Yes, for certain video cards. Asus states: "Supports Adaptive-Sync with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 series, GTX 16 series, RTX 20 series and newer graphics cards"

@@dragos8839 Yes, I've found that G-sync works just fine with my GTX1070. My monitor did come with a DisplayPort cable, though I here there may be regional/vendor differences in what is included.

@@upperartifact8840 Yeah I did end up buying it, I've had it for 6 months now and I enjoy it a lot, the 144hz compared to 60hz was a night and day difference, the monitor stand it comes with is also pretty nice, one problem I did have with it though was the display cable it comes with, it would sometimes lose connection for some reason not sure why, I ended up just using a standard hdmi and it works fine now, also the price isn't too bad I got mine for around 200$, and the built in blue light filters are very useful if you're ever using it at night, so i'd say it definitely met my expectations, highly recommend.

Love the monitor but the only thing that bothers me is reaching the volume settings which might take a bit to get to. Other than that it plays and looks amazing, been playing Elden Ring and I have zero complaints for the image quality. Great review!

100% worth the money!!! I own this since yesterday and must say I am very pleased. More pleased than with my 1440p UWQHD MSI optix. I think it will be IPS forever!! Man this looks so awesome!!! And never below 144hz in any game. My eyes like this!!!!

Thanks I am looking for new monitor might just go with this one. The old Asus IPS screens seemed to have really bad compression backlight leaks this one does not look anything like the older ones. EDIT - I did end up buying two of these, both were returned after a few months with horizontal line issues appearing on the screens. I won't buy ASUS ever again too many issues. I now use Samsung Odyssey G7 and no issues yet and had them for 4 months, so far they are a great screen.

Great job on explaining all the features and the comparison with your old monitor. Sure looks like it will provide a high quality experience when editing your videos. I got a new Samsung monitor last year (30" diagonal) and hooked it up to my MacBook Air and it is great for watching videos but also for working on Ancestry doing family genealogy because you can fit so many members of your family tree on the screen while working on your research. I am a big fan of these larger monitors. Thanks Phil.

5:00 as of 4/20 I turned on g sync and can personally vouch that it works. I tested it using the nvidia G-sync pendulum tool.

No, mine didn't have any removable plastic film over the screen.

pretty satisfying to watch the review in the searching stage before you buy the monitor ... and then watch it again on the monitor itself after you've finally bought it xD my initial impressions: Amazing monitor with vivid colors, buttery smooth frame rate and pretty bright backlight (feels a bit too bright at times especially if you're in a dark room and displaying a white background .. but that can be sorted out in the settings) the whole exterior body is made of plastic but feels premium"ish" ..... the hinge movement is great and feels so satisfying to play around with lol ... still not sure about its durabilty though the speakers are kinda rubbish and feel as if they're working underwater .... also they're not loud enough if you live in a noisy environment (both are to be expected from builtin 2W speakers) but at least they're there and they're usable! ..... you can get away with them if you don't care about sound quality at all ... definitely recommend external speakers for anyone else.

@@CASANOVA68365 Well, I've been using it for 4~5 months now and I'd say it's pretty durable so far. It works perfectly under normal conditions. I haven't had any accidents with it so far. I cleaned the screen with a slightly wet cloth for at least 5~8 times by now and had no problems with it. I adjusted the screen's height and angle many, many times by now and the hinge still feels solid as the day I bought it. Also tried changing its orientation once or twice, and although it's useless using it in portrait mode (unless you've got another main display with it) ... It still rotates fine. So far I think it's great if you don't mind the plastic exterior Definitely go for it if you're considering buying it. ( If there are no other 165hz options available in the same price range) Wish you good luck!

@@CASANOVA68365 It's pretty nice with games and media consumption Yes I play games on it ... Mainly single player games ... But I occasionally play multiplayer games (mainly csgo, gta online and pubg) on it. The experience is so nice on it, and it actually improved how well I perform in csgo in particular thanks to the high fps and the smooth(er) movement ( but it didn't matter all that much since I still sucked but not as much lol ) Also I watched lots of movies and sh*t ton of youtube on it and overall the experience is very enjoyable thanks to the spot-on colors and brightness. The only 3 let downs I had were: 1- The backlight bleed (or ips glow) on it ... tbh it's only noticable if you're in a pitch black room and REALLY focus on the screen in pitch black scenes .. but it's there nonetheless... And unfortunately you can't get around it since it's just a limitation of the technology. But it's really not a deal breaker in anyway. 2- the speakers are garbage ... I have no idea why they bothered putting them in .... Don't use them unless you absolutely have to. 3- as far as I know... The stand doesn't have a cable management hole in it which is slightly annoying. As for if I recommend it or not I'd say definitely go for it if you can't find any better option for the money in your region. I got it months ago since it was pretty much the best option available in local stores near me. But now they started selling 165hz monitors with almost the same/better spec & price .. so if I was still looking for a monitor, I'd give them a look first and see if I like any of them.

To get to the Shadow Boost setting, hit the menu button on the monitor twice to enter the expanded main menu. Then scroll down to Image, click the check button to access the next column in the menu, and scroll down to the second page (past "More"). Shadow Boost is the first option on the second page.

Sure. Because I mainly play Path of Exile on this machine, I selected the RTS/RPG GameVisual Mode. Brightness 75, Contrast 80, Saturation 75, Color Temp warm, Skin Tone natural. Adaptive-Sync on (with G-sync enabled in NVIDIA control panel) using the DisplayPort cable. These are the settings that work best for me, though depending on the map I might enable ShadowBoost temporarily.

Some claim that this panel has 8ms of input lag, so u can stick to TN panels if you want, or you may consider VG259QM if you want IPS panel. To me I did not notice it, probably my brain's lagging too much

I couldn't decide for weeks whenever to go with this one or with the AOC c24g1, for budget 144hz monitors, those two are the best choices i have locally. I ended up with this one, due to many people advising me IPS panels are better than VA panels. I'm having it for a month and i am very satisfied.

No, this monitor doesn't support simultaneous Free-sync and ELMB. For that you'd need to get the VG27AQ: geni.us/ExBb [Amazon Affiliate Product Link] But it also costs twice the price for that benefit, so it's really up to you whether or not it's worth it. Fawaz Alkaed not really, only had to tweak gamma a bit from Windows/Nvidia for my liking and the brightness from OSD. Apart from that it's a great monitor.

I didn't do too much adjustment, just a bit on the contrast/brightness. If you choose a specific GameVisual profile it may alter the colors from what you're used to (and some modes may not translate well for creative work where you need accurate print colors). FPS mode gives you the greatest flexibility for making adjustments. Also, ASUS has an ICC color profile you can download from their website and load into your color management settings.

go for ASUS or AOC as theyre both IPS panels, the 24g2 is hardly ever in stock though so ASUS is probably your best option.

Go for the AOC 24G2. It is as the best value for the money and although they all have the same Panda panel the AOC has a wider colour gamut than the others.

ASUS is known for having a bad QC and letting bad products out of the factory. If you have a stuck pixel, get something like a rubbergum and apply a circular massage to the pixel. Do it gently, it should give like to the pixel.

Ungrown T yessir. And since it’s 144hz I’ll be ready for that 120hz for the next gen ! I recommend it!

Great review..How much brightnes is good for gaming ? which value to set in monitor osd menu ?

this monitor looks like the 248 i have wish i seen this deff woulda grabbed it instead great vid btw

I can't switch the input display I get to the osd input selection and I can toggle between the HDMI 1 HDMI 2 and display port, however it won't let me select display port can someone help?

Does it have a protective film on it straight from the box btw? I have the same monitor and noticed something in the corner similar to a small bobble but I'm too scared to try and poke it and check if it's a corner of a film.

Question, my gaming laptop only has HDMI available. Are you telling me that adaptive sync feature would not work because I am not using Display Port cable? I have Radeon not Nvidia.
