My point was that there are some black outliers which is why they are in those fields as well as affirmative action which aims to put blacks that are less qualified into the same positions as whites who are more qualified. Let me use high school as an example as that is what I am familiar with since Im in it. Say I got a 31 on the act and apply to Northwestern. A black kid who has the same gpa and extracurriculars but got a 29 wud take my spot. He is less qualified than me but gets the spot. That also happens in the work force, Yet you brag about being a "product of Affirmative Action" whch only proves you are less qualified for your job. You didn't have to put in as much work as the whites who have similiar jobs and got in easier. And I don't wish to compliment I was saying that not all blacks are dumb and that you appeared to be an outlier based on you repeatedly saying how "educated". But now I am reconsidering based on the fact that you are a product of the unfair Ammirmative Action, and how ridiculous your argument is. You keep going back to just how amazing you are because of your job so you must be right or correcting my grammar which means you have no good points to add.

I agree, she is so wrong it hurts my nuts. The average difference between humans genetics is 0.1% which of the 3000mb information that is the human genome 3 mb is the difference. xD We are on par with engendered species when it comes to genetic diversity. Which means that out of 23 chromosome pair only the first pair have a tiny difference, the 22 other pairs are identical. Now she is very emotionally attached to her conclusion, we both seem to i agree with that. And I believe she is because she gets to think she is a special snowflake that goes against the grains, oh how special indeed. But as you said, science don't give 2 shit about your feels. Here is why she is wrong though. She claims that IQ is mostly related to genetics, not taking into account that the brain is in constant development throughout a human beings life. What is true about IQ is that it is related to what the individual experiences in life, well mostly, there is a tiny tiny bit of genetics, so small it's negligible. The brain can contain about 2500000000mb( 2.5 petabytes), and the average difference between people is about 3mb ..... What plays more significant role in a persons life, that 3 mb or 2500000000 that is possible to fill the brain? Now accepting the former as truth is much easier, it is much easier to claim societies problems derive from humans with lower intelligence, but this neglects all the diverse factors that play part in a human beings life. All experiences mean nothing in comparison to genetics? To accept this is much easier, but science isn't really about blindly accepting what is easy. It is about accepting the highest of the truths from all points of views. This lady is just emotionally driven and lazy, and very diluted to believe she is the one speaking truth. And set aside her scientific fails here. There is nothing good that can come from accepting that one race is superior to another, because it will not stop there. This will continue more and more, and the only ones winning on this is the ones that can afford perfect education, healthcare and food, and the ones that will lose are the poor people. And the implications of this is very dire, because what defines a human being, what differs it from other creatures is it's intelligence. And if we start to accept people with less fortunate lives as less intelligent we will believe that they are not part of our species, and humans tend to be very cruel to creatures they deem as not humans. We can see examples of this all over history where human beings think that solely by birth their value as a human being is truer and more pure than others. I agree my friend, we must put aside our emotions if we are to accept what is the highest truth, and what will move humanity forward.

They lacked buildings of 2+ stories until the colonies began to form, and did little with the natural wealth of their land with the exception of animal products and gold. Literally every aspect of society in most of Sub Saharan Africa that isn’t folklore or local food, is traceable to Europe or the Middle East. North Africa is culturally, genetically, and archaeologically, totally distinct from the rest of the continent; without even mentioning the eastern coast of the continent.

@@raydarable Ah. So what about rural Chinese kids or Italian students living in public housing on government assistance? Still maintain higher scores. (The latter being the highest in Europe, despite a lower living standard than Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, etc.) China’s example also shows that the tests, which some claim as biased favorably towards western (or even more affluent) applicants, elucidate intellectual quotients effectively irrespective of whether they’re educated in western-style didactic or quality of life/education.

The narrator conveniently leaves out that the racial differences persist when studying identical twins raised in difference race households, showing that the IQ differences are indeed genetic. So this documentary is very biased toward black apologetics.

All children pass beyond significant windows of opportunity. The development of each particular characteristic becomes much more challenging. Henry Kissinger came to the US when he was 15 and has a very noticeable accent. His brother, Walter, is only about two years his junior and speaks without a trace of an accent. A person's accent is set in stone between ages 12 through 14, after which a person's ability to speak a second language like a native is almost impossible. A person's style of speech is mostly influenced by their peers during those tender years. A person's capacity to empathize and be guided by a well functioning moral compass is pretty well fixed before the age of 7. IQ is heavily influenced by early intellectual stimulation and socialization. A person judged as very smart in a upper-middle class suburban environment may easily seem stupid in an non-literary arctic setting. The bias in IQ assessment is varies according to the type of knowledge that allows an individual to thrive in their socio-economic setting.

G Sandy if there is research that shows that IQ can be increased through various types of stimulation and young childhood I challenge you to post it up because all of the literature I have heard of shows the exact opposite particularly when IQ is measured in adulthood

People confuse IQ (intelligence) with knowledge or education. IQ tests typically do not require factual knowledge or a particular culture or language. They are reasoning and logic tests. If anything can be attributed to genetics, it has to include intelligence. I personally think nature trumps nurture when it comes to many things.

Let me answer the question about economic status, education, and culture: look at the people in poorest regions in China, they far lower economic condition, education, and their culture and education is in no way favoring them in IQ test, and IQ test is not designed by Chinese people. How come they score higher than white population? Any more question?

So you'll have your dumbasses. Where are most of the AI and ML engineers coming from? Hint: it's China. The US high tech Industry is literally being propped up by ethnic Chinese. Just pop by a computer science class in university and you'll see.

Statistics are not racist. The people who are saying that the average IQ is varies in different races are not racist. They just measured average IQ, and the average IQ of some races was higher than that of another's. They aren't making this up because they hate a certain race, it's just what the statistics say. There are lots of sources saying the same thing, so this is real. Some of you are saying that certain famous people's IQs are too high for their average. This is incorrect. Average means all of the scores added and divided but how many there were. If someone's IQ is really high, higher than their race's average, then that just means that there are people with lower IQs to bring the average down. Some of you were also saying that IQ is not a proper test for intelligence. You are wrong. IQ is an amazing test that measures someone's way of thinking and thinking speed. IQ is not about knowledge, but way of thinking. Don't get me wrong. IQ does not mean talent. You may not be good at detecting patterns, but you may be good at something else that is considered knowledge or talent but not way of thinking.

Singing Kumbaya will not raise IQ scores of Africans. Science cannot be "mocked", it can only be refuted with cold, hard facts. Your mode of reasoning is exactly like a creationist who believes apriori that the Earth is only 6000 years old and therefore all fossils (dinosaur bones) should be "forced" into this narrative. Similarly, blacks and leftists assume apriori that races are equal in IQ and if IQ tests don't bear this out, they perform all sorts of contorted mental acrobatics to "force" the facts into their narrative: tests are biased, they don't measure intelligence, there are multiple intelligences, the intellect doesn't matter in life, "oppression" makes people score lower, and a ton of similar excuses. +Thatcher "Culture" has little to do with raw intelligence. If IQ tests were concerned with such things as verbal ability I could see where it would be, but it they(the tests) are not in any way weighted in that direction. Much of the test has to do, for instance, with the recognition of geometric patterns, spatial differences and the like and are thus devoid of socio-economic or social variables.

She is pointing out actual differences, based on data. She is not telling you her opinion. It is up to you to figure in all of the potential variables that cause these differences, but you cannot deny that they exist, just because it is uncomfortable. Cultural vs genetic is the variable that needs to be addressed. I believe that most of the difference will prove to be cultural. But, if even a small part is genetic, we should pay attention to this information, not toss it out for "cultural" reasons.

The data produced by South Asian sociologist say Europeans have a lower iq and South Asians have the highest. Unless iq scores change so rapidly then iq test are biased

It's a combination of cognitive IQ and social maturity that makes the difference. People with a lower IQ can be fully productive and successful in society, but if a low IQ is combined with the social maturity of a 12 year old, then you have a person who views the world from a self centered perspective and acts impulsively and often violently.

IQ scores are not a reflection of purely your genetics. Intelligence is a combination of genetics and environment. So to be inclined to assume that genetics is the reason behind the Black/White IQ gap makes you a candidate for being a racist, so it doesn't surprise me people are calling her that. N H Idiots like you who actually have never been to Africa dont know that we do have the same technology. I am speaking about Nigeria. The problem we have is corruption as the politicians put in place by the British were specifically chosen not because of their ability to rule but if they are stupid enough to be made puppets. Also lands are torn apart by war because the borders drawn up by colonisers. These borders separate tribes and give a large portion of water to one people. In such hot climates water is important as droughts occur. Therefore battles happen and any progress made is destroyed.

If it helps, you can go by the system that Edward Dutton uses in some of his videos, like separating the mid-wits from those that are actually high IQ. The system he uses goes by 0s and 5s. So anyone with an IQ between 105-120 are considered mid-wits. And then those with an IQ between 120+ - 135 are considered high IQ

No. The issue is that if you complain that a group is economically disadvantaged(compared to members of other populations) and then people start demanding that the resources of the better off populations should pay for the poorer ones because they are "unfairly discriminated", then the poorer group should prove how it is unfairly held back as opposed to simply not measuring up. You can't demand the same amount of stuff as others have and not be judged by the same standards.

If Brain size and IQ averages are different between races, where is the argument.

Get a kid to read all sorts of things at a young age and he/she will probably be smarter than a child who doesn’t read. My fourth grade teacher in the ‘57-58 school year told us that third graders couldn’t understand concepts. My daughter, born in ‘85, had read To Kill A Mockingbird by the end of first grade and Gone With The Wind by the end of second. Her third grade teacher told us she was the only pupil she had that year who could understand concepts. Although she is smart, I think much of that is due to her reading of everything she could get her hands on.

At the end of the video, Morgan Freeman makes the hopeful-sounding point that "...we _are_ still evolving." But many biologists say we have largely stopped evolving. Macro-evolution in homo-sapiens ended a long time ago, but of course micro is still trickling along.

People don’t have to feel bad about their lower IQ. I myself have relatively high IQ but I think my interpersonal skills are below average and I’ve seen many people doing better than me in their life with their social skills. I’m really jealous of them >:(

What I wanna know is who are they testing? how many people did they test and how fare are these tests? the white and asians they tested could have been from educated backgrounds and the blacks and Hispanics they tested could have been from the hood with low education. I have a great feeling that these tests are not fair and that they didn't test enough people from the same education classes.

I'm sure her study is accessible and the statistics you're requesting can be viewed somehow. What's important to understand is that IQ tests have less to do with education(crystallzed intelligence) and more to do with sheer cognitive ability. Also, there's much debate regarding the amount a person's environment actually contributes to IQ. So far, I've found most credible sources attribute ~75% of intelligence to heredity and the rest to environmental factors. Keep in mind this is only what we know right now. These values may or may not change over time as more research needs to be done.

Doo Goo actually, i looked at the IQ tests and the questions on it look very academic. your education would play a big roll in it, also there are things you can do to improve your IQ so if some one has been doing less of them things in there life then there IQ wont be as good.

Samuel115s The most widely used test is WAIS-IV. It's divided into 4 categories: verbal comprehension/ perceptual reasoning/ working memory/ processing speed. Only 2/3 of verbal comprehension questions require use of acquired knowledge. So, the majority of questions on the IQ test really don't require any actual knowledge. What they do require is cognitive ability.

Put up all your other tests with different biases - let's have it!

If one's IQ is something that can change throughout a person's lifetime depending on the extent and degree to which the individual uses their cognitive abilities, then how is it genetically based? If identical twins can significantly differ in IQ scores, then apparently there are some major environmental factors involved. What makes this data so insulting is that the range for retardation is on an IQ bell curve is 50-70, and yet they claim without hesitation that Hispanics and Native Americans average at a 70. It's very clear that this study is greatly flawed, and the fact that miss Linda would even attempt to legitimize such data should make anyone with common sense second guess her own level of intelligence.

Exactly,One thing is for sure if you are white and you make stupid inferences or idiotic based research, people would recognize it. Not so with other ethnic groups. You would have to produce a project with good scientific data, results and conclusions otherwise they could consider you as ignorant. Which is the way it should be for everyone. I doubt that a despot doesn't need high emotional IQ. People you describe are similar to aspies who are rarely able to gain such position. Also moral values easily fade away when you have total authority.

This interesting and explains a lot about the distribution of Nobel prizes, business starters, further educations etc. No point being upset/denying the results just cos the average iq of a certain group is lower doesn’t mean your IQ is lower and getting bogged down by generalisations is a waste of time and will hold you back.

There is a question I've had for many years but nobody has been able to give me an intelligent factual based answer. According to all recent, if not all, studies define intelligence as a progression among ethnic and racial groups so one can infers that when a group evolves through generations their IQ level only go up, or according to this "professor" their IQ remains the same or only slightly goes up. So my question is: Where in the world was the high IQ of white (Anglo) people during the Dark Ages, or as a matter of fact 2,000 years before that? Remember the term Dark Ages is a Eurocentric definition because at that time the Aztec, Inca, Arab and Chinese and other subgroups were far more advanced in all the sciences and technology of the time which served as the basis for the Renaissance and Age of Enlightenment. I think this issue is far more complex that needs truly intelligent people to study and analyze all aspects of intelligence without resorting to stereotypical unsupported conclusions.

Exactly. Many closet racists in this comment section ignore this focal point. I'd add many African civilisations to this mix aswell, because around this time and even before they were seriously advancing in the subjects you mentioned. They also ignore the serious damage colonialism caused to the Africans they so loathe. And if the latter point is brought up, they'll claim that 'oh that was in the past their corrupt leaders now are to blame.' This is true although both are heavily to blame sadly. And of course I am not saying that all African leaders are corrupt. But as you said, the situation is a lot more complex than they think it is. Also let's not ignore the cheeky countries that they force their former colonies to pay hefty taxes to them every year like France for instance. But their ignorance is not completely their fault. The Jewish plutocrats of this world who continually feed a jew-washed distorted form of history to the masses on a day to basis are to blame. I am an electrical engineer. There is not much diversity at all in that profession. 99% white males or Asian males for those that design electronics. There are plenty of others who are smart enough to do the math, they just don't like it.

I am physicist, Same is true: I have rarely seen any blacks. They do exist of course but a tiny fraction. It is the opposite for Jews: they form a tiny fraction of the population but lots of them are physicists--- many at the highest level.

I Q scores have a positive correlation with success, whether or not they really measure intelligence.

Dogs were subjected to artificial selection by being put in environments drastically different from the natural. This sped up their evolution to an incredible degree. Humans on the other hand... subjected themselves to artificial selection by creating environments drastically different from the natural, also speeding up their evolution.

“Hispanic” is not a race. She probably is referring to Native Americans originating from Spanish speaking countries which, are the vast majority of immigrants to the US from said countries.

There's an important fact to take note of here. There is such a high correlation between race and social status that race cannot be correlated with intelligence without considering the affects of social status on intelligence.

In any scientific study were statistics are used adjustments are made for socio-economic factors like income. In this way social status IS considered. Genetics(race) and intelligence DO have high correlation. This is common knowledge and is well accepted as fact in the scientific community.

In fact, most experts agree that the heritability of intelligence only holds about fifty percent of accountability; thus, one's environment has equal influence on their intelligence level. I have read some of the studies that some of these people mention in their posts, and they are greatly flawed. For example, why is it that fraternal twins raised apart have more similar IQ scores than biological siblings raised apart? Also, intelligence cannot be fully measured by an IQ test. Someone who scores high on an IQ test, simply thinks in a way that is most appropriate for that kind of test; a test that determines intelligence based on a particular preconceived notion of something that cannot be identified unambiguously.

But those factors are considered and adjusted for in studies of this nature. When considering heritability of intelligence genetics contributes on order of close to 80% in individuals of adult age. Conversely, it shows how genetic factors do. For example, when one twin is raised in a low income environment and the other is raised in a high income environment but their IQ scores are almost identical provides strong evidence for why genetics are a major influence on intelligence.

Yuri Edwards You mentioned "intelligence cannot be fully measured by an IQ test". Others might add that we really cannot define intelligence. In reality there is a commonly accepted definition for intelligence. Does it measure musical or physical(sports) ability for example? No. It is not part of the definition. To me it's a refutable proof that IQ is subjective and it's been proven that it's not static.

To find out if it is genetic or not, you would have to compare the IQs of people from different races from similar socio-economic backgrounds.

I think we're devolving instead of evolving. Instead of fighting amongst ourselves about which race is smarter & which race is more athletic, we need to embrace our differences & use our talents for the good of humankind.

If this is true, can anyone explain why Irish people were found to have an average Iq in the 90’s? Or the fact that a few studies found that motivation can affect Iq scores, along with nutrition( Asians eat a lot of fish which contain omega 3s and are found to increase cognitive functioning, iron depletion and/or other vitamin and mineral deficiencies can decrease iq scores ). Or the fact that humans at the bottom of any social hierarchy are flooded with stress hormones, have smaller telemores, and poorer immune functioning, higher rates of depression(how could anyone do well in these conditions?) Or that culture( studying more or simply expected to do better influences people to do better(stereotype threat) or that highly motivated people outperform people with iqs higher than them? I could keep going on and on, but there is more to the IQ story

All of this is slightly more irrelevant now that there is polygenic discovery in 2018 that gives scientific proof of intelligence in genetics, once they unlock more data points and analyze over a race the question will finally be done and dusted, most likely that there is racial differences based on your heritage.
