It looks okay for a luxury sedan type car, but the Porsche style doesn't fit that body type very well, Jaguar does much better in that department.

I really like the design of the Panamera. I just don't like the idea behind the car, its pretty much useless in my eyes.

I thought I´m the only one who hates new Silverstone, but it feels like about everyone outside the UK hates it.

It seems at least one person inside the U.K hates it as well xD! I find it to be far too flat; it's as if you're racing on a track from Super Mario Kart on the Super Nintendo (not that I have anything against that game, it's just hardware limitations kept its courses completely flat). I love tracks with elevation changes, and Modern Silverstone has practically none.

Out of all those I personally like the '74 RS the best but I appreciate you pointing me at the Corvette in your comments in the vid. I usually can't stand the stock street cars and avoid them like the plague. I gave the Corvette a try after hearing you talk about it compared to the likes of the 911 street cars. I was impressed, although it feels a bit too sticky in the rear end. I gave it a couple laps at the Ring and unfortunately cut a corner in the last half mile so I did not get a time, but it is actually a lot of fun to drive. Thumbs up.

Your not the Only one who Loves the Cayman GT4 Around VIR, ALMS Winner from this summer Danny Burkett had a Go in my Motion Rig and was Blown away at the Accuracy of VIR and the Job Kunos did on the Car. Oh and PS, danny confirmed there's VERY little FFB coming through the wheel, in Rain he said you are 100% Guessing what the front tires are doing...eek 20nmMige motor is what he tested on.

@Empty Box The Carrera S and the 718 Cayman S have been revised since the 1.10 update, have you tested them with this update? I only say this because they are much better now as far as "feeling" goes.

Toshiya Tanabe I now, after buying automoblista last weekend, have all the sims either on console or PC (bar iracing but that's not my thing). And as the saying goes "money don't grow on trees" Maybe, one day, if there's a big sale on Steam.

The RSR is such a blast to drive, just need to get actually competitive times with it to race it, heh. Had some fun times yesterday driving the 2015 919 Hybrid. I would love to know your thoughts on that one vs the Enduracers and URD versions.

Love the Moby Dick and, to be honest... Now I understand where Ferrari got their inspiration from, when they thought about building the F40! hahahaha. And the sounds in AC nowadays... Wow, has to be the best out there.

Some cars just basically stop when it goes sideways, like the Mercedes AMG, whereas some like the BMWs and Porsche are quite drift happy. Wonder if its the suspension geometry or the tyres that create such drastically different behaviour?

They should've included the Skoda 130R, just for laughs.

Any tips for setting up the FFB in Assetto Corsa? I play Automobilista a lot and it feels incredible, I want assetto corsa to feel close to that. I know a g27 is capable of feeling much better than anything I've achieved with the settings in Assetto Corsa. Steering in Automobilista is so responsive and direct, whereas AC feels very "spongy" in response to my steering inputs. There must be something I can do about this?

I guess you might be feeling the effect of force feedback clipping which is when the game default ffb force is too high so details go missing. Ingame enable the pedals UI thing, the grey bar on the right of that shows live what force is being applied to the FFB motor, turn the overall force in the game control settings menu down (or up) until that grey bar reaches the top only when under hard cornering, if the bar is full even when going straight or under light cornering then the force feedback won't be able to add any more detail beyond that point which usually makes it feel dull.

***** oh well... good luck fixing it because thats about all I know xD maybe changing minimum force to 5 or 10% will help.

My thoughts on this pack are pretty much the same, few cars are wonderful and the rest (ahem street cars ahem) feel like such meh quality filler... and I'm usually the one defending street cars. Thankfully PP2 is much better than PP1 in that regard. Also agree with the Vette remark, chasing down pesky 911s at donnington was so satisfying. And the Vette sounds much better. :P

Posted this on the previous iRacing video by mistake - meant to leave a question here: Thinking of getting into PC sim racing after spending some time in Project Cars and Assetto Corsa on the PS4. Any thoughts on one of those Alienware laptops with the 1060 or 1070 graphic cards? I dig the small footprint, and it would also be cool to be able to use VR. Is that asking too much of a laptop?

i would advise against alienware or laptops for gaming in general. Alienware is a bit overpriced, and a desktop pc just get alot more performance per dollar/euro spend then a lappy.

Woo no Panamera hate I actually like it

Finally bought Assetto Corsa. Paid around R$ 32 yesterday, which is around 10 dollars. I mean, 10 bucks for a great sim it's basically for free. Everyday that goes by I realize how freaking expensive iRacing is lol

We need a Can-Am dlc. The 917/30 is not enough.

Fuck it, just give us some HISTORIC CONTENT DAMMIT. So tired of every sim and every *mod* being modern day gt/touring cars, or every single goddamn F1 season in existence as if the 82 season is that different from the 81 or 83. There are entire historic DISCIPLINES that have almost no mods whatsoever nor are official content. Especially American ones. Where's IMSA? Trans-Am? Where's the 70's and 80's gt cars with hilariously ginormous boxy body kits (seriously those are are amazing) slapped onto the chassis? I'm tired of GT cars with auto-blipping and traction control which a braindead baby could drive. I want gt cars that still took some throttle control, goddamn I want gt cars that can actually spin when you give them throttle. Every once in a while we get stuff like DRM Revival or the Group 5 content of Raceroom or that dope Celica GTO mod for RF2 but it's not enough. Also where is my Short Course Trophy Truck sim god dammit. /rant over

I was scanning the steam page for this DLC and then this notification pops up. Is it a sign?

Did you turn down the tires sound ? That sounds so much natural than mine ...

I hated the Porsche "Super Beetle" for some 42 years of my life. Loved Ferrari. Loved Corvette. Loved Arseton Martin. Porsches were tacky. Looks like a hyped up Beetle. Engine is in the wrong place. Poor man's Ferrari. Made for show-offs that don't know how to drive. Then I took a chance on driving the Ruf C Spec at Suzuki in iRacing a year and a half ago. It took a few laps but I then in a magic moment I put on the power just as the rear had enough grip, coming out of the apex in turn 1. I had a smile a mile wide. I understood and never looked back.

Mechanically there's no problem, but it's just as hard as with rFactor public servers to find a good race. All I've found is trackday servers and servers with actual racing where half the field wrecks in the first corner.

Peps Persson Yes, one has to have abit of know-how and patience to find good races in AC multiplayer. But, yes, you can find them... And when you do, it's very much rewarding.

I didn't hear you say you increased rear rebound on the RSR. Please try that to tame that rear end.

Both. Suspension geometry also plays a huge factor, but basically - Oversteer on the brakes. Think of a pendulum turned sideways, with the heavy bit at the back. Any time the light bit at the other end - the front tires - moves, the heavy end will have to react. Once it does react, it's going to want to keep going until it runs out of momentum.The rear end swings around and it basically tries to pass the front of the car because it has more momentum if left unchecked - oversteer. The tail is wagging the dog. Now front engine cars may oversteer on braking or turn in, but most of that is due to too much weight transfer to the front. For a rear engine layout that also means the rear axle can be more effective at stopping the car because it retains more loading - not shocking that 911s have always been really good on the brakes. Understeer on the power - that is, until you go full on wheelspin mode. (then you'll get oversteer of course) With so much weight on the rear axle naturally, and then weight shift there is a looooot of loading - grip - at the rear, while the already lesser loaded front wheels have the load transferred away from them. This is why rally 911s aren't that uncommon or unbelievable, because they have the capability for fantastic amounts of traction because it is so "backwards". On paper it "shouldn't work", but in execution it works brilliantly because they can get the things to stop remarkably well and they come out of corners like a crazed lunatic escaping the asylum.

Can i have the exact setup for the old 911? I feally want to drive it like a real life one where you need oversteer to maximize their potential :p

Front ARB a click or two to soft (think it's actually full soft at that point) Rear ARB a click stiffer Front Ride Height at 20 Differential Coast - full left, Differential Power full right. 80L of fuel

I don't know if you know, but the Cayman GT4 Clubsport is not the Porsche that drives in the GT4 European series. This is just Porsches Cayman racer, which drives in the VLN series. This is NOT the "real" GT4 car.

Actually it is a GT4 car, I've seen it in the GT4 European Series, it's just not too competitive compared to the other GT4 cars.

It isn't. The car we've got has nothing to do with the GT4 European Series. That's a different car. The car we've got is the factory Porsche racer, called the GT4 Clubsport. The car which drives in the GT4 European Series has undergone a homologation treatment, which changed all kinds of stuff. That car, is called the GT4 Clubsport MR. But the Cayman we've got, is NOT GT4 European Series Homologized, which makes it pretty useless comparing it with the Maserati MC Stradale GT4. I even got comments from Aris himself that this Porsche is not aimed/balanced to challenge the Maserati because it's a different car.

Most of it is VIR (Virginia International Raceway), a challenging yet very rewarding track. However, if you are taking about the last bit with the classic 911, it was done at a historic version of Silverstone, before they douched it all up.

So if the EA - Porsche contract is over does that mean iRacing - Porsche? Anyone?

Fyi the gt4 clubsport isnt a 'gt4' spec car, like the mas gt4 for example.. Its more like a cup car.. But not as powerful hence clubsport.

fregattenkapitan if you actually do some reading you will find the gt4 is not gt4 homoligated, but with an upgrade pack it can be eligible to enter under gt4... As standard it is not a homologated gt4 racing car... We have the former version in ac.

Actually Porsche reached out to kunos, they made some sort of deal for there own simulator which uses the AC physics model. Kunos had to make so many cars for porsche.

I dont think you know how to utilise a rear engine balanced car. In good hands it will out handle many cars.

I personally don't care for any street cars in a game like this. Sure if it was like Gran Turismo or something you can do tons of mods in. A couple of street cars is ok but at the end of the day nobody really consistently uses them. Most of us bought this game and use it in our sim to drive race cars and compete against other race cars.

Bro u can't compare the clubsport to the 718.. two different generations. The 718 is a shitty 4cyl car and the clubsport is based on the 981 which has a proper porsche 6cyl
