  • @slapmynutz
    @slapmynutz Жыл бұрын

    He was not pushing as hard as he could and was very hesitant into all breaking zones. He also took interesting lines into most corners (e.g Turn 4: he took a very tight line, Ideally it’s better to be more aggressive with throttle mid-corner to force some understeer so the car can push itself out so you can take a wider line), not using enough entry curb to open up the corner. Not balancing the car well enough, especially into T9, 10 double left hander. Not keeping the platform of the car flat due to the harsh steering and throttle inputs, and therefore loosing a lot of performance from the underfloor. As a car that produces the majority of its downforce from its underfloor, and not keeping it flat will likely cause huge losses in aero performance. All of that said I don't imgaine this is an easy car to drive and nor do I think it is a confidence inspiring car (Particularly under breaks due to the massive amount of antidive in the suspension making it difficult to ‘feel’ the brakes), especially around a track like Bahrain were there are alot of difficult corners like the downhill and off-camber T9, T10 double left hander and tricky conditions like dust and sand making the surface very slippery along with the bumpy nature of the track. it’s difficult to predict, but there is time to be made depending on tyre wear, trye preparation, and conditions . He is fully capable of setting a faster time, I think he just needs more track running time with the car.

    The car is not being pushed at all. The irony is that fast cars such as this are so expensive that people are afraid to thrash them, and cheaper cars can be just as fast as those when thrashed (maybe), and are probably way more rewarding than this. Awesome technological achievement? Definitely. Makes sense? Probably not.

    When Mercedes released the lap times of the AMG One, it became the first production car to literally be faster than a GT3 car. This Valkyrie lap was not done by factory driver, and conditions (multiple tries and tires). But it was in the same ball park of a GT3 pole position. So given a factory effort, we could see the lap go 3 seconds faster, but it's not anywhere as fast as I expected from this much lighter, much more hardcore track car.

It's really traction limited on these tyres. The car is using active dynamics and traction control to bleed downforce out of the car so the tyres don't explode from under it. I feel like the only way you get more performance is with better tyres and a different set up adjustment on the TC, aero and suspension mapping. The biggest limiter is the tyres. AM should have gone for something bespoke like Mercedes did with the AMG One but it seems like Michelin is already really close to the limits of what they can provide and Aston was already running out of money.

If u were to push these engines like swapping it to an f1 car it's not going to perform as well and it's going to give alot of problems because the forces the engine will need to withstand... It's still like u said a masterpiece but comparing it to an f1 engine, gt3, gte, lmpx etc isn't going to work because they are race cars being compared to a road car... Btw f1 teams has millions spent on R&D and the best of the best engineers and mechanics on standby... I'm not an engineer or mechanic but i think what i said is accurate... Shouldn't be surprising. The development budget (and by virtue tech) going into an F1 car is several times that of the Valkyrie and the Valkyrie has to be set up to be driven by normal people. Remember, the AMR Pro is basically a derestricted LMH prototype but yet because of the for dummies set up, according to the test pilots, it still ends up being slower than an LMH prototype after BOP.
