Easter has reared its egg-shaped head once again, and this year we've got fake grass, fake chicks, fake Kinder Joy Eggs, and a real special Easter Tree! All from the mighty Poundland. (Easter Tree update: They actually are a thing in Austria and Germany, but you decorate real trees with eggs rather than get a tiny fake one.)

The format of these videos will simply NEVER get old. It's superb that in the modern era of 'influencer' driven, instant gratification and viral content that has to continuously outdo itself (often with genuinely unsafe and offensive results) that a simple format like this continues to be popular. When I was a lad, my Mom, who was originally from Germany, would bring in cut branches in late winter to leaf out and bloom indoors. Sometimes she’d blow out eggs (make small hole in either end, apply mouth to one hole, etc.), have us kids decorate them, and hang them with threads from the cur branches. Only thing I know of that resembles an Easter tree...

Fun fact: We actually have "Påskris" - Easter Trees in Sweden (usually without glitter). Usually a birch branch is used and you put feathers and little egg ornaments in it. Not so fun fact: the tradition of decorating a branch is about 150 years old or so, but the Easter tree / Påskris has existed for a long time. Originally it was a twig the father of the house/farm used to whip the other family members with to remind them of Christs suffering. There's a fun Easter tradition for you. 😣

Fun fact about the easter tree, my grandmother makes Easter trees every year, it's usually a coloured bunch of painted twigs put in a vase with eggs hung off of it like in the picture on the packet, but with far less garish sparkles Idk if it's a Dutch thing or if my family is just strange Edit: I looked in the comments and apparently it's a German tradition, which makes sense cause my grandmother is part German aswell
