Asia's rise -- how and when | Hans Rosling

www.ted.com Hans Rosling was a young guest student in India when he first realized that Asia had all the capacities to reclaim its place as the world's dominant economic force. At TEDIndia, he graphs global economic growth since 1858 and predicts the exact date that India and China will outstrip the US.
TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Featured speakers have included Al Gore on climate change, Philippe Starck on design, Jill Bolte Taylor on observing her own stroke, Nicholas Negroponte on One Laptop per Child, Jane Goodall on chimpanzees, Bill Gates on malaria and mosquitoes, Pattie Maes on the "Sixth Sense" wearable tech, and "Lost" producer JJ Abrams on the allure of mystery. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and TEDTalks cover these topics as well as science, business, development and the arts. Closed captions and translated subtitles in a variety of languages are now available on TED.com, at www.ted.com/translate. Anyone watching this I hope you appreciate the gravity of the messenger. Hans Rosling's tone, facts, and demeanor was/is that of an adviser to the world. He didn't have one slip of the tongue, or foot in the mouth, statement in his presentation. While the whole time he spoke in a manner as if to advise what the best course of action would be. Then he predicted (arbitrary date) that power and responsibility has already begun to shift. King making on video.
