Hahah yes this was heavily inspired by blender gurus amazing tutorials :)

36 years coding, but I look at pixel art and my brain goes to mush. This has helped a ton for my personal project I been developing, as I been using place holder circles and squares as pixel art due to having zero confidence. Shall be utilizing your channel a lot with all the good information you have on pixel art. Thanks for the KZreads!

If I can, I'd also definitely recommend Brandon James Greer. Him and Saultoons are fantastic for learning, though Brandon is a bit looser when it comes to teaching, you have to know how to analyze stuff to get the full benefit.

This is without a doubt one of, if not, THE BEST tutorial video I've ever come across. No nonsense filler, or hand holding. Just quick and thorough explanation allowing the viewer to pause and jump back at their own pace. The density is so refreshing. Pls make a tutorial for everything in existence. I also have some questions that I hope you are able to answer if you don't mind :) When I got to the part where I had to use the magic wand tool, I had created 2 groups like you did in the video and I flattened both, but when trying to select a color it instead select the whole square with the donut in it. I tried changing tolerance and contiguous but that didn't seem to do anything either. What am I doing wrong here? Also, what would you recommend when making pixel art? Keeping as much as possible on one layer or seperating layers with color, lineart etc? Cause I tried making lineart on one layer then making a new layer with color but when trying to use the paint bucket tool it just colors in the entire thing, is that because I need to make sure the lineart layer is the top layer? :)

I think its awesome that many of these shortcuts are the same across other software that's not for pixel art. Like Blender, UE5, Godot, Unity, etc

Cant see the symmetry button?? - First you have to make the symmetry controls visible going to View > Symmetry Options menu, and then you will see the symmetry buttons. Your welcome :3

Yes I've used Pixel Studio it's great! I'd recommend Dotpict too on mobile if you can try it, it has a unique but nice drawing method :)

You are such a great teacher though< I'm new here and just getting into all of this but the simple way you explain things and the exercises you give to help us fully understand and practice the concept is so great. I feel like you're myt favorite youtube university lectrurer.

I've been wanting to create an rpg game since high school in the late 90s. I went to college for graphic design and have been working regular jobs since. However, I have been doing freelance graphic design projects for years but it still isn't what I've wanted to do. I've used RPG maker for years too but I felt like it didn't have enough customization. This channel has completely opened my eyes to be able to create that RPG game from scratch and this makes it completely customizable! Thank you so much for this channel and these amazingly helpful videos. I am beginning the creation of my 20 year dream tonight! I can't wait to purchase this program and get to work!

I am re-watching this and to be honest, I've seen many youtubers on various things but YOU sir are my favorite! You're very good at explaining, you're hilarious at times, you make it very fun and easy to understand. I never understood pixel art and I started out at drawing anime in clip studio paint. I'm not that good and normally I follow a template or something but after watching your videos I feel more confident that I can accomplish my goals! Wow this is so useful! and thanks again for the raid on twitch man! and the lurk and follow! , glad you sorta sneaked in yourself there to promo this tutorial haha, this tutorial is super useful didn't even know most of these features existed. I will definitely save this tutorial to go back to check on when im am getting lost ^^

i started drawing pixel art, your videos are truely helpful and entertaining. Thank you! When you start asperite for the first time you dont have the Symetry tool enabled you must go to "view" and check the mark on "Symetry Options"
