Ask Professor Dave #1: What's My Ethnicity?
Alright guys, you've been asking a lot of questions by email and in the comments section, and not all of them are about science. So I decided to start a playlist where I can respond to these queries, however bizarre they may be! The obvious choice for the first installment in this series was to address the wide variety of speculation surrounding my appearance and ethnic background. What am I? Indian? Arab? Armenian? You'll have to watch this clip to find out!

Italian,Arab? I thought he was king of the jews? INRI? I think this guy definitely got jewish blood . His name is David, he's highly intelligent and looks like one tbh.
@iliakorvigo7341
5 жыл бұрын
@@benas664 There is nothing particularly Jewish in his name: David is a common name in most western and many eastern Christian countries. He looks like an average Mediterranean man. I'd argue that his intelligence has more to do with upbringing (having parents with MSc/PhD degrees does help in that regard) and education than any "blood".

His name is Titus Flavius. He left the Temple with not one stone standing upon another. This was in 70 AD. There are no mysteries, only ignoring information. Look up Josephus Bar Mathis' WARS OF THE JEWS. The New Testament follows these writings using TYPOLOGY. Retell an old story using new characters and locations. Josephus Bar Mathis's name was changed to Flavius Josephus by the Flavians. Real History....don't be afraid....check it out.

I'd like to ask two questions: 1. What is your favorite subatomic particle (either from the SM, one of their supersymmetric companions, or a larger one (e.g., a neutron))? I am hoping the neutrino or the gravitino, as their names are Italian-esque. :-) 2. Did you enjoy any sports during your school years, or are there any sports you currently enjoy?
@ProfessorDaveExplains
7 жыл бұрын
haha i guess neutrino does sound kind of italian! i don't think i would do a whole video on these so i can just answer them here. my favorite particle... strange quark? quark sounds cool and i'm a little strange. or the higgs boson. when i was a kid i swam competitively from age 7 all the way through four years of college, but to be honest i kind of hated it :-/ i never really liked sports and i don't watch any now or follow any teams or anything like that. for me it's all about the science! and music. and film. and snacks.
I remember a long time ago I asked about your tattoo, which you did explain to me! ...but it'd be cool to see you tell everyone in depth. :D

when someone asks you : What is your ethnicity ? , they are really only asking : How are you different from me? That doesn't have to be negative in any way since we are all different
But yeah my guess was on point since the first time i saw your videos and i was like (is he Italian or greek?)
Paisan! We're from Palermo, Sicily. Close enough. Although I'm second generation American.
I'm Italian/Irish/French/German/greek/English/Norwegian/Balkan/Russian/Scottish etc etc from Massachussetts myself! From Italy my family took the name Pisa but not from there lol...

Of course we can make content without patrons, but we also need to earn a living, so if the people that watch our content support us, it allows us to focus on making more content than having to work other jobs.
