The most heartbreaking thing about this scene is knowing the cure was permanent and they never found a way to reverse it. Every mute that took a hit in this attack was lost forever. It really makes Emilia so much more evil in retrospect.

Even if they did find a way to re-induce the mutation, there'd be no guarantee it'd reproduce the same complex neural structure that the cure destroyed, and the information contained therein would still be lost beyond any hope of recovery.

@@howtotrainyourdragonprince I feel like it's more equal to a vegatative state than death, because if a character dies like hugo for example you remember them for who they were, but with the cure they are still here but everything that made them them is gone, to me this makes the cure more terrifying then death, I think bad billions was a good example as what he described in his last moments before reverting is pretty terrifying, feeling your mind wander away and everything about you like your very identity and everything you are is just wiped away in an instand, it's also really hard for their loved ones as seen with amy because they are still alive but not the person you knew, now I'm not saying being an animal is just as bad as being essentially trapped in your own body but I still feel like this is a better parallel than death, because the person is still there it's just everything that made them who they are is gone, honestly season 3 was the most terrified I have ever been for characters in a story especially after they cured several notable mutes we have come to know throughout the series, there's yumyan who the story subtly makes you get attached to and is easily one of the most notable non main characters so seeing such a brave hero be cured is really a sad fate, then there's camille who cotton has probably known as her best band mate for a long time so to have her entire rocker personality be gone is another sad fate, the humming bird guy was not the nicest but he was still a notable character you knew whose identity was erased, bad billions is especially sad because these two brothers have known each other from birth and even though they probably had the occasional fights the fact he was the person to make the comment about how it's not a victory and trying to put on the sweater when he knows that it won't do anything as a scientist really shows how much losing the person he has knows his entire life effected him, and offcourse amy, while it was never confirmed it does feel like she and brad had at least some kind of romantic thing going on as losing brad broke her to the point of even stopping to believe in the idea of ratland as well as just generally being a bit of an emotional mess, I heard another comment about how rats live for two years and even though I'm not sure if that's exactly true the fact he isn't shown in the time skip kinda makes this thing even sadder, like it's easy to take a person being themselves for granted but seeing them lose their core identity is possibly a fate worse then death because at least you won't be left with a constant reminder of what they have become but yeah this scene was in my opinion equal to the snap in infinity war with how much despair and hopelessness it had me feeling(probably moreso after watching the conclusion to both stories because they never succeeded in undoing the damage emilia caused)

I think that there is a vaccine remember even though it wasn’t officially shown that the mutes had a vaccine maybe we will get a season 4 and probably yumyam will be mute again :)

I began ugly sobbing when Bad Billions took the shot for his bro. I love them so much. Also cried again when Good Billions was trying to shove the sweater on him, knowing well that wouldn’t fix it but ignoring science for the first time in his life

Yea and in this particular scene the humans after shooting kipo with the cure realise shes immune which was a big surprise at first and boy did it make this scene more awesome then it already was . It made kipo feel more powerful then she already was. And with every dart she got more angry and damn did the writers make it work for me …. They almost flawlessly made an epic yet emotional scene damn..

This may be the closest thing to getting the song. It's amazing! The muted background noises sound badass

Something sad I realized, is that if Kipo knew she was immune to the cure, it’s possible that Yumyan wouldn’t have been cured. That whole scene and this one was so sad, you’d think a kid’s show wouldn’t make someone cry every time.

You know what really makes this? The fact that you extracted the audio, yet, where you could not completely remove the audio, made a PERFECT light background tract that helped really push the feeling of the song and what it meant. The screams at the beginning, the roar, and the occasional whistle from the darts. Maybe it was on purpose, maybe it was a complete accident, maybe you added it in later, in any case, you did a good job. YUMYAN LOVES YOU ALL!!! This is why I hate humanity so much. Most people think they would side with mutes, but don't realize how gullible, or how stupid they would be... and none of you would see the damage till it's way too late. Everyone keeps saying humanity redeemed. Why? The next day you will just turn it back to ash. From Ashes TO Ashes. Untill YOU break the cycle, there is no point. I would jump at the opportunity to see a world like this. Even if it kills me. I want to see the world of wonder and mystery come back. We live in the boring age. The age of wastefulness. How amazing it would be to see the age of wonderbeasts. Because there will be things we don't understand, but if we don't fight over just a stupid fan, but extend out a simple helping hand, maybe together we can skip years of hatred and fighting and go right to Las Vistas. Maybe a world of confusion and fear for 200 years is just what we need to get everyone back on track. Maybe letting the concrete jungles get taken by Mega beavers, then we can rebuild to the right future, one that is deserving of humanity. Not this current mess.

They shouldn’t have brought up making a vaccine to undo the cure, if they were just gonna leave them like that. It gets even worse when u realize Yumyan was collateral damage when we later find out Kipo is immune to the effects. I honestly wished Song would’ve finished the vaccine in the time skip and the mutes who were cured, returned to being full-on mutes, trying to rebuild some parts of their lives

no matter how many times i rewatch this show this scene will always make me cry. i will never get over how emilia and the rest of the humans actually risked their lives to get through that death ivy knowing it could kill them just to “cure” those mutes. i’d never be dedicated to something so selfish. and she never really actually had a reason as to why she hated all mutes besides the fact that they overran the surface, but that wasn’t even a bad thing fr. she has wolf’s old mindset, that humans need to be on top. when kipo said “why can’t we all rule?” i felt that.

it was really sad for me about how it all went down in that episode
