There definitely are people who love their businesses. Definitely not all of them though by a long-shot. I think it depends on your industry too. Can't imagine people who love water treatment or the refinement of chemicals so much they want to keep doing it after they have an exit or retire. I can imagine people who own businesses that design and make surfboards or mountain bikes or go-carts still wanting to be involved forever though. You wouldn't want to sell that business and let go of it completely

I used to think everybody went broke during the Great Depression and other major crashes but they didn’t… Some made millions, I also thought everybody went out of business during these times but they didn’t, some went into business, there's always depression/recession for some people and there's always a good time for others, it's all about perspective.

The issue is people always have the “I’ll have to do it myself mentality” Unapologetically, that’s why the get heavily affected during a crash and coupled with the fact we’ve had the longest bullrun ever in the American history, most folks aren’t equipped to manaqe this crash and it’s impending opportunltles well enough, so it only makes sense to seek proper guidance during these times, that’s what lnvestment-advlsers are for, been using one ever since the pandemc 2020 and I’ve been barely affected by crash, I have $850k in profit sitting in my portfolio and I’m unbothered about the market outcomes.

Went to an expo once with a Brazilian multi-millionaire. Walked past a fruit juice stand that had a monopoly at the show. He saw the stand and was in total awe. They were juicing oranges automatically. A huge line. I thought nothing of it. The Brazilian pulled me back and asked me to count the drinks they sold in the next minute. About 15 drinks at $4 a drink. He asked what turnover would that be per day? At that moment realized how the mind of a true entrepreneur works.

The Kinkos guy has some amazing quotes in this... I like him. I like his honesty, seems like a bit of a hardass, but understands what relationships are important.

I really see Paul as an older version of myself 😂 when I was a kid, instead of spending my money on the ice cream truck when my other friends didn’t have money, I used it to buy materials for a lemonade stand and put my friends to work, I took $5 and turned it into $40 and we all had treats when I ice cream truck came. When I had no money, I got my friends to gather buckets, soap, window cleaner, and old rags for free and you know what we did? Washed cars in our neighborhood. People gladly paid a bunch of neighborhood kids to clean their car instead of causing trouble. I became disillusioned with online hustle culture for a while but the tried and true method is to bring value to the marketplace not over saturate it in hopes of personal gain. Sure there is the what’s in it for me, but what value are you bringing to someone’s day? Is their car clean? How about their thirst? What about their heart strings? Have you pulled them by kids showing true American ingenuity by using their time to improve their community instead of destroy it? (Especially poor black kids like how I grew up)

I'm extremely privileged to have had the chance to be in Paul Orfalea's class at USC (University of Southern California, not Santa Cruz haha). That once a week class held at the university's best restaurant (we'd get dinner served while he taught us simple life/business lessons) on campus was the definition of what college should be about: practical scenario based exercises, stories of mistakes Paul made running Kinkos, and incredible Q&A sessions with guests/Paul's friends who were all entrepreneurs or high up members of society (a former California Supreme Court Justice taught us many great lessons). I'm incredibly grateful to Paul for everything he taught us.

I was lucly to figure this out in my mid 20's. i didnt know anybody from school any more, everybody gad carried pn eoth their own lives and i found myself in a job nobody wanted me in. It took alkng time of talking to those guys, learning from them and getting to knpw them for them to take a sine and interest in me. They essential helped me grow into a man. I grew out of that job as it no lonfer served me as it would not financialy sustain my future goals and I got a higher paid one. i no longer know or talk to any of those people. Im now in the best job I have ever had mostly due to the comradery. But im not silly. When i leave this job I will probably never hear from these people again. The only constant is my wife and family. Life is a train. And everyone is getting off and on at different stops until you reach the end of the line. Its sad. But just feel happy for people when they find the stop they are looking for.

I appreciate that Mr. Kinko regrets his lack of gratitude for his employees. I hope he has taken that wisdom and spread it to his other wealthy clique members. But I have worked in hospitals all my life and know those people in the executive suites making the big bucks don't give two shits about employees, much more, the patients.

As a woman, I think other women need to hear this. Family is important. Relationships are important. I feel like too many women prioritize careers over family these days and it just leads to misery. Because your company won't be there for you when it's over. But your kids and husband will if you prioritize having good relationships. Same goes for the guys. Don't let "success" ruin your life and the lives of your family. Money can help, but it can also destroy.

Most of those people are in debt up to their eyeballs. Some are about done blowing their inherited wealth. Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see. Live within your means, marry someone sensible, don't have kids you can't afford. If you don't have any expensive vices, it's almost impossible to NOT become a millionaire almost without even trying.

The "pursuit your dreams" quote is just overrated. Follow where you are most valuable on according to your skills not passion

Quality content...really enjoyed getting their perspective.

One takeaway on this video that I got from watching it. Sacrifice now and have fun later. The common theme is, these folks have sacrificed first before enjoying life. Others want to enjoy life first. That is why they do not achieve the pinnacle of success.

but What if you don't make it to the later part? All that sacrifice now fun later now for what? we don't know when our day is up. Enjoy life and have fun to an extent atleast thats what I think.

@@noahkagan definitely! I can relate to them even if I am not a billionaire. I enjoy my life now retired early. Have worked 15 years in a row non stop with investments on the side and full time work. I still do work but for enjoyment purposes only.

@@MoparSrt702 I have faith in God that if I glorify him He will bless me. I was worth $100 and broke when I came to the US. No one knows when a person will die. But true happiness can be found in both being productive, with some fun along the way. Most importantly, glorify God and he will bless you even more.
