ASMR - The Madonna in early and late da Vinci Paintings (Pointing, Brushing, Soft Spoken)

Ойын-сауық

#asmrsoftspoken #asmr
Hey there! Today I'd like to invite you to dive into the work of maybe the most famous Renaissance artist: Leonardo da Vinci. Specifically I've picked two paintings of the Madonna, one from early in his career and one of his later works. I'll point to and trace some of the beautiful details, gently brush the page and give you some soft spoken explanations on the meaning of what we see. I hope you enjoy it!

So relaxing. Now one of my favorites. The soft sounds of your brush on the page literally made me tingle. The reading regarding desire and longing was spot on. To own nd posess one's desire and longing, is many times more rewarding than the actual unobtainable object itself. It can last forever.

Beautiful as always. Leonardo Da Vinci did not like to paint. He saw it as a necessary evil to support himself. He worked on them for years and years and was never happy with them. He also liked to experiment with his paint formulas and many of them did not age well or did not survive at all and cannot be conserved. He saw himself as an inventor foremost. But the talent is just staggering. Everything he did was deep and complex. Would love to see more of this book! 🤍

The book is stunning - there are some drawings of his innovations in there which are fascinating. It's a good point, I'll see if I can get back to it some time soon :)

Enjoyed your video very much. I've been looking for a book about this painting, but there doesn't seem to be one. I have the same book by Zollner that you are using here, but even he only devotes one page to the painting. I found your commentary completely enjoyable because you clearly are fascinated by the painting and have studied it very closely. It would be wonderful to see this painting in person. I've only seen a couple of Da Vinci's in person, but in each case they are amazing. His attention to detail and ability to draw you into his imaginative world are uncanny. While clearly not realistic in the sense of photo realism, he nonetheless creates figures and places that have a reality of their own that are totally believable.

Thank you, that makes me very happy! And you remind me that I've been wanting to make a video about Munch for a while - autumn would actually be the perfect time for that. And in case you haven't seen it yet, I've looked at some more old masters in the Advent Calendar playlist last year :)

He would have painted the women in the fashions of Italian women at the time. Hair styles and clothes. Not the fashion of women of the holy land of the first century. So it’s a fantastic document for that at least.
