I was homeless in LA too but real homeless. Not starting a business homeless. Simply circumstances, not really the result of anything bad. I got out by simply not accepting it anymore. Now 20 years later im a firefighter, dad, homeowner, ect and I still remember almost no one helping me. The cold looks, the disgusted faces, and the sheer coldness of the general population. I never once begged for food or money. I did steal food but it was necessity to survive. The sheer amount of homeless teenagers in LA is staggering and I still can’t believe I was one of them. Moral: be nice to those less fortunate.

i made a notes from this interview for anyone that might need it: -no matter what the rejection, keep you eye on the target. -make a product that people willing to re-buy, not just buy. -make a product that had improvement from the existing product. -fewer moving parts is better. -rich = happy + healthy. -success = how well you do what you do when people don't looking. -passion to work or like to work. -you can't change the yesterday newspaper. -"today is the first day of the rest of your life" -make friends with kindness

I think his best message is to forgive and forget the past. How far could we all be if we didn't give up or shy away from things because of what we remember about yesterday. He seems like a genuinely kind person and very likable. He is very much right that money won't make you happy. I believe it unlocks the door to a better quality of life but you still have to push that door open and be responsible for what you take with you to the other side. Will it be stress, anxiety, anger etc or will it be a smile and appreciation for what you have and what is to come....

Given the prevailing market conditions and the potential risks associated with the current economy, I would recommend refraining from investing in stocks for now. you should have way more subscribers, you make really great content man. hard working dude, and you ask great questions, but most importantly, you let the interviewee speak. the best bits of an interview come when you just let the person speak. and there's also nothing worse then watching someone get interrupted constantly, so i really appreciate the way you interview your guests. Keep at it!!

too many people are obsessed with the easy way out, addicted to social media or have some fake outrage where they would see someone like dejoria and say he's another "evil billionaire". the interview is fantastic and dejoria is always a joy to see, but part of me is glad that this is a hidden gem. the one's who are ready, will seek it out just like all of us did and the one's who are obsessed with non sense are happy in their misery.

I was a new hairdresser in the late 70's and 80's and I didn't even know who John DeJoria was until Paul Mitchell died. It seemed John DeJoria took over. Suddenly the name John Paul DeJoria was a new name in the company that I never heard before. Before Paul Mitchell died, he came out with Awapui Shampoo. It was such a hit and made him famous. I went to many Paul Mitchell shows and classes. I sold a lot of that product ! That was a great era and It was a fun time in the industry. Great interview.

My number one money rule is "diversification" and funny enough, I learnt this late, almost too late. You must never put all your eggs in one basket. As one who has been into Real Estates for as long as I can remember, I made my first million earlier this year from stocks alone (used the services of an expert though). I also experiment with a couple of other things. Imagine what the situation would had been given the present housing market if I were solely banking on it. Goodluck to us all!
