I'm sure it will be. I'm planning on getting a 4070 ti super and one of these 4k oleds soon. After watching videos on the 4080 super, looks like it gets between 10-20 more fps depending on game. But I think the 4070 ti super is good enough for now.

One thing that absolutely needs to be done on Microsoft end for Oleds is supporting the sub-pixel layout for texts on both the QD and W Oled so there’s less text fringing, also I think for a new monitor the LG 27GR95QE is quite good as well

It depends on what graphics settings and what cpu you have in the system but if you want to play high or ultra graphics (assume you would since is a 4k monitor and you want the best graphics) then you wont be pushing 240 fps, found some estimates around 85 fps on ultra with a ryzen 7 7800x3d and 137 fps on high with the same cpu. in terms of playable on 4k then yes it is but should you buy this monitor, probably not as you wouldnt push enough frames to justify the price, instead get a new gpu like the 4080 super for the price of this monitor. Lemme know if you have any other quesrtions

@@DGneoseeker1 that only happens if your window is behind the monitor orbthe light source shines on your face somehow. But most of the time the people have the window in they back (like I do, and there is no way I can change the furniture), so most of the time I really cover the monitor with my body and head to not see the window from begind. Also for my scenario is better a glare type monitor. The mate monitor difusez the light on the entire monitor.

@@mostwanted2000 The window in my case is positioned technically behind and off to one side compared to where the monitor is. And also blocked by the stairs. But I still got horrible reflections off a glossy IPS monitor. No LIGHT reflections. Just FACE reflections. A single light bulb in the computer area up above was enough to cause this.

@@DGneoseeker1 okay, then for your case a mate monitor is better. Buy I don't like how they destroy the color output. If you compare on rtings webiste side by side a mate and a glossy, you will see in the text clarity section the "painted" pixels

@@mostwanted2000 In the videos I've seen comparing the LG WOLED with matte...ish screen vs the ASUS ROG QD-OLED with glossy screen I can't see any real difference in the image except the QD-OLED is pinkish while the WOLED is more blueish. But of course I'm viewing images on 4K monitors via whatever the default youtube resolution is, on a 1440p IPS monitor so I have no idea how much that's screwing up the comparison.

The LG design looks so much cleaner though.

My lg monitor arrives tomorrow. Ive had a lg cx 77 oled since 2020 and it still is amazing. They essentially innovated oled tech and they make the best most reliable oled panels.

@Davidsixx lg gs3295ue. So far, it's awesome. I ordered a pc for it so I can take full advantage of the high refresh rate. Kinda like the matte coating for a monitor but glossy for TV. It's still pretty bright but not overly, and it's a nice change of pace from the lg oled TVs

Unfortunately I don’t understand if this tv will allow me to get all the good fps the card will generate without teetering or image lags. It should be very similar to the lg oled monitors as previous tests I've seen of the LG C1, and G1 showed to be fantastically responsive for games. LG is really leading the market as far as gaming functions in the TV market as they have made it a priority.

The speakers in the LG is a Major plus for me as I constantly, throughout the day, use the downward firing speakers on my current LG 4K monitor. I would be very interested in knowing what the through screen speakers would be like. I don't have room for on desk speakers so the lack of speakers in the ROG monitor is a major bum, however, the including of Dolby Vision support in ROG and USB C is a big plus. I'm unsure whether LG's latest matte screen or the glossy screen would be best given I do have a window opposite my monitor though no direct sunlight comes in. I am aware that the glossy looks best at night and during the day the blacks look more grey whereas the Matte LG screen also looks great at night but doesn't have quite the depth or out of the box colour accuracy of the ROG but does look great during the day with proper blacks. I really don't know which to get though the LG is yet to be available in Australia 🤬😭😨 so I may end up having little choice but go with ROG.

The hanging camera reflected in the PC Centric neon sign irritates me way more than it should.

Check out Monitors Unboxed review of the LG 32GS95UE, it's quite disappointing compared to the QD-OLEDs. Doesn't even get brighter which was the only real benefit LGs WOLED was supposed to have.

The QD-OLED is marginally brighter in a light controlled room. The advantage you are pushing g is insignificant. The QD-OLEDs are inferior in non-light controlled rooms and they almost always add a reddish tint to every image compared to W-OLED. 480hz also allows people to get more out of their cards for longer periods of time as games become more demanding.

@@j.echevarria8630 480hz... at 1080p my guy. As I said, look at the monitor's unboxed review, the brightness really is surprisingly low on the LG monitor. Like 200 nits lower brightness for some 1 - 10% APL scenes. Edit: Actually 300 nits lower brightness in a low APL scene. -25:00 in MUB's LG 32GS95UE review. Not sure what you mean with the reddish tint. Setting up the monitor's color temp and display color space should fix any issues of the colors not looking right for you.

Been wanting these since the CES demo, but the availabiliy in the UK / EU is a joke, let alone the price difference comparead to the US retailers. Im sticking with my AW3423DWF for the time being.

Thanks for the wobble test and blackleg falling demonstration, I have a standing desk and the depth of it would require me to place Asus too close to the edge. Now I don't think that's a good idea, will get a monitor arm.

Whichever you buy, both will be good choices. I already have the AW3225QW, but I also want to try LG products.

@@rugeryeti460 I also wanted to buy ASUS products, but I couldn't get them. And the monitor I used before was the Dell AW3821DW, and I liked that product so much that I decided to go with the Dell product this time too.

@PcCentric After viewing a few side by side reviews on these two panels now, I've noticed that the QD panel appears to have very prominent reds, it looks like even the reflections turn red for some reason. When content shows on screen it's got a red bias, I initially thought it was due to the sub pixel layout having a lager red pixel but I'm starting to think it's the coating that also causes the raised blacks. I can't understand why it's not mentioned at all in reviews and how these screens are more colour accurate than the woled with such a significant red bias. Have you noticed this in person?

It is more red, but you could also say the LG is more green - until I've run calibration, can't say what's more accurate yet.

QD-OLED is capable of displaying brighter reds. It has quite a bit more color volume across the board actually. The magenta tint you see is actually a quirk of current QD-OLED monitors. Blacks tend to turn a gray magenta when exposed to light. It’s part of the reason why QD-OLEDs are often recommended for dim room environments. WOLEDs actually have better black retention when exposed to ambient light. That being said both perform significantly better in darker environments. Bright rooms diminish the impressiveness of OLED displays.

@@PcCentric Indeed we need calibrations test, but as a fast overlook on them, LG looks way more accurate on gamma than Asus, well, I think that is a downside of glossy coats for those kind of monitors.

I can't choose, I love the asus screen way more, but for me the 480hz 1080p mode on the LG is actually really good

QD OLED for gaming, personally I'd forget 4K gaming unless you've got very deep pockets. Last year's "gaming monitor of the year" (still gets the thumbs up from Monitors Unboxed in '24) QD OLED QHD 165Hz Alienware AW3423DWF is available at some very good discounts, that brings it within reach for quite a few folks, 2K (3440 × 1440p) Ultrawide, and you'll be able to afford a GPU to make use of that refresh rate. Stunning HDR games and movies have never looked so good. Like most OLED monitors comes with a 3 year burn in warranty. Not the best for regular computer use, but for those of us who only tolerate Windows as something to run your games on and watching movies, especially HDR content nothing else comes close to OLED regardless of resolution.

Eh. You can run DLSS performance on mid range GPUs and still get 60+ fps on most games. Don’t think 4K is all that inaccessible anymore. Besides, most people upgrade their GPUs before their monitors.

I like this out of the box review style. Also like how you stumbled upon a major issue with these qd oled monitors which reviewers seemed to have missed but redditors are clamoring about, and that is how the true black 400 mode seems brighter than the console hdr mode which is supposed to peak at 1000 nits (and does). This is a MAJOR issue imho and apparently affects all qd oled monitors. You can stick with hdr 400 and get a general brighter image (in modest apl scenes) but one that peaks at an anemic 400 nits or you can stick to console hdr and get 1000 nit highlights in very low apl scenes but a dim overall picture with higher apl scenes. You shouldn’t have to pick your poison like that and you don’t have to with qd oled TV’s (or mini led monitors which I think may be the better buy for hdr gaming at this size at the moment).

This has been the case since qd oleds came out dont know why people are shocked now. 1000 is def preferable as 400 over brightens most the image and lacks bright highlights. QD oled tvs as well foce you to use game mode which doesnt look as good imo.

1st KZreadr to say I’m not blown away. Well I agree I have an 27 lg gp950 4k monitor and blacks are better and hdr but colour didn’t pop as I was expecting and loss of sharpness from 27 to 32 was very noticeable

I had 27 lg gp950 4k and switched to the ASUS PG32UCDM and the text clarity is not as sharp as the 27 4k though it is very good on OLED 32 4k BUT the colors are much more vibrant and black is black not IPS grey so it was a HUGE upgrade when it comes to gaming and media

I suspect part of the reason why he’s not so impressed is because the monitors are being used in an extremely bright environment. OLEDs really don’t play nicely with a lot of ambient light. Larger displays also give the impression of being brighter, and the G3 *is* actually brighter than both of these.

Asus just released a firmware update to address the lack of brightness in the Console, Gaming and Cinema HDR. It does not fix the lack of full screen brightness though, just the highlight detail. More updates will be needed!

The firmware update didn’t really do anything for highlight detail. See the patch notes. It only fixed brightness of amd cards and the brightness reported to the windows hdr calibration tool which some games (like Jedi Survivor) use but none that let you set the max nit value within the game.

That’s the draw back of QD-OLED. It doesn’t have a polarizer, so any light that hits it straight on will raise the blacks. If you don’t have good light control in the room you should probably go with WOLED. If you do though, they are great.

For the LG, is it possible to use 4K while simultaneously using 24" aspect ratio mode? How about on Xbox Series X?

watching on my 4k PG27UQ HDR monitor and it looks fantastic though i know these great monitors won't be as bright as mine, darks will be clearer and apt.

You see the white screen dimming as a negative but for me it makes sense as support bright white screens justhurt my eyes, especially at night in a dark room.

So I know you have reviewed the PG27UQ and the PG32UQX. You said the G3 tv was the best HDR you’ve ever experienced. Is that true? I ask because I’m thinking about going for the G4 for my desk (55”).

The G3 is incredible as it gets to about probably 1300-1600 nits, yet still has OLED contrast on a semi gloss panel. With no blooming

Even in light controlled rooms, QD-OLED has a reddish hue to all of the images. Apparently it’s more color accurate but I just don’t see it when it’s next to the LG. Perhaps maybe more color detail is what they mean but still the reddish hue looks bad next to the W-OLED.

Can you do a review on the Alienware 4k oled ?

I opted for the Alienware because of the subtle curve love it best monitor I've ever owned hands down. Any one of these monitors will suit you well and do the job. Next level for sure

I have a 4080 Super. I want one of the Alienware OLEDS. The freesync one is like $200 cheaper. Do I still want the GSync one?

I think i'll wait for a ROG W-OLED or see if MSI do one later, both of these have equal flaws for me. I'd love a QD-OLED with a slighlty matte/less glossy screen as my bedroom is east facing, so even with closed shutters I can see light piercing through the gaps which would be highly visible with a glossy screen :(

Hi Marcus, i take the Asus, cause i love glossy displays, and on the german market you do not see Monitors with a glossy display..actually i have a LG 27 gr93u -b ,with a 4 k Display it looks verry nice and colorfull, but i dont like the coating on any screens, you can buy here. We obsess over 4k resolution and Ray tracing but IMO, HDR is underrated. Good HDR on an OLED is glorious and makes ever single frame of a game look gorjuss!

@@PcCentric in HDR mode it was way to yellow / orange in terms of colour temp and it locks you out of changing the colour temperature while in HDR mode. It locks up all settings. The LG doesn’t do this. It allows changes.

I feel that too. I have the MSI MPG 321URX which is same panel as ASUS, the HDR colors look too yellow/orange to me. Plus you can't unsee the rised black on the QD-OLED once you noticed it, even in low light. I'm thinking of returning it and buy the LG.

so after this, i knew it was going to not blow me away since its the first of its kind. i think in the future we would need more like 600 true blacks 340 Hz but actually i find 32 inch almost a waste of space. 27 inches is still a lot as ur only 3 feet away from the screen anyway. I think if they went with only 27 inches these displays would look better

LG for me, because it’s got built in speakers for work use and has a more normal design, and the matte screen again for work use.

I m so torn between the Asus and the new Gigabyte Aorus. I have built a 4090 ROG strix +7800x3d build which must last for the next 7 years like my good old trusty 1080ti did and now i want to pair it with a monitor for the next years!

Did u turn on HDR in windows and run HDR calibration.

Glossy finish is better than matte coating, therefore the colors will always be more vibrant and punchy .

What's the point of those beats where screen is blurred and focus is on you and then it jumps back and forward with two angles with different focuses - it really makes hard to watch it without head starting to spin.

everyone is gettin hyped and happy while here i am DREAMING of a 25" 1440p 240hz W-OLED with 380 nits of brightness. Id gladly pay 2.500 euros in a split second for these specs.

No need to dream, dude, the lg 27gs95qe-b is basically a 26.5" 1440p 240hz W-OLED with MUCH higher brightness than it's predecessor. Still a few weeks I think before they're available.

For cyberpunk lg or msi?

Recently got a 43" LG C3 OLED to use primarily as a gaming monitor but also for movie/TV consumption. I would've loved one of these for the gaming benefits and the slightly smaller size, but I couldn't get around the lack of home theater features like no Dolby Vision, etc. I'm just as much a home AV enthusiast as I am PC enthusiast so the C3 was a nice meet in the middle for me. And it was only $800, compared to $1200.

Same, just got myself a 42 C3 for my gaming setup. I already have a C2 55, those oleds are really great. The only thing that i'm kinda feeliing like missing on is a higher refresh rate, but those monitors are so expensive compared to the tvs.

Australia here 😊 the Asus cost $2800 here and it not out yet.

That uniform brightness setting probably just lowers the peak brightness to around 250 nits for all window sizes or whatever the full field brightness would be. I hope you turned it off for gaming because if so, your highlights would have only reached 250 nits.

I'm surprised there's no mention of the raised blacks on the QD OLED. Check out 7:22. The left panel has a purple greyish tinge even when off

So lame that LG also uses a fan like Alienware. I have very sensitive hearing and that small fan spinning at high rpm would bother me.

This is what i thought, but its way quieter than the one in the Alineware QD OLED ultrawide - i wouldnt worry (coming from a silence freak)

I never knew the Alienware 32 4K QD it’s literally not audible

so ironically you would want the glossy display so it has more punch slightly more 'bling for your buck'

On the LG GS95UE, turn put digital vibrance from 50 to 60-65%.. This make the LG the better pick compared to the ASUS one.

I agree. Asus QD OLED looks better to my eyes. Clearly better.

One thing that bothers me is the magenta tint on the qd oled panels... The LG might look better due to this...

If you play in a lit room or have sunshine directed at the monitor you should definitely pick WOLED instead.

It's better to have a fan inside the monitor! That helps the monitor to not get burn in

Hate the stand on the Asus, the alienware equivalent in europe is so much cheaper, the Gigabyte ones are available in Europe at the same time include speakers if your interested, so a lot to choose from with these panels

LGs new series of TVs are coming out this month so just get yourself a C3 on discount and save yourself a 1000 bucks at least. Not sure why he didn't mention panel difference and better contrast \ blacks lvl's on LG monitor.... those greyish blacks can be seen from far.

Asus, or better say QD-OLED just gets worst for me when it comes to color temperature, it's like all goes reddish and that sux... I own an Alienware AW3423DW, that have same panel (kinda) and as much I love glossy coat, I hate that reddish in gaming... as for screen dimming, I noticed that even in games and trust me you gone hate it... in the end I will go with LG this time! I know, none of monitors are perfect, but still...
