous work you've had done , enjoy the ride ! 👍
I live in Las Vegas and saw Evel Knievel’s collection of motorcycles at the local Harley-Davidson dealer and the one that you showed was also there in the collection.
Thank you Freddie & Monika for another wonderful view into your World.
Evel knievel really was in a league of his own when it comes to doing crazy stunts. I think I remember when he was doing the jump in Wembley stadium he was told it was impossible and he'd crash, but he just turned round and said what do you want me to do, give all these people their money back. Really just a crazy guy. The new exhaust looks the business. I thought the old one looked a bit weird, didn't really suit the bike.
I love the look of the twin exhaust
great sound and the overhall look is much better
Freddie now you have rode for a bit give the exhaust nuts a tweek now there bedding in dont over do it . Great job

Thanks Michael, I’ll do this this week
Great to see you get your exhaust sorted out. The 865s have that true Triumph sound, unlike the emulated Harley burble of the 270° watercooled Triumphs today. The duel exhaust brings it out perfectly.
Well done fella. 👍🏿 You can never wait for the shutter to get to the right height so you don't have to bend your neck to get out.😂 Love the excitement you display. Proper biker characteristic that is, as I am usually the same rushing to get my gear on so I can get out to ride. Lol Keep up the good work fella it's been great watching you evolve this channel over the years. God bless.
Much better, as it should be ❤
Even forgetting about the change in the sound, the original exhaust looks so much better. Good job 👍🏻
You have worked out why for a lot of riders the first mod they do is an exhaust swap - it's pretty simple! I'm a big fan of this kind of swap too - making the bike a bit more "standard".
The Riumph looks and sounds so much better👍👍 Personally I don't understand the fascination with watches, much rather spend the money on bikes.
Well done. Time normally expands when I try these sorts of job as more and more problems crop up! Looks and sounds so much better. Not sure I’d have worn a white sweatshirt though, I usually end up ruining whatever I’m wearing…
Freddie, Great Job !! All went well. None of my jobs ever go so smoothly !! You saved yourself a ton of money. Take Care, Dave
Bright yellow marigold gloves are always a good sign of a pro mechanic. 😂 I had every confidence in you. Another great video Freddie and love your positivity in all you do. Top man!
Nice one Freddie! Sounds great. Love the Marigolds 😂
Thanks alot Freddie !! I have just put in an order for the Knievel watch, when I had no intention of buying a watch. I hope you're proud of yourself ;) Cant wait to get it ! Evel Knievel and Harley Davidson in a watch? It what dreams are made of.
Freddie, when fitting a exhaust, never tighten anything until it is all together and lined up, then start tightening from front to back, and loose the marigolds! 🤣
That's just better in every way ❤
Looks great....the original look is cool.
It would look top notch with the exhaust polished!
The Bonneville looks and sounds so much better now. Great job! 👍❤
Riumph looks good now. An original front mudguard would finish it completely. Bike exhausts are always a pain to fit, well done
Monica is the one who'll be most happy with the video 😅❤ Ps: how cute is the cat in the background 🥺

Well done Freddie, so glad (and surprised ) the exhaust change went so perfectly well. Great videos. !!
£1700 quid for an exhaust!!😮 Stick with my old GS. £60 second hand...and it's stainless too. Good work Freddie's mechanical shop👍
Freddie please invest in a Torque wrench, and look up Torque values for bolts, it will save you a trip to a machine shop
When in the Navy, i was transferring from California to Virginia Beach, I took my 79 Bonne apart, carried the engine in the trunk (boot) of my car, the rest of the bike in 4 boxes and shipped it with my household effects. When arrived in Virginia and a day and half later I was riding it. I dont think you could do that with any other motorcycle. BTW, my tank was listed as 5 pairs of Gucci loafers on the bill of lading..lol..
Looks, sounds and probably feels much better. Well done.
Hi Freddie, i agree with the quieter original exhaust system on motorcyles.I had a 1983 cx 500 sport E honda that i rode for 30 years, the original system rusted through and i replaced it with a Cowley 2 into 1 system as i live in South Africa, my trips were to work and back weekdays 60kms in total, had to wear earplugs and the constant drone was annoying.I sold the bike eventually and bought a new VFR 800 honda Crossrunner v4 and what a lovely quite and powerful machine it is, my wife and i have traveled over 36000 kms in South Africa on this quite bike and what a joy it is.😊😊😊😊
Well done! Looks better and sounds great!
Good effort Freddie. Spannering skills only come with experience of doing these kinds of jobs on a bike. You learn through your mistakes it's often said. I would however, pay attention to factory torque settings for nuts and bolts, especially on crucial cnnections like from the header pipes into the exhaust port of the cyclinder head. Overtightening of those bolts can easily take you to a world of pain, where the cyclinder head would have to come off again with all the collaterol time and expence that would incur. The sort of torque wrench required for this type of job isn't a big investment. The factory torque settings are available online if you search for them. KZread is a great resource for researching these kinds of straightforward or routine tasks on any specific machine. Let the KZreadr make all the mistakes for you, so you can avoid them, Congratulations on getting the Bonnie back to stock. Enjoy the ride!
Cant wait to watch this it will be fking priceless :D :D
Well done mate I would have been nervous to 👍
Thick end of £2000 for exhausts and fittings that the materials would cost in the region of a couple of hundred pounds. Worlds gone mad. Obviously not just Triumph it’s everyone. Those exhausts came off because they had just been off. Suspect the mechanics doing your engine work didn’t have it so good 😊. Keep up the great work, I really enjoy your content 👍
the Bonneville looks and sounds much better than before. Good job!
Ten years ago I bought two leftover 2012 865cc Triumphs, Bonneville SE in September and a Thruxton in October. My Bonneville has a nice sound with TEC "Clubman" 2 into 2 stainless steel exhaust, THE best fitting exhaust system ever. The Thruxton has TOR (Triumph brand) exhaust and has the nicest traditional Brit-bike sound of any I've ever owned. I don't like 2 into 1 pipes, I also have TEC 2 into 2 pipes on my 2020 750 Interceptor (Weisco 83.5mm pistons/S&S cam).
Job well done, Freddie, the sound is awesome!

Sounds perfect freddie
Well done Freddie. Looks and sounds awesome! Happy riding! 😎😎😎👍
Well done Freddie - an inspiration to us all! So important to take time with these jobs and have all the requisite parts & consumable beforehand. I'm a big fan of standard exhausts. Manufacturers spend a fortune developing them and I believe thats something to take advantage of. I have a 23-year-old BMW R1100S with a standard exhaust - and whilst it doesn't sound as cool as the Remus or Lazer equivalents (that were actually supplied by BMW on some models) it's so easy to live with and works so well. My 2017 Indian Scout has cut-down exhausts that sound awesome from across the county, but you can't ride that for long without stress and it upsets the neighbours! Another great video 👍
Worth every penny guys. Looks great. Sounds great. Long live your Bonnie, and thanks for another somehow calming and relaxing video.
Hi Freddie. The Bonneville looks and sounds awesome now well worth it definitely.

Ooooh that sounds lovely. Love that watch Freddie. Ride safe.
Great Video nice to see the Bonny original again, lovely bike
looks good back to standard and generally will always run better too, glad you've found a new love for the bonny, it is definitely you and Monika. Looking for ward to a few more rides out.
I’m disappointed Freddy l was sure you’d of try to fit them upside down or back to front instead you did a pretty good job, love those yellow marigolds. As has been stated luckily the headers have been off recently so no worries of seized bolts. Also it’s been mentioned you could now refit a centre stand which could be your next project? Maybe pink marigolds for that one?

Yes. Be good to see the spring fitting !
Great video as always and such a great piece of cosmetic upgrading to the old Bonnie, she's almost purring her thanks through those new pipes.......
You MUST never sell the Bonnie. At this point it’s iconic and now it sounds and looks absolutely glorious!
Sounds well. I'd be painting the rusty downpipes in heat resistant matt black
Another piece of pop culture trivia. Did you know that around this time. The TV show Happy Days had the Fonz jump over a shark tank on his custom Triumph Bonnie? This in turn has become a turn of phrase for when TV shows just get too ridiculous or past their sell by date "That Show has Jumped The Shark"
Looks and sounds great. I love the symmetry of the two mufflers
I think the stock Bonneville exhaust note is one of the most pleasing OEM exhaust sounds produced today. I have no intention of ever replacing my stock exhaust with aftermarket even if it saves weight.
