Shakti Samanta Presents Mercedes to Sachinda
(One of the anecdotes)
After the phenomenal success of Aradhana', mainly due to its music, one day Shakti ji landed at 'The Jet' bungalow where Dada lived. He drove in a brand-new Mercedes 125, while his driver was driving his car. He went up to meet Dada, leaving after few minutes in his car with his driver at the wheel.
It was later known that Sachinda had declined to accept the Mercedes, saying that he was very happy with his two cars (Fiat 1961 and 1968 models), adding that he had no use for a third car. Samanta left the keys of new car, insisting that Dada use the new Mercedes, and if Dada doesn't like it, he will take it back.
Dada did not even sit in the Mercedes, which was lying unused in the garage, regularly cleaned by Dada's driver Babu (nickname). After few days, Samanta sent a driver to collect the Mercedes.

Both father and Son were genius in their own way but both were very simple and lovable persons. Mother Mira Dev Burman was a distinguished lyricist. Great contribution to Music by these great masters . Almost 40 yrs passed since their death. Still people remembers them with so much awe. Incredible.

मोती sir jee ये video भि बहुत बहुत अच्छा लगा । बर्मन दादा के बारे मे असलम जी ने जो किस्सा सुनाया जैसे कि पान,सिगरेट,मर्सडीज etc. 8:30 मिनेट कब खत्म हुवा पता हि नही चला 👍️💝 लिखा है तेरी आखो मे किसका अफसाना अगर इसे समझ सको मुझे भी समझाना 👌

@aswes thakuri ji, Majrooh Sultanpuri ne kaha hai ki Dada ek khud-daar insaan thay, aur yeh Dada ne karke dikhaya, aur Mercedes nahin li. Comments ke liye shukriya.

Birth place of S.D. Burman is Agartala, Tripura, near my residence. He belongs to Royal family of Tripura.

for everybody's kind information I would like to clarify that SD Barman is not Bengali he is Debbarma(present) belong to one of the indigenous tribes of the Tripuri Community this is common that people always take SD Burman as Bengali so as to RD Burman just because northeastern states share international border with Bangladesh and inside with west Bengal so this is obvious that most of the people speaks and follow the Bengali language as those days medium of educations was in Bengali even till date in Tripura and West Bengal
