ATR 72 600 - MSFS - Full Tutorial - Full Flight - Full Review - Flight Simulator - World Update 13

Ойындар

Probably one of the longest awaited additions to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is an airline turbo prop and we have been finally awarded with the ATR 42/72-600 with World Update XII. After a week of learning this wonderful aircraft we will fly with the beautiful Air Tahti livery from Moorea to Bora Bora.
We will look at both inside and outside tectures, how to go from cold and dark all the way through flight planning and flying the entire route with an RNAV approach into Bora Bora.
I am constantly learning these fantastic systems and how they are used in the sim vs real live. Does this match up?

Finished up the video, it is great thanks, I did get an overspeed on initial descent and structural damage in spite of going to minimal throttle. Oh well next time.

Well thank you Sprocket some of the things I was frustrated about were made clear, like why did she go in rev when I throttled down or why I felt she was taxing too fast when it really was not. What the pwr management was really for and some more items that may be dumb to you but frustrating for me. My start up needs some work but when I do get it to climb and fly it is a gem! I got the military liveries and plan to use it a lot more now. Thank you! 👍🇺🇸🙏🏼

Happy to help and thanks for the kind words. Not dumb to me at all. It is a unique system and the power management almost tricks you into thinking it is an auto throttle. It’s definitely one of my favorites! Cheers!

loving the video but finding your mouse clicks on programming the MCDU get ahead of me so fast that I have to keep going back on the video. A little repetition of button pushing might help, part of the problem is of course mouse pointer chasing around screen, then I am trying to check where you actually clicked on in the MCDU. Getting there slowly! All my real world flying was small older singles with no MCDU so enjoying the challenge.

My reversers don't work. I have a key on my joystick assigned to it but no amount of depressing of it has helped.

It is usually a toggle. So you hit you key assignment then use your throttle. Or depending on how you have your throttle axis you continue to reduce. If you’re on a joystick try setting the toggle and then advance your throttle to see if the moves it to reverse. If not you set a toggle for reverse and then decrease throttle which I think is “F2” on a keyboard.

When I set up an RNAV or VORDME approach in the FMC, the TOD marker doesn’t show and makes an Rnav approach pointless. For ils it works fine, but it just doesn’t work for RNAV or VORDME, can someone please help?

I’m not sure as this video is an RNAV and TOD is calculated fine. Make sure your flight plan doesn’t have any discontinuity and your constraints are showing up on the MCDU.

@@sprocketsimulations Thanks. Something I noticed is that when I put in the RNAV approach and look at the flight plan page, above the final waypoint it says ‘0.0’. For you, however, it shows ‘3.0’. I also didn’t select a transition like you did but I wouldn’t expect that to be the reason. But thanks for the fast response 😁

That might mean it is an RNAV without vertical guidance then. RNP, LPV, and LNAV+V will have a glide slope and constraints but if it is just an RNAV with only LNAV it will not have any vertical guidance. Same with VORDME. You will need to calculate you TOD manually. You might be able to enter in a constraint at a waypoint to help. Thanks for watching!

I HAVE JUST PURCHASED THE MS ATR and rather wish I hadn't. Having discovered (without any manual) how to start the engines, etc, I find the ATR runs backwards when the controls are eased. Then it leaps into the air and takes off itself. Realism? No. Another cheapskate piece of dodgy software.

Sounds like a control mapping issue as this has proved to be a very popular aircraft for a lot of people. You can see in this video that it flys very well and they have also since updated to address a few small bugs. I haven’t heard of the issues you described above though. It is a shame most aircraft don’t come with manuals though.
